02 2014-15獎助學金頒授典禮

教育改變生命、改變世界。因此，香港政府於1989年成立香港公開大學，以開放及遙距教育為本，讓早年錯過大學教育的人士亦能接受優質及靈活的高等教育。多年來，大學為了貫徹有教無類的理想，致力開辦多個學科及課程，以迎合社會的需求，同時亦為香港發展成為知識型經濟作出貢獻。

本校深信所有人都有追尋知識的權利，亦不應因為經濟問題而被剝奪學習的機會，遂一直致力尋找資助，為有需要的人士提供經濟上的援助，讓社會各人亦能享有平等的進修機會。承蒙社會、企業團體和個別贊助人的鼎力支持，本校於1992年開始成立「學生資助基金」，設立獎學金及獎項嘉許學術成績卓越的學生，並為清貧的學生提供助學金，舒緩其經濟壓力。本年度基金共派發獎、助學金逾六百三十四萬元，其中逾四百一十名學生獲頒獎學金或優異獎，另外約二百三十名獲頒發助學金。

在辦學初期公大的學生多為在職的成年人士，「學生資助基金」的成立對他們來說著實是最大的鼓舞，讓他們可專注於學業之上，無需過分憂慮經濟問題，甚至得到更大的信心去完成進修目標。本校自2001年開辨全日制課程予年青學子，因此，基金近年亦增設獎學金嘉許全日制課程的學生。

不論是遙距課程還是全日制課程的得獎者，每個獎項的價值遠超過其金額的多少，在獲獎的同時，學生的努力亦獲得了認同和肯定。大學上下謹此向各善長衷心致謝，感謝您們長久以來對大學及學生的支持及鼓勵，希望各賢達及友好能繼續與我們攜手，為更多有志向學的人士，提供高等教育的機會。

學生資助基金 Student Assistance Fund

Education brings about positive changes to people’s lives and the world. To this end, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) was established in 1989 by the Hong Kong Government to offer open and distance education to those who have missed higher education in their earlier years. The OUHK is committed to providing ‘Education for All’, and the University has since then offered a wide range of courses and programmes that are in line with, and often pre-empting societal needs, thereby contributing to Hong Kong’s development into a knowledge-based economy.

The OUHK believes that no one should be deprived of the right to pursue knowledge, especially for those who are financially challenged. To allow equal learning opportunities among students from all walks of life, the Unviersity has tried many means to seek sponsorship and provide needy students with the necessary financial support. With generous donations from the generous public, corporations, groups and individuals, the ‘Student Assistance Fund’ was established in 1992. A number of scholarships and bursaries are offered through this Fund to reward outstanding students and support the needy ones. This year, a total of over $6.34 million was granted as scholarships and prizes for over 410 students and as bursaries for about 230 students.

In the early years, the majority of OUHK students were adult learners who worked full-time. The launch of the Student Assistance Fund was a most valuable impetus as it enables them to concentrate on their studies without worrying too much about the financial burden from tuition, and it also provides the additional driving force to encourage them to realize their study plans. In 2001, The OUHK further extended the offer of scholarships to include full-time students after the launch of our full-time programmes for young secondary school leavers.

Whether the awardees are distance learning or full-time students, the value of the scholarships and bursaries goes way beyond its explicit value. The awards represent the endorsement and recognition of their relentless efforts to acquire knowledge. The OUHK and our students are most honored and gratified to have received the widespread and longstanding support from the community. We look forward to receiving more support from donors and friends so that we can continue to offer higher education opportunities to more eager learners.

香港公開大學獎學金本校於1993年獲無名氏捐贈三百八十餘萬元成立基金，每年以部份基金收入設立「香港公開大學獎學金」，嘉許成績優異的學生。本年度共頒發九個獎項，合共九萬一千八百元。

中銀香港 ─ 香港公開大學獎學金中銀香港慈善基金自1996年起每年捐款五萬元，為修讀工商管理課程的學生設一萬元獎學金五個。

陳漢祺獎學金陳志仁校友由2008年起為李兆基商業管理學院學位課程的優異生每年設五千元獎學金四個。

香港特許秘書基金獎學金（兼讀制學士課程）香港特許秘書基金於2000年設獎嘉許修讀企業行政學及企業管治學士課程的優異生。本年度設六千元獎學金一個予兼讀制學士課程的學生。

