The ATR 72 MP / ASW is the eective, aordable and reliable Alenia Aeronautica solution formilitary forces that need to perform a wide range of missions in the maritime surveillance arena.Mission reliability is the main characteristic of the aircraft. In the basic MP conguration the ATR72 is perfectly suited to perform any type of medium range, maritime patrol, electronic intelligen-

ce and Search And Rescue mission. These capabilities are achieved by integrating a state-of-the-art, modular mission system fully integrated with a wide array of sensors, including a search radarwith 360 coverage, an electro-optical turret equipped with TV and IR sensors, an ESM system anda comprehensive tactical communication suite. A complete Self Defence System ensures aircraftsurvivability in high threat scenarios. Thanks to the ample growth potential of both the platformand its mission system, the ATR 72 MP can easily evolve in the ATR 72 ASW, with the capability todetect, locate and attack submerged targets autonomously. The ASW package integrates thestandard sensors suite with an acoustic system (including sonobuoy launchers) and a MagneticAnomaly Detector. Moreover, four belly pylons and a stores management system allows the ATR72 ASW to carry and deliver weapons including torpedoes and depth charges. The Turkish Navy

(with ten ATR 72 ASW) and the Italian Navy (with four ATR 72 MP) will be the rst customers tobenet from the excellent performance, outstanding comfort and unparalleled multi-missioncapabilities of the ATR 72 MP / ASW aircraft.
