Various roles are held within an auxiliary, and it takes the

teamwork and dedication of all the volunteers within the

auxiliary to see successful outreach accomplished. Along

with the director, liaisons for each program work with

national regional coordinators merging the bridge

between the national and state levels to provide much

    needed assistance and resources.

Working as a team, each person brings their own

strengths and talents to the table helping the auxiliary to

move as a single well oiled machine. It is the diversity of

the volunteers that help to make such an outreach

    successful.

The Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. Auxiliary

program takes our national programs to the

state and local levels, enabling our recourses

to touch law enforcement families in every

corner of our nation and beyond.

  • Being the MD director of such an amazing organization is priceless. It makes me feel amazing

to be able to support and help LE families. ~ Angie Trice, MD Director~

The auxiliaries do various forms of

    outreach for the different WBTB

    programs, putting hands in motion

to help offer not just emotional

    support to law enforcement

families, but physical help as well.

Outreach is offered in a variety of ways. From attending

academy graduations to share support information to

new LE families, to hosting or participating in a

fundraiser designed to specifically assist a family in

need after a critical incident, the auxiliary program

extends a hand to assist in whatever way necessary.

    Year round events

    including blood drives,

    online T-shirt sales,

    National Police Week,

    National Thank A Police

    Officer Day, partnering

    with agencies for Heroes

    Behind the Badge

Screenings, along with more intimate events such as

Coffee With A Cop or Tip-a-Cop fundraisers are just a

small portion of what the auxiliary program has to offer.

Not only does it extend a hand out, it extends a hand

across bringing support to the volunteers within the

auxiliary then crossing state lines into the others as our

program liaisons and auxiliary staff members have the

opportunity to forge friendships and bonds bringing

    internal support.

    HANDS IN MOTION

  • Meet Officer Eligia Then of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. It is under unfortunate circum-

stances that we had the opportunity to meet with Senior Corrections Officer Then as she was brutally as-

saulted by a male inmate in February 2014, but

we are honored to have the chance to meet this

    influential young corrections officer.

SCO Then is engaged to a supportive and loving

aspiring officer. and the mother of two boys, six

year old Ethan and three year old Tristan, and

mom to their dog, King. Hands down she recom-

mends Olive Garden as her favorite restaurant to

    anyone visiting New Jersey.

It is challenging to be a female corrections of-

ficer, but she has always dreamed of being in

law enforcement since as young as she could

remember. As a child Eligia Then looked up to

police officers she knew personally. One in par-

ticular was her uncle. He was a detective with

the New York City Police homicide unit. He use

to come to my house to learn from us kids how

best to be undercover by asking how kids these days walked and talked,

Eligia shared. He was a really fun person to be around.

In 2012, her dream became a reality as she was accepted into the New

Jersey State Corrections Police Academy Class 226. Prior to position

with the Department of Corrections, she had relevant experience working

security. When Corrections Officer Then first graduated, she had many

memorable experiences. Memories that she thoroughly enjoyed included

the K-9 inspections. Just watching the dogs walking through the prison being so serious just doing their

job was amazing, she said. The New Jersey State Department of Corrections has their own police K-9

Unit on the grounds that performs regular inspections for the safe-

ty of those on the area.

Within the course of a corrections officers job her daily duties

begin with taking counts of all inmates for the day and logging all

equipment. After her counts have been cleared in and all inmates

are secured in the building, SCO then starts on assignments

where inmates are taken to their activities. Some inmates have

school, some come back from recreation time, and some have

medical services, SCO Then reported. Each day they also have

what is referred to as a mass movement where all inmates are

transported together at the same time going to and from to certain

activities, like lunch. Other responsibilities include monitoring the

activity of the porters that are in and out of the units to clean the

cells. SCO Then is in charge of keeping track of one hundred and

four inmates in her unit on a daily basis.

    Story by Noelle Butler

  • HEROIC WOMEN CONTINUED

Saturday, February 1 Eligia Then reported to

work as just a normal day. As SCO Then was

running the shower assignments, a new fairly

new male inmate in her unit who was a normally

quiet and submissive to officers had attacked

her. It seemingly came out of no where and

happened so fast, she said. It was an inmate

that SCO Then stated she would not have

expected, but sometimes there is nothing you

can do when they lash out. She shared the

advice to other officers to be prepared to handle

yourself no matter what circumstances until help

can arrive and to always be on your toes. By

the time help arrived, SCO Then could only

remember briefly being choked, and she now

suffers from a traumatic brain injury and has

    deteriorative cognitive motor skills.