香港特許秘書基金獎學金（深造課程）香港特許秘書基金由2002年起設獎嘉許修讀企業行政學及企業管治碩士課程的優異生，本年度設九千元獎學金一個予遙距碩士課程的學生。

廠商會獎學金香港中華廠商聯合會由2001年起捐設獎學金予修讀與工商業有關課程的學生。本年度共派發七個獎項，每個價值三千元。

CMA and Donors ScholarshipIn 2001, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong extended its scholarship scheme to OUHK students taking industry and business-related programmes. 利銘澤黃瑤璧獎學金利銘澤黃瑤璧慈善基金於2005年以二比一配對本校校友獎學基金捐款，其後再以一比一配對。基金將用作配對的捐款以獎學金形式派發予成績優異的學生，本年度共派發一萬元獎學金二十個。

Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce ScholarshipIn commemoration of its 80th anniversary, Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Limited donated $100,000 in 2001 to provide ten scholarships for disbursement in five years. The sponsorship was renewed in 2007 and two annual awards of $10,000 each are made available. Awardees: Tao Chun Hung Yee Chiu Mun

Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship (Postgraduate Programme) Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants set up an annual scholarship in 2002 for postgraduate students of accounting strand. One award of $6,000 was granted this year to reward an outstanding student. Awardee: Tung Yung Chun Alice


香港會計師公會獎學金（學位課程）香港會計師公會自1998年起設獎勉勵修讀會計學學位課程的優異生，本年度設六千元獎學金兩個予學位課程的學生。

港燈環境學獎學金（深造課程）香港電燈有限公司於2008年成立獎學金，獎勵修讀環境學遙距或兼讀制面授課程的優異學生，現每年設五千元獎項一個予深造課程學生。

Jockey Club Community Healthcare Education ScholarshipThe Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust set up a five-year scholarship scheme for outstanding students of the Certificate in Health Studies (Community Health Care) and Diploma in Health Studies (Community Health Care) programmes who have financial needs. The scholarship scheme will run for five years, providing a maximum of three hundred awards of $15,000 each. This year, a total of 49 students were granted the award. 香港公開大學校友獎學金校友獎學基金於2001年成立，用以設立獎、助學金，鼓勵成績優異的學生，及幫助有經濟需要的學生。本年度頒發一萬元獎學金四個。

香港公開大學李冠春教育基金獎學金本校榮譽博士李志喜資深大律師於1999年為就讀香港公開大學的殘疾、在囚及新來港人士提供助學金資助，2006年再捐款八百萬元成立「香港公開大學李冠春教育基金」，每年設獎學金予有經濟需要的優異生，另設助學金資助在囚、殘疾、長期病患及新來港人士。李志喜大律師於2012年續添支持，捐款五百萬元，為更多同學提供獎、助學金。現時每年派發一萬元獎學金十個。

譚尚渭教授優異生獎學金由本校榮譽博士及前校董會主席伍步謙博士發起成立，每年派發獎學金四個，每個一萬元，以誌榮休校長譚尚渭教授於2001年獲頒國際遠距離教育聯會傑出個人大獎。

Lam Kin Chung Morning Sun Charity Fund ScholarshipDr Lam Kin Chung, Honorary University Fellow of the OUHK, has donated two annual scholarships of $10,000 each in the name of his own charitable fund since 1998. Awardees: Cheung Lee Ha Siu Wang Hei Tabris

Leung Chun Cheung ScholarshipAlumnus Mr Leung Chun Cheung has donated $75,000 in total since 2009 to offer scholarships to outstanding students. One scholarship of $5,000 was disbursed this year. Awardee: Lee Kwan Yuk

Mr & Mrs Ting Yu Ching Memorial Scholarship Alumna Mrs Kwan Ting Sai Sum has contributed a total of $160,000 since 2004 to provide two annual prizes of $5,000 each to recognize students who have acheived academic excellence.Awardees: Keung Ka Yu Poon Sau Yuk

