Now, inheriting the great history of both series, a new advanced turbo compressor has been released.That is "�" series, in which the essence of IHI rotary machine technologies is concentrated. All parts consist of essential technologies of IHI Full close Full openInlet guide vane(IGV)With the inlet guide vane (inlet throttle valve), air supply can be controlled in accordance with consumption. Further, the inlet guide vane enhances efficiency by providing preswirl flow to the air taken into the compressor in the same rotative direction as the impeller.
Tilting pad journal bearingTilting pad journal bearings, which realize high-speed and stable operation, are adopted. Pad tilt will change in accordance with bearing load changes, which provides excellent compliance with load changes in the compressor.
Labyrinth sealFor the gas seal and oil seal, the labyrinth type, which has no contact with the shaft, is adopted, so there is no wear resulting from operation and no periodic replacement is required.
ImpellerThe three-dimensional impeller, designed with the full use of IHI's rich experiences and up-to-date CFD technologies, has realized the world's top-level efficiency and a wide operating range. Since high intensity stainless steel is used as material, it is unnecessary to worry about wear and corrosion.
DiffuserThe speed energy of air generated from the rotation of the impeller is efficiently converted into pressure energy by the diffuser installed in the perimeter. Coupled analysis with the impeller inhibit turbulence to an utmost extent and provides high efficiency.

2. The graph shows the range of discharge gas flow at the pressure ratio indicated. Selection according to any pressure ratio and discharge gas flow is possible.

Non-package type
A compressor that can process a number of processes with one unit. Since the driving machine, lubricating oil system, and other modules are used in common, space or the equipment used for maintenance and inspection can be reduced.
Combined type
Equipped with 6 high-efficient open impellers to respond to user requests for high pressure ratios. There are various available models, including oxygen compressor, nitrogen compressor, recycle nitrogen compressor, and booster compressor.

Optimal control pursuing further ease of use
・All-in-one control of the auxiliary equipment and attachment valves required for the compressor.・The touch panel graphically provides much easy-to-understand information.・Simple and easy operation by reducing operation buttons.
We can confirm the operation condition correctly by checking the display of compressor flow (systematic chart).
Important measurement data for maintenance, i.e., data on the discharge pressure, motor current, and shaft vibration of the compressor, can be displayed on graphs, which is expected to contribute greatly to maintenance planning.
A complicated process of starting the compressor can be operated safely and easily without reading the procedure.

Special design according to user requests
・IGV control range (constant-pressure control range)Discharge air flow is adjustable by IGV Opening/Closing. IGV is controlled to keep discharge line pressure constant.
・Load/Unload control rangeWhen consumption of air flow decreased, compressor turns into Unload operation automatically. And next, when discharge line pressure decreased, compressor comes back to Load operation automatically.
1A dual control system created by combining advantages of "constant-pressure control" and "load / unload control." Energy saving operation has been realized with efficient compressor control at each operation point.

■Overload protection control of the main motorIn case of excessive air consumption and changing of intake air condition, motor overload may occur. It can avoid reducing the load automatically by closing operation of IGV. This "Overload protection function" is provided as standard.
IGV is controlled according to an amount of plant air consumption. In this case, discharge pressure is kept constant and operation condition of compressor is kept stable too.When air consumption become lower than the throttling range of IGV, discharge pressure is kept by controlling of blow off control valve.
When consumption of air would change between 0% and 100% under constant pressure condition, compressor is controlled into stable condition.

Parts and components for customer's safety
The technologies employed are supported by the experiences and performance accumulated over the years, and each part is provided with the measures for ensuring safety and reliability.
Oxygen compressor
Through the results achieved in manufacturing and designing geared turbo compressors for air/nitrogen and oxygen gas, IHI was able to build upon its process gas compressor manufacturing know-how and as a result can provide highly efficient and reliable geared turbo compressors for hydrocarbon gas.

Gas seal
Sealing gas is supplied from the gear box side to prevent oxygen from flowing to the gear box.Further, leak collection is conducted in stages.
Gas seal
Gas sealing type is Dry Gas Seal.Sealing gas is supplied from the gear box side nozzle, and mixture gas is sent to flare stack or returned to suction side.
Silver is the most flame-retardant material among all metals, so the gas seal and the impeller shroud are coated with silver in order to prevent ignition resulting from emergency contact.
Designed so as to prevent casings from contacting with the pinion shaft by determining the optimal gas sealing and shroud ring opening in accordance with high-precision vibration analysis.