Several news media sources have reported the

incident as a severe beating, but that is taking

the situation lightly. Eligia has a constant pressure

in her head and has a diagnosed traumatic brain

injury making it impossible to perform daily chores

such as grocery shopping and even having a full conversation as she has lost her short term

memory. It is eye-opening to see how this one incident has changed her life forever.

Despite all of the hurdles, SCO Then is attending therapy and diligently working on recovery

to return to the Department of Corrections. I love my job and my new goal is to return to work

to progress on to the K-9 unit. On behalf of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. we wish Eligia

Then a speedy recovery and the best of luck in her future aspirations.

To assist SCO Then and her family with hospital bills and expenses, consider donating to her

benefit hosted by the New Jersey Corrections

Chapter of the National Coalition of Latino Officers

and New Jersey Auxiliary of Wives Behind the

Badge, Inc. on April 12, 2014 at VFW in Trenton,

    New Jersey.

Thank you to Officer Matthew Schuman of New

Jersey Department of Corrections for making this

interview possible. And thank you to those

    representatives present: PBA #105 President

Lance Lopez, Commissioner Gary Lanigan of New

    Jersey Department of Corrections .

  • My life is forever changed and I have a greater appreciation for what these men and women do, for what they experience and for what they have to live with for the rest of their lives.

    March 6, 2014

10-8 is code for In Service. To a lot of people, that means an officer is at their office,

aka patrol car, running traffic or such. Today, 10-8 took on a whole new meaning for

me. Today, I got a greater appreciation for what my husband and every other officer

has to deal with. Today, I got a dose first hand of HOW PTSD creeps into your life.

    Today, my life changed forever.

I had a feeling last night that it was going to be a hell on earth type of day when my

husband told me that he and 722 were going to pull trash for suspected dope at 4am.

I was up and down all night and early morning, but when it came down to it, I start-

ed my day like I would any other. Getting the kids up for school, morning tasks, so

on and so forth. I knew that he would be tired when he came in after being out like

he was. I got the text that he would be home around 12:30 and be going 10-7 for the

    day.

After eating lunch, my husband started in on some homework he needed to do as he is in college working towards his BA. We started hearing some noise outside that sounded like someone was working on a project, loud banging and a popping, but it didnt make sense because we still have snow on the ground and more was in the forecast. When he got up to look out the window, he yelled at me to call 911 because the house across the street from us was on fire. While I called, he was throwing gear back on, grabbing a fire extinguisher and heading out the door.

The house was engulfed within moments. There was no possible way that it could be saved. A bit later, I hear the front door slam open and he yelled for my oldest son and I to get out of the house, that with the north wind the sparks were threatening to hit our house. As my oldest works nights, he was asleep and had no idea as to what was even happening. While I was throwing on better clothes for cold winter, I had him gather up computers and the cats and get them out. I then got a bag and collected all of the work gear that my husband had left on the dresser.

    10-8 WITH THE CHIEF

    TOO CLOSE TO HOME

My husbands department has a ride along policy. This enables me to go on

what I call Ride Along Date Night. In all actuality, it enables me the

spouse of an officer to see his training first hand, sometimes even up close

and personal, and in doing so, it has given me a greater appreciation for

    how well-trained he really is.

There are many discussions that take place during these ride alongs. We

have discussed everything from 10 codes to what we are going to buy the

    kids for Christmas.

To say the least, every time I go out with him, it is a new learning experience

for me. The more I learn, the more I understand the different things he

deals with on the streets. It not only helps me as a LEOW, it helps me in my

roles with WBTB to encourage and support other spouses. Especially those

whose spouses departments may not have a ride along policy.

This column is the insight and ramblings of Lahoma Police Chief Wife, and

Shield Editor, Melisa Cross. All content is from personal perspective and

not that of the Lahoma PD.

  • FOREVER CHANGED Time passed in the cold, and we were finally given the all clear. That was when he broke the news that this was now a crime scene and there was a 22 year old girl inside.