OUHK Alumni ScholarshipThe OUHK Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund was established in 2001 to offer scholarships and bursaries for outstanding and needy students. Four scholarships of $10,000 each were disbursed this year. Awardees: Cheung Ka Hung Chow Yat Fat Chu Ling Hsing Julie Tam Kai Ming Edmond

The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund ScholarshipOUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP first donated bursaries to support students with disabilities, prison inmates and new arrivals to continue their studies in 1999. In 2006, she set up ‘The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund’ with a donation of $8 million to provide scholarships to outstanding students who have financial needs and bursaries to students with chronic diseases in addition to existing beneficiary groups. The sponsorship was renewed and boosted by a further donation of $5 million in 2012. Ten scholarships of $10,000 each are made available every year. Prof. Kao Mayching Scholarship Professor Kao Mayching, former Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences set up an annual scholarship award of $10,000 in 2004 for distance learning students of the School who performed outstandingly.Awardee: Li Man King

Prof. Tam Sheung Wai’s Award of Excellence ScholarshipTo commemorate the occasion of Emeritus President Professor Tam Sheung Wai being conferred the Prize of Excellence for Individuals by the International Council for Open and Distance Education in 2001, Dr Philip Wu Po Him, OUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient and former Chairman of the OUHK Council, spearheaded a scholarship scheme to provide four annual scholarships of $10,000 each. Awardees: Cheung Chi Shing Valentine Lee Sau Chun Liu Yan Kit Wong Lei Yue


梁智仁教授榮休獎學金本校諮議會成員、榮譽博士及榮譽院士胡永輝博士於2013年捐款五十萬元設立「梁智仁教授榮休獎學金」，以表揚榮休校長梁智仁教授過去十年對公大所作的貢獻，今年共二十五名優異生獲頒發一萬元獎學金。

上海商業銀行獎學金上海商業銀行於1999年設一萬元獎學金兩個予商業管理課程優異生。去年，上海商業銀行將獎學金的數量增至五個，鼓勵更多成績優異的學生。

The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong – CTA ScholarshipThe Taxation Institute of Hong Kong donated a scholarship of $5,000 for outstanding students of the course ‘Taxation I’ in the full-time accounting programmes. Awardee: Tang Yin Man

Youth Arch – OUHK Improvement ScholarshipYouth Arch Foundation donated $2.5 million to establish the scholarship scheme in 2012 to recognize academic improvements and progress. Preference will be given to recipients of improvement awards granted by the Foundation or other schools and institutions. The scholarship scheme will run for five years, making available a maximum of twenty-six awards of $5,000 each to full-time students every year. In total twenty-six awards were disbursed this year. 政府自資專上教育基金於2011年設立「自資專上獎學金計劃」，向在非牟利院校修讀全日制自資副學位或學士學位課程的學生頒發獎學金，旨在推動本港自資專上院校的優質及持續發展。計劃設有五個項目，分別是最佳進步獎、展毅獎學金、卓越表現獎學金、才藝發展獎學金，以及外展體驗獎。

最佳進步獎最佳進步獎為鼓勵和表揚有顯著進步和改善的學生而設。本年度共三十七名公大學生獲頒發此獎項，每個獎項的金額為一萬元。

The Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme was set up in 2011 by the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund of the Hong Kong Government to offer scholarships and awards to students pursuing full-time self-financing sub-degree or bachelor’s degree programmes at self-financing tertiary institutions. The Scheme aims to promote quality and sustainable development of the self-financing post-secondary education sector. There are five types of scholarships established under the Scheme, namely: Best Progress Award, Endeavour Scholarship, Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Talent Development Scholarship and Reaching Out Award.

