    Sany Conexpo Overview

LAS VEGAS, March 6, 2014 — Sany America is leveraging its second CONEXPO/CON-AGG show appearance to introduce three new construction equipment models – including its first two compact excavator models – and two upgraded machines. The company also is using the high-profile global tradeshow to exhibit for the first time three recently launched machines – two cranes and one hydraulic excavator – and introduce to the U.S. and Canada a heavy duty forklift truck, previously available in Latin America and other international markets.

In all, Sany America is displaying 19 machines in one of the show’s largest exhibits (Booth 3516 in the Silver Lot). It features a wide range of models, including rough-terrain, crawler and truck cranes and hydraulic excavators, which are available throughout the Americas, as well as a motor grader, vibratory roller and heavy-duty lift truck, which are currently available in Latin America.

Sany, China’s first- and the world’s fifth-ranked construction machinery manufacturer, also is exhibiting its “Excavator Transformer” and 15 types of accessories. Throughout the show, Sany will conduct four daily demonstrations featuring two Sany SY215C hydraulic excavators performing synchronized “choreography” to highlight the machine’s versatility and precision.

“We’re here to show contractors from around the globe that Sany works,” said Mike Rhoda, CEO of Sany America. “From the smallest dig to the biggest lift, Sany works for contractors who need reliable, productive, cost-effective performance.”

New models highlight Sany product lineThe new Sany SCC8100TBXL telescopic

boom crawler crane leads the roster of Sany product introductions. With a five-section, telescopic boom upperworks mated to a crawler lowerworks, it provides the dual advantages of a crawler crane and

  • hydraulic crane. This model uniquely features a boom that uses

heavy-duty nylon rope instead of the commonly used steel cable, enabling a lighter weight boom design with no sacrifice in boom strength. The machine is particularly well suited for road- and bridge-building.

The SCC8100TBXL crawler crane has a maximum lift capacity of 110 tons (100 metric tons),

a maximum boom height of 155.8 ft (47.5 m), total counterweight of 81,570 lb (37 000 kg), and maximum gradeability of 60 percent (31 degrees). A 300-hp (224-kW) Cummins QSL9-C300 Tier 4 Interim-certified engine powers the SCC8100TBXL crane. Its Porsche-designed UltraCab 2 provides optimum operator comfort and safety.

Sany also is introducing two compact excavator models, the short-tail swing Sany SY16C and the zero-tail swing Sany SY35U. Both models feature Tier 4-certified Yanmar engines and multi-functional attachment operation. The SY16C has an operating weight of 3,858 lb (1 750 kg), maximum dig depth of 7 ft 8 in (2360 mm) and bucket breakout force of 3,417 lbf (15.2 kN). The SY35U has an operating weight of

8,333 lb (3 780 kg), maximum dig depth of 10 ft 2 in (3105 mm) and bucket breakout force of 6,834 lbf (30.4 kN).

“The Sany SY35U hits a sweet spot in the compact excavator market,” said Eric Teague, vice president and general manager of Sany America’s Earth Moving Division. “Approximately 25 percent of all compact excavators sold in North America are three- or four-ton class machines. It’s a perfect size for utility work, landscaping and other applications that put a premium on maneuverability, but still require solid power.”

Newly available to U.S. and Canadian customers, the Sany SCP250 heavy-duty lift-truck is produced by the Sany Port Machinery business unit. Featuring a new design, the SCP250 provides an innovative cab side-tilt and cab side-shift technology, greatly easing

access to the engine for maintenance operations. With an operating weight of 79,366 lb (36 000 kg) the Sany heavy-duty forklift truck is powered by a 220-hp (164-kW) Cummins engine. Like other Sany machines, it features core components and systems sourced globally from trusted suppliers, including a

Dana transmission and Kessler drive axle. The fork assembly of the SCP250 is designed to handle large-tonnage and bulk cargo.

Upgraded cranes are Tier 4 Interim certifiedAlso on display in the Sany exhibit are two

upgraded cranes, both featuring Tier 4 Interim-certified Cummins engines.

The Sany SCC8100-2 crawler crane sports a higher powered engine – the 341-hp (254-kW) Cummins QSC8.3 – for better control and support for multi-function hydraulics. It also features the upgraded Sany UltraCab 2. The SCC8100-2 has a rated lift capacity of 110 U.S. tons (100 metric tons). It may be configured with either a main boom up to 220 ft (67 m) or a fixed jib up to 59 ft (18 m) in length.

The Sany SRC865XL rough-terrain crane, with a rated lift capacity of 65 tons (59 metric tons) also features a higher powered engine. The SRC865XL, Sany’s most popular rough-terrain crane in the North American market, is an extended-reach version of the company’s SRC865 model, adding a fifth main boom section to provide 26.4 feet more reach. The SRC865XL reaches a maximum tip height of 198.2

ft. (60.4 m). The five-section, hydraulic main boom telescopes from 37 to 139 ft. (11.3 to 42.4 m). Boom extension ranges from 30.2 to 52.5 ft (9.2 to 16 m).First time in the spotlight

Three Sany machines are on display for the first time at CONEXPO, having been introduced in 2013. Designed specifically for the North American market, the Sany SCC8150 crawler crane offers a lift capacity of 165 tons (150 metric tons). It fills a strategic position in the Sany crawler crane lineup midway between the 110-ton (100-metric-ton) and 220-ton (200-metric-ton) machines. A fuel-efficient, 340-hp (316-kW), Tier 4 Interim-certified Cummins engine powers the SCC8150 crawler crane. Its Porsche-designed

UltraCab 2 provides enhanced ergonomics, large windows, and well-placed function screens and video monitors to enhance operator control..

The 115,800-lb (52,526 kg) Sany SRC885 rough-terrain crane, with rated lift capacity of 85 tons (77 metric tons), delivers versatile, stable performance in lifting and pick-and-carry applications. Powered by a 275-hp (205-kW) Cummins Tier 4i engine, the Sany SRC885 provides reach of up to 209.7 ft. (64 m) through a five-section, full-power boom. The main