Words cannot express what those words did to my system. My oldest son just turned 21 years old. What

if we had looked when we first heard the noises outside? Could we have gotten her out? But more than

that, I later found out that this was a troubled girl that my husband had worked with, had tried to help

numerous times but that connection wasnt made until hours later.

As snow began to fall on the scene, I turned my attentions to helping get the first responders coffee, and

one of my boys and I made cookies to give them something to keep their energy levels up with the cold,

snowy weather that fell on them while they worked. This is the moment that my life changed. This is the

moment that my mind went into protection mode and started throwing up walls. This was when I saw a

small portion of what they deal with. I went to my bedroom window to see if my husband was where I

could let him know there was coffee for the guys and looked out just as the medical examiner was moving

the body. As soon as the initial shock wore off, I instantly thought, HOW do they deal with this? Acci-

dents, fires, unattended, suicide. HOW, do they process and move through life seeing the things they

see? My perception just underwent a MASSIVE change in my understanding of him needing to be alone

and not talk about things even when Im TRYING to help him. I understand now his need to decom-

press without me hovering over him and NEEDING to fix it and make it better. And now more than

ever I am thankful for organizations like Safe Call Now and Serve and Protect, and documentaries like

Code 9: Officer Needs Assistance dealing with PTSD. And now more than ever I understand it s very

REAL out there for them. We can talk

about it, we can watch it on TV but

until it hits you in the face first hand,

we DONT know how real it is for

them and we CANT comprehend the

pain that dwells behind that badge.

My life is forever changed and I have a greater appreciation for what these men and women do, for what they experience and for what they have to live with for the rest of their lives.

    AFTER

The day after the fire, a critical

    indent debriefing was held.

While I can not disclose what

was said behind those doors, I

    can say this.

The seeds of PTSD are very real

and they take very strong root

    within a persons emotions and

    mind. No matter how okay

think you are be sure to take the

time to attend a debriefing, or if

    your agency does not provide

one, contact your chaplain or an

agency such as Serve and Protect

to talk about how this event has

    imprinted on you.

It is not just you that this will

help, but it will help your family

as well. It is easy to say that

    work isnt brought home, but

    critical incidents do not check

    themselves at the door. They

    follow you home.

  • Name: Juli McCoy

    State: Maryland

Family: husband Jason, daughters Audrey (almost 6!) and Amelia (2and everyone knows it), Izzy (the pup)

Interests or Hobbies: hunting, being outdoors, computer things making graphics, learning new programs, crafts, reading, working out

Talents: juggling (as in a career, two kids, volunteering and being in school)

Occupation: Assistant Director for a business-funded not-for-profit association that covers a region of three states and five counties focused on economic growth and prosperity.

    Greatest Achievement: becoming a mom

    Favorite Food: ice cream

Juli wears many hats for Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. She joined the organization as a volunteer in MD in 2012 and in 2013, she became the Grants Officer. In October 2013, Juli was asked to serve as a member of the Board of Directors and to step into the role of Director of Marketing and Public Affairs.

When asked what WBTB means to her, Juli shared that WBTB was an unrealized necessity in my life. My husband had been in law en-forcement for a little over three years when I stumbled on the organization. I was elated that the forums were there to confirm some of the questions, fears, doubts and obstacles I had been living with. I immediately became part of something and no longer felt alone as a police wife. When I was asked to take on the different roles within the organization at a national level, I was excited to tap into my creative side, but also honored that my professional background and experience was giving me an opportunity to gain management skills. I have made friendships that have become invaluable to me and had no other opportunity been presented, those friendships alone are worth more than gold.

Juli has been in her position as Assistant Director for The Greater Cumberland Committee for nearly thirteen years and is thankful for the opportunities the job has presented her. She is currently continuing her education (again) in the computer programming field and is always excited to learn new things.

It is clear that, although very busy with WBTB, work and school, Julis main focus and number one priority is always her children. An issue during her second pregnancy resulted in many lifestyle changes and a new appreciation for each and every day. Starting the day with a resolution to be positive and a prayer of thanks to God for a new day is what keeps this proud LEOW going. 8

  • 1.How did you and your DH meet? We "met" on MySpace...My best friend & DH went to high

school together, her & I were MySpace-creeping one night after I was stood up by another guy & I thought

DH was gorgeous!! I sent the first message, we chatted back & forth then officially met about a month later

when we did a double date w/my best friend & her boyfriend.