Best Progress AwardThe Best Progress Award was established to encourage and recognize students with significant progress and improvement. A total of thirty-seven OUHK students were awarded Best Progress Award. The value of each award is $10,000 this year. Endeavour ScholarshipThe Endeavour Scholarship was introduced in 2013/2014 academic year to give recognition to deserving post-secondary students with Special Educational Needs. 助學金Bursaries

蘋果助學金蘋果日報慈善基金由2009年起為本校全日制課程同學提供助學金資助，本年度設五千元助學金三個。

怡誠基金助學金李文彬先生每年為修讀社會科學、心理學或經濟學遙距課程的同學設助學金二十萬元。

中銀香港 ─ 香港公開大學助學金中銀香港慈善基金自1996年起每年捐款五萬元，為有經濟需要的工商管理學生設五千元獎學金十個。

新來港人士助學金本校為新來港人士設立助學金，幫助他們解決經濟困難，資助他們接受大學教育。本年度基金獲李志喜資深大律師及社會各界熱心支持。

在囚人士助學金本校榮譽院士及前校董譚萬鈞教授於1994年發起籌款成立基金，支持在囚人士進修。本年度基金續獲梁鎮翔校友、李志喜資深大律師、灣仔扶輪社、田家炳基金有限公司、胡永輝博士等多位熱心人士及機構慷慨支持。

殘疾學生助學金本校為殘疾學生設立助學金，協助他們突破障礙，進修增值。本年度基金獲梁鎮翔校友、李志喜資深大律師及各界善長捐款支持。

鄭宗檉、鄭徐翠屏先生夫人慈善基金助學金鄭宗檉、鄭徐翠屏先生夫人慈善基金由2007年起為兼讀課程清貧學生提供助學金，本年度派出助學金合共五千元。

李業廣博士助學金本校副校監及榮譽博士李業廣博士自2002年開始，先後捐款五十七萬元，分別為在囚和清貧學生設助學金。本年度捐款二萬元助學金資助清貧的學生。

馬天競醫生助學金馬天競醫生由2011年起為清貧學生每年捐設五千元助學金四個。

福滿源有限公司助學金福滿源有限公司由2013年起每年設助學金五萬元，為有經濟需要的學生提供援助，為期三年。

鷹君集團有限公司助學金鷹君集團有限公司為修讀人文學科、教育、環境學或相關遙距學位課程的學生設立助學金，每年派發共四萬元助學金予有經濟需要的學生，為期三年。

香港會計師公會助學金香港會計師公會由2012年起設五千元助學金四個，為修讀會計學學士課程並有經濟困難的學生舒緩經濟壓力。


Apple Daily Charitable Foundation BursaryApple Daily Charitable Foundation has donated bursaries since 2009 to support full-time students with financial needs to continue their studies. Three bursaries of $5,000 each were disbursed this year.

Assemblee Foundation BursaryMr M B Lee established the bursary scheme to support distance learning students studying social sciences, psychology and economics programmes to continue their studies. Bursaries totaling $200,000 are made available annually.

BOCHK — OUHK Bursary Since 1996, the BOCHK Charitable Foundation has contributed $50,000 annually to provide ten bursaries of $5,000 each to business students with financial needs.

Bursary Fund for New ArrivalsThe Fund was established to provide access to higher education for new arrivals with financial difficulties. The Fund is supported from Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP and various members of the community.

Bursary Fund for Prison InmatesThe Fund was initiated and established by OUHK Honorary University Fellow and former Council Member Professor Tam Man Kwan in 1994. This year, support from enthusiastic individuals and organizations including Mr Leung Chun Cheung, Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP, Rotary Club of Wanchai, Tin Ka Ping Foundation Limited and Dr Vincent Woo Wing Fai was received.

Bursary Fund for Students with DisabilitiesTo help students with disabilities to study at OUHK, the Fund was established with contributions from various members of the community. Donations from Mr Leung Chun Cheung, Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP and other philanthropists were received this year.

The Charitable Foundation of Mr Cheng Chung Shing & Mrs Cheng Tsui Tsu Ping BursaryThe Charitable Foundation of Mr Cheng Chung Shing & Mrs Cheng Tsui Tsu Ping established this bursary scheme to support needy part-time students in 2007. This year, a total of $5,000 was disbursed.

Dr Charles Lee Yeh Kwong BursaryDr The Honourable Charles Lee Yeh Kwong, Pro-Chancellor and Honorary Doctorate recipient of the OUHK, has donated $570,000 since 2002 to support prison inmates and needy students. His bursary donation amounted to $20,000 this year to support students with financial hardships.

Dr Hector Ma BursaryDr Hector Ma has donated four annual bursaries of $5,000 each to needy students since 2011.

