Sentinel:  Security  for  Everyone    Sentinel,  a  unique  mobile  application   form  MindHelix  Technosol  aims  at   creating  an  improved  security  cocoon  around  our  users  enabling  quick  responses,  easy  and  clear  communication,  and  accurate  distress  response  in  case  of  emergency.    Sentinel  is  available  for  iPhone,  iPod,  iPad  and  Android,  which  combined  together,  caters  to  almost  90%  of  all  smartphone  users.  A  limited  functionality  Sentinel  is  available  for  BlackBerry  as  well.        Usage  Scenarios  

 For  the  End  User:     i.   When  you  are  in  trouble  and  you  need  to  alert  people  fast.       ii.     When  you  need  people  to  reach  you  r  exact  location  fast.     iii.   Alert  family,  friends,  employer  and/or  even  police.     iv.     Accurate  monitoring  of  your  status  by  multiple  well-­‐wishers.     v.     Receive  location  sensitive  crime  alerts.     vi.     Add  security  information  about  the  places  you  visit.      Sentinel,  the  mobile  application  to  improve  the  personal  security  of  the  people  has  been   designed   with   ease   of   use   as   the   core   theme.     With   all   emergency   actions  locked   onto   a   single   aesthetically   designed   button,   Sentinel  makes  multiple   alerts  with  critical  data  as  simple  as  a  button-­‐press.  Literally.      Action:  The  Sentinel  Alert-­‐button  takes  information  about  the  accurate  location  of  the  user,  the  direction  of  travel,  speed  and  even  mode  of  travel  and  creates  alerts  that  reaches  the  well  wishers  in  multiple  forms.,  

i. Phone  calls  to  friend,  family,  and  employer  to  enable  instant  action  ii. SMS  with  location  URL  to  see  live  location  feed.  iii. Email  with  location  tracking  and  map  pin  with  exact  location.  iv. Live  tracking  information  via  Website.

Design:  The  application  is  created  with  a  color  scheme  that  has  been  scientifically  proved  as  stress  reducing  colors.  The  silver  tended  blue  color  of  the  application  automatically  gives   the   user,   who  may   be   in   a   state   of   nervousness   a   sense   of   calm  which  will  prove  to  be  critical   in   improving  their  own  security.    As  opposite  to  an  app,  which  has  bright,   garish   colors,   Sentinel   improves   the   response   time  of   the  people  using  the  application,  induces  calm  and  creates  better  response.      

     Sentinel  requires  you  to  enter  the  correct  details  about  yourself  so  that  people  can  find   you   in   case   of   emergencies   and   the   service   works   with   100%   efficiency   to  improve  your  safety.    Your  own  picture  enables  the    emergency  contacts  to  quickly  identify  you  in  case  of  multiple  people  with  identical  names  are  in  their  contact  list.      The  user  can  add  Emergency  contacts  directly  into  the  screen  or  choose  from  their  contacts.  A   complete  profile   is   imported   including  a   thumbnail  of   the   contact.  The  contact   addition   requires   i)   Picture,   ii)Phone  Number   and   iii)   email   to  work  with  complete  efficiency  but  it  can  work  without  picture  or  email.

     The  main  screen  of   the  application   is  simple  and  purpose  built.  The  “alert”  button  can   send   alerts   to   well-­‐wishers.     A   small   time   delay   enables   the   user   to   quickly  cancel  an  accidental  alert.  Disabling  the  alert,  once  generated  is  password  protected  to   ensure   better   safety   for   the   user.     An   accidental   alert   or   a   change   in   security  situation   also   generates   SMS,   Emails   and   Phone   calls   that   alerts   the   emergency  contacts  about  the  changed  security  status.    A  simple  settings  screen  enables  the  user  to  add/edit  the  Emergency  contacts,  view  their  contact  details  etc.      Media  Listen  to  the  phone  call  alert  from  Sentinel.      Watch  the  Sentinel  Use-­‐Case  Video  :    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ_C0DtXJec    The   application   is   available   in   the   iTunes   Store   and   Android   Play   Store.   Weekly  updates   take   care   of   bugs,   new   and   awesome   features   and   improved   user  experience.      Download  App