    2. How long has your DH been in law enforcement? He has been an officer for almost 10 years.

    3. Tell us about your family (kids, pets, etc) DH & I have been married 5.5 years, together 7.5.

We have two beautiful babies, a 4.5 year old DS & a 15 month old DD. Rosie is our 18 week old German

Shepherd/English Mastiff puppy. We both come from big families so our parents, siblings, in-laws & nieces &

nephews are very important to us.

    4. Tell us a little about what you do. (Job, volunteering, etc.) I 'm a 911 dispatcher, have been for

8 years now. I'm involved in the MI Auxiliary. I am a part time student, going for my Associates in Arts,

which I have about a year left (going part time, that is). The MOM title keeps me plenty busy, as do the

WIFE, DAUGHTER & SISTER titles I proudly wear.

    5. How do you see WBTB helping LE families in the future? I have met some of the most amazing

women through WBTB. I think that WBTB allowing us wives to "meet" via these forums has brought a lot of

light to some of the pleasant & not so pleasant parts of being involved in the LEO life. It has taught me the

need for support for not only my husband but also for my fellow LEOWs & myself. I think that WBTB will con-

tinue to promote healthy, good support in the years to come & I'm very excited to be a part of that.

    6. Tell us a fun fact about your family. My DH & I have a shot glass collection we started during

our honeymoon - we get a shot glass at every big attraction we go to or any town we vacation to. As a fami-

ly, we have a pressed penny collection we started on our first vacation as a family of 4 last summer. We are

up to about 30 shot glasses in the last 5.5 years & 50 pressed pennies - mostly thanks to Disney World be-

ing our second family vacation & they have those machines EVERYWHERE!

are huge favorites. DH & I love to go antiquing. I love taking pictures & plan to take a photography class to

    expand on that.

    7. What is your dream vacation destination? I would love to travel across country in a

motorhome, seeing all the major attractions & attractions off the beaten path that not a ton of people know

    about.

    8. What is the most unusual call your DH has been dispatched to? Big dog in the yard, caller was

scared it would attack. Get there...Nope, not a dog...Two big ol' raccoons in the yard...Bow-chicka-wow-wow

-ing...And DH could not get them to stop their deed & move at all!! He apologized to the homeowner, said to

let them finish & left giggling like a little girl. (Continued on page 11)

    9. What is your favorite movie genre and why? I love chick flicks...Nothing like a good ol' love story to

give ya the warm fuzzies!! Comedies & action movies are up there too but I love me some chick flicks.

    10. What are some of your hobbies? I LOVE DIY stuff. Boating, gardening, enjoying the sunshine &

summertime are huge favorites. DH & I love to go antiquing. I love taking pictures & plan to take a photography

    class to expand on that.

    11. Are you with your state's auxiliary? Do you hold an auxiliary staff position? Yes, I am w ith the MI

Auxiliary. I have been working with our director as a department liaison.

    12. What is your biggest pet peeve? When people bounce their legs...Working in a dispatch center, a

lot of my coworkers do it when they have something hot going on. When I see someone do it, it causes anxiety,

like something bad is happening because I equate it with hot calls in Dispatch!!

    13. Any other fun facts/info that you'd like to share with everyone? I was born on my great-great-

grandma's 100th birthday. She was born Jan 21st, 1887 & I was born Jan 21st, 1987. She ended being the

oldest living person in Guinness Book of World Records just before she passed away in 2002 at 115 years old.

    14. It's the famous you're stranded on an island question: 3 things you have to have with you? This is

hard!! I would say something to start a fire with, a blanket & clean water.

  • Each month a big sister is chosen for the Big Sister of the Month, recognizing her dedication to the big sister program.

About 2 years ago, I was looking for a support system. I was

really new to the LEO lifestyle, having no family nor friends

involved in law enforcement. I had no clue what I was doing, or

how to keep my family strong through all the hardships

associated with the job. When I found Wives Behind the Badge, I

was amazed at the positive vibe that was overflowing in every

post and every comment. There were no complaints, only

obstacles and productive suggestions on how to overcome

them. There was a genuine outpouring of LOVE and

sisterhood. These ladies welcomed me with such open arms that

within a few short months I was volunteering. I now hold a

national position with the organization and serve on the Board of

Directors. To say I believe in this organization and what they do

is an understatement. I not only believe in every one of these

ladies, but I love them with all my heart.