Fu Man Yuan Ltd Bursary Fu Man Yuan Ltd has made a pledged donation of $150,000 in 2013 to support needy students with annual bursaries totaling $50,000 each year for three years.

Great Eagle Holdings Limited Bursary The Great Eagle Holdings Limited established a 3-year bursary scheme to provide annual bursaries amounted to $40,000 each year for distance learning undergraduate students enrolled in arts, education, environmental studies or related programmes.

The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Bursary The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants started offering four bursaries of $5,000 each in 2012, aiming to relieve the financial burden of needy undergraduate students in accounting programmes.


新昌 ─ 葉庚年教育基金信託人法團助學金新昌—葉庚年教育基金信託人法團本年度捐設十五個助學金共八萬七千六百元。該基金自1994年起每年捐贈助學金，總額達一百三十九萬四千一百八十元。

譚杜慈善基金助學金譚杜慈善基金於1992年捐款一百萬元成立永久基金，以利息收入為清貧學生提供助學金。本年度派發助學金合共四萬一千八百五十三元。

利希慎基金有限公司助學金利希慎基金有限公司於1992年起先後向本校捐款共五百萬元成立永久基金，每年以利息收入提供約二十萬元的助學金，支持有經濟困難學生繼續學業。

香港公開大學校友助學金校友獎學基金成立於2001年，獲校友及社會各界捐款支持，每年派發助學金六萬元。

香港公開大學李冠春教育基金助學金本校榮譽博士李志喜資深大律師自1999年起為有需要人士捐設助學金，2006年成立「香港公開大學李冠春教育基金」，為在囚、殘疾、長期病患及新來港人士提供更多援助。本年度派發助學金共五十萬元。

頂運有限公司 — 舒小佩「在職爸爸」助學金本校榮譽院士舒小佩校友捐款一百萬元成立助學金，為就讀本校遙距課程的在職父親提供經濟援助，每年派發助學金共六萬元。

李鉅能助學金本校榮譽博士李鉅能博士於2007年捐款五百萬元成立李鉅能教育基金，每年派發助學金共計二十萬元，資助清貧學生繼續學業。

譚林秀梅助學金榮休校長譚尚渭教授於2001年捐款十萬元設立助學金，紀念其先慈譚林秀梅女士，其後續添資助。現每年派發二萬八千元助學金，讓四至五位清貧學生受惠。

田家炳基金會助學金田家炳基金會自1996年起每年捐款六萬元資助在囚人士進修，另外亦捐款二十四萬元助學金予清貧學生，至今共捐款一百四十四萬元。

惠友基金助學金鄭俊雄校友於2012年捐款十萬元，每年派發助學金一萬元。

新界祟德社助學金新界祟德社由2001年開始為有經濟困難的女學生提供助學金援助，現每年派發助學金一萬元。

除上述的贊助人外，公開大學亦感謝黃國致先生慷慨捐款支持本年度的一般助學金。


The Incorporated Trustees of Hsin Chong — K N Godfrey Yeh Education Fund BursaryThe Incorporated Trustees of Hsin Chong — K N Godfrey Yeh Education Fund donated 15 bursaries totaling $87,600 this year, bringing its total contribution since 1994 to $1,394,180.

Jessie and Thomas Tam Foundation BursaryJessie and Thomas Tam Foundation contributed $1 million to set up an endowment fund in 1992 to provide bursaries with the interest yield. This year, a total of $41,853 was granted.

Lee Hysan Foundation Ltd BursaryLee Hysan Foundation has donated $5 million since 1992 to set up an endowment fund to provide annual bursaries of about $200,000 to students with financial difficulties.

OUHK Alumni BursaryThe OUHK Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund was established in 2001 to offer scholarships and bursaries to outstanding and needy students. Bursaries totaling $60,000 were disbursed this year.

The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund BursaryOUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP has donated bursaries starting from 1999. She furthered her support in 2006 by establishing ‘The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund’, making available bursaries for students with chronic diseases in addition to existing beneficiary groups. A total of $500,000 bursaries were offered this year.

