TwentySecond Sunday in Ordinary Time| Vigésimo Segundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

This weekend we begin the catechesis for first

communion with 34 of your children, confirmation with

28 youth, adult religious education, and Sunday school

for children 3 to 6 years of age. Each Sunday from

10:30am to 11:45am your family has the opportunity to learn more

about your faith. Chris Makris is the first communion coordinator,

assisted by 6 catechists: Dinorah, Eduviges, Maggi, Theresa, Rosa,

Amy and Aida. The Confirmation program is coordinated by Jessy

and Juanita. The Sunday school for children is coordinated by

Aurora, Luisa, Michaela and Arely. The Spanish adult education is

taught by Lourdes and Raul and the English Adult education is

taught by Delphine. I am very grateful to these parishioners for

taking to heart the mandate of Jesus of “teaching and proclaiming

the Gospel.” They are also doing one of the spiritual works of

mercy of ‘teaching the ignorant.’ I asked that we do two things to

support their mission: First, pray for them each day and thank them

for their service. Second, come and be part of any of these classes

and continue to learn about your faith. September 17th is known

worldwide as “Catechist Sunday” and during all masses that

weekend we will be introducing our catechists and blessing them in

a special way for their mission. Let us remember that we all have

the mission to teach each other about Jesus Christ and His Gospel

and it is at the Holy Mass each Sunday that we are reminded and

renew such reality. St. Teresa put it very simply when she said:

“Christ has no hands, feet or voice but YOURS.”

Este fin de semana empezamos la catequesis para la primera

comunión con 34 niñas y niños, la confirmación con 28 jóvenes, la

catequesis para niños de 3 a 6 años y las clases para adultos en

inglés y español. Cada domingo de 10:30am hasta las 11:45am

usted con toda su familia tienen la oportunidad de seguir

aprendiendo más acerca de su fe cristiana-católica. Chris Makris es

la coordinadora de primera comunión con la ayuda de las

catequistas Dinorah, Eduviges, Maggi, Theresa, Rosa, Amy y

Aida. El programa de confirmación estará siendo coordinado por

Juanita y Jessy Villalobos. Las clases para los niños de 3 a 6 años

estará siendo coordinada por Aurora, Luisa, Michaela y Arely. Las

clases para adultos en Español serán ensenadas por Lourdes y Raúl

y las de ingles por Delphine. Yo estoy muy agradecido con estos

feligreses que has escuchado el llamado de Jesús de “enseñar a

todas las naciones su Evangelio.” Así mismo también cumplen el

mandado de la iglesia de “enseñar al que no sabe.” Les pido a

todos que apoyemos a nuestros catequistas de la siguiente manera:

Primero, oren por ellos y agradézcanles por su misión de ensenar, y

segundo, asistan a las clases que se estarán dando todos los

Domingos y así puedan aprender más cada día. El 17 de septiembre

es el día del Catequista y durante todas las misas estaremos

conociendo y bendiciendo de una manera especial a todos nuestros

catequistas. Recordemos que todos los bautizados tenemos la

misión de enseñar el Evangelio de Jesús a otros y todos los

Domingos en la Santa Misa recordamos que Jesús nos manda a

seguir su misión en la tierra. Santa Teresa lo dijo así: “Jesús no

tiene manos sino tus manos, no tiene pies sino tus pies y no tiene

voz sino tu voz.”

Altar Server If your child has received First Communion and is interested in joining the ministry of Altar Servers, there will be a sign up sheet in the back of the church on the 16-17 of September after each Holy mass. The Altar Server training will be on the 30th of September from 10 am—12 pm. Please contact the office for more information! This is a very good opportunity for your children to be closer to God and to be more involved in our parish.