  • Lucky #13, Colorado The Colorado Auxiliary has been an

amazing source of support for officers

across the state during very difficult

times over the last couple of years. The

    auxiliary has responded to

    departments during line of duty

    deaths, the devastating Colorado wild-

fires of 2012, and the Century 16

movie theater shooting in Aurora that

shook not only the state, but the

    nation as well. Aurora Police

    Department presented Wives Behind

the Badge with a plaque thanking the

volunteers for their response to that

    incident.

The Auxiliarys very new director Ilona (and soon to be LEOW in June 2014) is

excited to hit the ground running and do more amazing things for the law

enforcement community in Colorado. I have been so eager to meet other

women who are involved in the law enforcement community and I feel that there

is so much that we as individuals could do to give back to the families and

officers who sacrifice everything for their communities. In the last few months

we have had several Colorado officers badly injured in the line of duty and I

think that just reinforces what we do and why we do it. Nothing in life is

guaranteed and it's organizations like Wives Behind the Badge that provide a

shoulder to lean on for those in the LE community during rough times.

Ilona, along with assistant director/social media liaison Laura, and volunteer

Amy are very excited to put their heads together and plan some upcoming events

to show support for the states law enforcement officers and their families. If you

would like to get involved and help spread this auxiliary across the state, please

  • Blue Line Kids is a program centered around the lives of police kids. Through our forums and local events, we hope to create a fun, educational, and supportive group for our kids.

March 12, 2014 Girl Scouts celebrated their 102 birthday. Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia on March 12, 1912. Girl Scouts are famously known for their deliciously irresistible cookies, but they are also recognized as building leaders out of our young women and encouraging community service, much like our law enforcement officers mission.

Wives Behind the Badge forum member Jenn Arcuragi is a proud law enforcement officers wife and mother of three inspirational young women. The youngest leader Jaelynn is a Daisy (ages 5-7) and this is her first year with the Girl Scouts. Jasmine and Joslynn are in their second year with the Girl Scouts and first years as Brownies (ages 7-9). The girls have high hopes of fulfilling careers in prominent roles including: zoologist, police officer, fashion de-signer, veterinarian, nurse, president and even a teacher. A trend can be seen in this career aspirations as young adults with jobs in service to others.

Proud mom, Jenn Arcuragi is an Assistant Leader with a girl scout troop consisting of eight girls. Being a first year leader It is pretty hard, but . . . Weve had so much fun learning with our girls and trying to teach them as well. Mrs. Arcuragi loves knowing that any of the girls in her troop can look to her for help and relates her encouragement she gives to these girls to the support system she has received though Wives Behind the Badge.

    BLUE LINE KIDS

MEET OUR VERY OWN WIVES BEHIND THE BADGE BLUE

LINE KIDS -- THE ARCURAGI FAMILY

When Families Behind the Badge was created in the spring of

2011, Wives Behind the Badge wanted to also create a safe and

fun environment for the children of law enforcement officers.

We wanted a place, a forums section on the Wives Behind the

Badge forums, for kids ages 9 to 17, where they could safely

gather to meet other kids living the same lives they live, as police

kids. After much thought and consideration, Blue Line Kids was

    born.

Blue Line Kids is not only a forum, but also a program centered

around the lives of police kids. Through our forums and local

events, we hope to create a fun, educational, and supportive

group where our kids feel comfortable and welcome and find

    lasting friendships.

    Girl Scouting

    builds girls of

    courage,

    confidence, and

    character who

    make the world

    a better place.

  • Their troop dedication is outstanding and the girls have high hopes to really make an impact with their earnings. They have sold over 1,2000 boxes of cookies and still have several more booths booked through the end of March. [Girl Scouts] really help[s] the girls want to stay involved, Jenn said. Their troop has had a Winter Wonderland where the girls did crafts and games, a Cookie Rally where the girls constructed many projects and got to taste cookies. They have also had the privilege of attending a dance and are now working on joining a day camp.