Regal Fortune Limited — Katie Shu Sui Pui Bursary for Working FathersHonorary University Fellow of the OUHK and alumna Ms Katie Shu Sui Pui donated $1 million to set up the bursary scheme and disbursed $60,000 to working fathers studying distance-learning programmes.

Solomon Lee BursaryOUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient Dr Solomon Lee donated $5 million in 2007 to establish an endowment fund. Bursaries totaling $200,000 are made available annually.

Tam Lam Sau Mui BursaryEmeritus President Professor Tam Sheung Wai donated $100,000 in 2001 to set up the ‘Tam Lam Sau Mui Bursary’ in memory of his late mother and furthered his support throughout the years. Bursaries amounted to $28,000 is made available each year to benefit four to five students.

Tin Ka Ping Foundation BursarySince 1996, Tin Ka Ping Foundation has pledged an annual donation of $60,000 to provide bursaries for prison inmates studying at the OUHK. It also provided bursary grants amounting to $240,000 for needy students. The donations have totaled $1,440,000 to date.

Tree of Eight Foundation BursaryAlumnus Mr Leo Cheng donated $50,000 in 2012, making available a bursary of $10,000 for students of distance-learning programmes every year.

Zonta Club of The New Territories Bursary The Zonta Club of The New Territories has donated bursaries to support female students with financial needs since 2001. Annual bursaries totaling $10,000 are made available.

葉謀遵研究獎學金本校榮譽院士葉謀遵博士捐款五十萬元，為修讀哲學碩士或博士課程的優異生提供獎學金，每個獎項相等於每年學費的一半。

瑞安建業有限公司獎學金瑞安建業有限公司於2000年捐款十五萬元成立永久基金，為環境學的學生設獎學金，每個價值一萬元。

永隆銀行助學金永隆銀行慈善基金有限公司於2008年捐款一百萬元成立永久基金，以利息收入設助學金，每年派發五千元助學金約六個。

Chiang Chen Industrial Charity Foundation ScholarshipChen Hsong Holdings Ltd and Chiang Chen Industrial Charity Foundation (Hong Kong) Ltd have donated annual scholarships for students in electronics and engineering mechanics, materials and design programmes since 1997. Two awards of $22,500 each are offered every year.

The Croucher Foundation The Croucher Foundation extended its emergency fund to the OUHK in 2002 to help students with emergency financial needs to continue their studies.

Environmental Project PrizeY H Yau & Associates Ltd and Enviro-Chem Engineering & Laboratory Co Ltd donated $20,000 and $50,000 respectively to the OUHK’s ‘Environmental Research Fund’ in 1997 to set up prizes of $3,000 each for outstanding students in the course ‘Environmental Project’.

Ho Kwan Yat Education Fund ScholarshipMr Ho Kam Lai donated $150,000 in 1997 to set up the ‘Ho Kwan Yat Education Fund’ in memory of his late father Mr Ho Kwan Yat. The Fund yields interest to provide scholarships of $10,000 each to outstanding distance learning students.

Hong Kong and Kowloon Electrical Appliances Merchants Association Scholarship The Hong Kong and Kowloon Electrical Appliances Merchants Association made a donation of $100,000 in 2001. The interest return is disbursed as scholarships of $5,000 each to distance learning students who achieved excellence academic result.

Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management ScholarshipThe Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management has donated a yearly scholarship of $5,000 since 2003 to recognize outstanding students majoring in human resources management.

M T Geoffrey Yeh Graduate Scholarship OUHK Honorary University Fellow Dr M T Geoffrey Yeh donated $500,000 to provide scholarships for outstanding research degree students who demonstrated academic excellence in the MPhil or PhD programmes. The value of each award is equivalent to half of the annual tuition fee.

SOCAM Development Limited ScholarshipSOCAM Development Limited donated $150,000 in 2000 to set up a perpetual scholarship fund at the OUHK to provide scholarships of $10,000 each for outstanding environmental studies students.

Wing Lung Bank Bursary Wing Lung Bank Foundation Limited donated $1 million in 2008 to set up an endowment fund to provide scholarships and bursaries with the interest yield. It is expected to provide around six annual bursaries of $5,000 each.

