The two sides will make full use of UK-China Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Network (SAIN), in order to facilitate the implementation of the Action Plan for UK-China Cooperation on Food Security, explore approaches and methods of assisting other developing countries in increasing food security through UK-China cooperation, promote sustainable agricultural development of the two countries, and contribute to strengthening global food security.

i. Place the emphasis on increasing policy and industry impactsii. Embrace the concept of “sustainable intensification” in its work, iii. Function as a network to spread existing and new knowledge, technology and
best practice.iv. Include research into how innovation and technology in agriculture supports
social and economic growth, and the environmental and health benefits v. Explore the extent to which trade between China and the UK contributes to
sustainable intensification.vi. Provide a “shop window” to enable academics, policy makers and business
people to demonstrate the benefits and successes of cooperation between the UK and China
