1. Launching the Service Manual

Double-click the [My Computer] icon to open it and then double-click

the [CD-ROM drive] icon.

Double-click the [index] or [index.html] icon in the [data] folder on the

CD-ROM.

Double-click the [Service Manual] icon on your desktop using the

method explained in "2. Setting up the Service Manual icon."

Once Windows has started, insert this CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive and it will start

automatically, with the Service Manual TOP displayed.

When the [AutoPlay] dialog is displayed, click on "Run rundll.exe."

★ If the Service Manual TOP is not displayed automatically, or if you want to re-start it after

shutting down, use either of the following methods:

★ A PDF file is used for the Daihatsu Service Manual and to display the contents, Acrobat 5.0,

Acrobat Reader 5.0, or a higher version is required.

If the contents are not displayed properly, follow the on-screen instructions from the Service

Manual TOP to install Acrobat Reader 5.0.

2. Setting up the Service Manual icon

To open the Service Manual TOP with one click, create a desktop icon using the following

procedures. This has to be done only once after you use this CD-ROM.

After Windows has started, insert this CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

If the Service Manual TOP is displayed automatically, as described in "3.Shutting down

the Service Manual," choose [Close (C)] from the [File (F)] menu and shut the program

down.

Double-click the [My Computer] icon to open it and then right-click the [CD-ROM drive]

icon and select [Open].

Click the [setup] or [setup.exe] icon in the folder.

Once the setup is done, a [Service Manual] icon is displayed on the desktop.

3. Shutting down the Service Manual

To shut the program down, click the [×] at the upper right corner of the page, or choose

[Close (C)] from the [File (F)] menu.

4. Basic controls

When the mouse cursor is placed over a clickable region, the pointer changes to finger-shaped

cursor.

Use the Acrobat bookmarks function, the Acrobat tool button at the top of the screen and the

index on the left of the screen to view the desired pages.

On the top page, click on your preferred language.

On the next page click on the manual from the list being displayed.

Acrobat Reader will launch, displaying the chapter index on the left and the manual's contents on the right.

★ If Acrobat Reader is not displayed in your browser, uninstall the program and reinstall it. If

Acrobat Reader is still not being displayed, consult the FAQ in the [Readme.txt] file in the

[data] folder on this CD-ROM.

With the contents of the manual displayed, the following operations are available:

Click [TOP] on the upper right of the page to jump to the first page.

Click [Manual Selection] on the upper right of the page to jump back to the specific

model's list of manuals.

Click the chapter index shown on

the left of the page to jump to the

first page of the chapter.

To open a link page in a new

window, from the [File (F)] menu,

choose [New (N)]-[Window (W)]

to open an additional window

before clicking on a link icon.

Alternatively, you can open the

manual in a new window by

choosing [Open in New Window

(N)] directly from the right-click

menu.

When items are displayed in the bookmarks window in the middle of the page, clicking

on these will take you to the corresponding page.

Using the Acrobat tool buttons at the top of the screen, you can print the manual, search

by string, jump to pages, zoom settings, show the bookmarks window, etc.

Click any of the 8 to 9 buttons, to view your browsing history.It is convenient to jump to pages that have been displayed previously when you have jumped to other pages using bookmarks or links.8 Jump to the previous page displayed9 Jump to the next page displayed

Select the page number indicated by 13 to directly access a page, enter the page number, and press the [Enter] key to jump to a specific page.

Using the bookmarks feature In addition to the chapter index, a table of contents is displayed on the left in Acrobat Reader.The mouse cursor changes to a finger shape when placed over a bookmark. Clicking on the finger shape will open the corresponding page. This feature is called bookmarks.(Some of the manuals do not contain bookmarks.)

When you want to view the contents in a wider format, you can hide the bookmarks by clicking the [Show/Hide Navigation Pane] button indicated by 1. To show the bookmarks, click the 1 button again.

When a + symbol is displayed to the left of the bookmarks, this means that the bookmarks have a hierarchical structure.

Clicking the + will show the lower structure.On the other hand, clicking the - will close the lower structure, displaying only the higher structures.

When there are too many bookmarks to be displayed on the screen, use the right scroll bar to scroll up and down.If the wording of the bookmarks is too long to be displayed on the screen, place the mouse cursor on the border line so that it changes the shape and drag this to adjust the width of the display area.

Changing display magnificationWhen you click the zoom-in tool indicated by 3, the mouse cursor changes to a magnifying glass.Each time you click the screen with the + mark displayed, the screen will zoom in.Additionally, specifying an area by dragging the mouse with the + mark, will zoom the screen in so that the selected area occupies the entire viewing area.

After selecting the zoom-in tool, indicated by 3, pressing the [Ctrl] key causes the + symbol in the magnifying glass to change to a - .Each time you click the screen with the - mark, the screen will zoom out.Additionally, specifying an area by dragging the mouse with the - mark, will zoom out until the page is displayed in the selected area.

Display magnification can also be changed by clicking on the 10 to 12 buttons.10 Displays in actual size.11 Fits the whole page to the window.12 Fits the page width to the window.

★ If you click the [OK] button without specifying a range of pages, all pages will be printed. Ensure

that the [Print Range] is specified properly before printing.

6. Printing the Service Manual

Click the Acrobat Reader [Print] icon in the Service Manual.

In the [Print] window, specify the range of pages to print in [Print Range]

before clicking the [OK] button.

To print the page to fit the paper, for example to print a document in legal size or tabloid

size, check the [Fit to Printer Margins] checkbox.

If the document does not print properly, for example when the fonts are garbled, check the

[Print as image] checkbox. (This form of printing will take longer than usual.)

The window that is displayed varies, depending on the version of Acrobat and the printer being

used.

TIPS

★ The Service Manual cannot be printed properly by using [Print (P)...] in the browser's [File (F)]

menu. Please use the print procedures given above.