Zheng Jian Peng ScholarshipAlumnus Mr Zheng Jian Peng donated $180,000 to establish a 3-year scholarship scheme for the final year undergraduate students of full-time accounting bachelor’s degree programmes. Three scholarships of $20,000 each are provided annually.

我非常榮幸今年度獲頒利銘澤黃瑤璧慈善基金所捐贈的獎學金，這個獎項無疑是對我所

付出的努力的一種肯定和鼓勵，令我感到無比興奮，謹以此函表達無限感恩之忱。

我於中七畢業後，縱使成績理想，由於家庭經濟狀況的原因，不得不罷學而投身社會，

往後幾年一直為生活而奔波，及後在得到朋友的介紹下，加入了一間大機構工作，奈何

因為學歷不高，一直只能擔任下層的職位。為了更好的前途；為了完成我未完的學業夢

為了讓父母一嘗兒子是大學生的心願，我決心努力儲錢，矢志要成為一位大學生。

在

2011年報讀了公開大學的學士課程，展開了我大學的旅程。

在這三年半的時間，我利用公開大學課程靈活的特點，在不影響我工作的大前提下，努

力學習新知識，亦認識了許多志同道合的同學，豐富了我的人生。雖然這段時間要同時

兼顧工作和學習，但我非常享受這段充實的日子。今天，我畢業了，父母為我感到自豪

，

朋友亦為我感到高興，我真的感謝公開大學對我的支持。當然，我亦非常感謝利銘澤黃

瑤璧慈善基金對我的鼓勵和肯定，我從未想過我這個預科畢業的人亦能得到此等榮譽。

今後我定必會利用空餘時間，找機會多去幫助社會上的弱勢社群，幫助他們在學業上進

步或在生活上成長。另外，我也會以自身的經歷作為例子，鼓勵身邊的親朋好友要持續

進修，希望能擔任他們學習生涯的燈塔，正所謂「己立立人、己達達人」。

今年很幸運地獲派發二零一五年四月學期「全費助學金」，讓我可以繼續完成香港公開大學的課程，在此要向助學金的贊助機構福滿源有限公司致以衷心感謝。

我是一個家庭主婦，丈夫是長期病患者，家中亦有一對年幼的子女要照顧。然而，為了不與社會脫節，我曾在一所小學擔任兼職功課輔導員。眼見現今很多孩子未懂得珍惜光陰和學習的機會，令我回想起自己曾經也是這樣，白白浪費了很多時日。為了追回已浪費的光陰，並希望自身的學歷能有所提昇，遂決定報讀香港公開大學的文學士課程，重新投入學習，積極裝備自己，期望日後能為社會作貢獻。

過去我一直認為金錢非萬能，可是缺乏金錢，的確令我無法完成許多事，儘管我如何努力亦無濟於事，夢想亦只能成為泡影。因此，我真的十分感謝福滿源有限公司的幫助，使我可逐步實現夢想。我承諾今後會更認真學習，努力考取佳績，不枉費贊助人的熱心資助。

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for being selected as one of the recipients of the Connie Scholarship this year. The award represented an affirmation of my effort and enabled me to rediscover my passion for learning.

I began learning Cantonese at the age of 15 in San Francisco, yet I did not realize at the time that setting that process in motion would ultimately become a lifelong passion and career. My studies at The Open University of Hong Kong have allowed me to bridge the gap between my self-taught linguistic and cultural knowledge and that taught in the classroom and shorten the distance between my wishful thinking and a realized dream.

I a m cu rrently tea ching Manda rin, Chin ese Cu ltu re, a nd English for Spea kers of Other Languages at an international boarding school in New York. And whether it is my intellectual cu riosity, enthusiasm for education, or ideas for cu rricu lum development, I am consta ntly reminded of how much I have learned and grown under the tutelage of my instructors at the University.

I am much appreciated that the generous schola rship from Miss Connie Fong gives me the opportunity to further my studies in the field of translation and linguistics, using my uniquely bilingual and bicultural background to continue to bridge the gap between the Chinese and Western culture. I assure that I will make every effort to ensure that the scholarship is used to cultivate critically-thinking, culturally-sensitive students who eager to expand their world views.
