A look into the history and Sound Healingmovement. We will explore traditionalmethods of drumming, chanting, instrumentsas used by indigenous cultures, shamans andhealers worldwide. We will also see thecurrent trend of sound healing as it standstoday. In this session you will also learn thespecial techniques and considerations used inspecialized environments like Hospice,Alzheimer's and Dementia facilities andassisted living.

Techniques fall under the categoryof “how” we play as opposed to“what” we play. Navigate some ofthese mid-level techniques withJonny as we lay a foundation foryour embellishment repertoire.

The Native Flute and drums go hand in handnaturally. In this workshop explore thevarious ways world percussion can enhanceand support your flute song. We will examinevarious percussion like the Bodhran, Cajon,Djembe, Hand pan, Ocean drum, shakers etc.You will learn which drums go best withwhich keys, what to avoid, how to play with adrum circle and we will have a loopingmachine to experiment on in real time. Whatfun! Bring whatever drum or shaker youhave.