Being a new troop, they took advice from the average statistics and ordered 100 boxes of cookies for each booth they had set up. At first they were only selling 50-70 boxes per event and Mrs. Arcuragi was worried that they would be stuck with A LOT of cookies. Her husband, Officer Arcuragi of Camden Police Department, Ohio told a fellow officer and his wife who was also a trooper leader, and she immediately stepped up to help them sell their leftover boxes allowing the girl scouts to be able to have fun with their earnings. Mrs. Arcuragi refers to her LEO family as a the real heroes in coming to help one another. I love sisterhood and Girl Scouts helps with that so much, I love seeing girls who normally didn't talk to each other become friends and learn that being nice and helping others is a true blessing in this world and it is really up to us to help show them that. Our service unit does a lot of activities for the troops. --

cThank you Officer Arcuragi of Camden Police Department, Ohio, for your services. And thank you Mrs. Arcuragi for letting us share your

    story.

  • Founders & committee board:

    BE THE HERO!

CampHERO is open to school age girls from Kindergarten to twelfth grade who are registered Girl Scouts. Participants engage in a pre-evaluation and post-evaluation and when asked about their favorite activities, answers range from vehicle extrication, handcuffing, and heart monitoring in the ambulance to chasing bad guys. Every activity is hands on, Jenn shared. Last year MedFlight flew in and we let the girls set up a landing zone and they got to land the helicopter as well as work with pilots, doctors and fire/ems to run the scene. Costs run from $20-$375 per girl based on what level of Girl Scouts they are a part of. CampHERO is willing to work with any interested participant on cost should it become an issue. Costs vary due to the level of activities for each age group since each session runs for different lengths. The age divisions are split up based on the developmental stages that Girl Scouts have identified. High school participants are not limited to only Wisconsin residents, but are accepted from any state. Since the high school program is a week long overnight program, girls from other states including Texas and North Carolina have participated and are welcomed with open arms in attending CampHERO. The girls travel expenses to fly them to Wisconsin are paid and they are grouped into sections where they function as a crew for an entire week learning from hands on experiences, said Jenn. Camp for high school girls run from July 13-18. To see all of their programs and options for camp, check out their fascinating pictures on their Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/camphero4girls) and the testimonals from their website (http://camphero4girls.org/Home/tabid/559/Default.aspx) from parents who have daughters that have completed the program and thoroughly enjoyed their experience. This program is nothing short of hopeful for our future generations of first responders.

Taken from the Camp Hero website: Girls need to know that they

    are smart enough, strong

    enough and brave enough to

    pursue a paid or volunteer

career as a police officer, fire

    fighter, EMT/paramedic or

    dispatcher. Nationwide,

    31.2% of EMTs and only

12.4% of police and 3.6% of

    fire professionals are female, leav-

ing girls with few role-models to

inspire and guide.CampHERO is an effort to bridge that gap by

helping girls to: discover their abilities and interests, connect

with a network of mentors and be inspired to take action in

making the world a better place through public service.

    HONORING OUR HEROES

Officer Mike Crawford of Glendale Police Department, Arizona was presented the lifesaving medal for his actions during an officer involved shooting that occurred on January 08, 2014. The Glendale Police Department shares: Officer Mike Crawford responded to an Officer Down call at 8300 Deer Valley Road and quickly discovered Maricopa County Sheriffs Deputy Ruben Garcia had been shot multiple times. Deputy Garcia had received life threatening injuries and was lying in the parking lot bleeding and unresponsive. Upon his arrival, Officer Crawford immediately jumped into action and began providing directions to the citizens who were administering continuous chest compressions to Deputy Garcia. Officer Crawford assessed Deputy Garcias medical condition and realized the application of direct pressure to the wound would help control the bleeding. This was a true emergency and Officer Crawford did not have time to don his protective equipment. Officer Crawford sustained a significant blood borne exposure by relinquishing emergency medical aid. Deputy Garcia was immediately flow, via Life Flight, to John C. Lincolns trauma center where he received further life-saving medical procedures. The suspects attempt to take Deputy Garcias life during this incident was thwarted by the exceptional action of Officer Crawford. Deputy Garcia survived this shooting and is well on his way to recovery, due to the efforts of Officer Crawford and the other first responders who provided immediate medical care. If it were not for Officer Crawfords actions, Deputy Garcia may not have survived his gunshot injuries. Officer Crawfords actions bring great credit upon himself and the men and women of the Glendale Police Department. Mike Crawford is not only a hero in the eyes of his fellow officers, but also in in the eyes of his family. Officer Crawford is a loving husband and the father of three children and three grandchildren. Thank you Officer Crawford for your exceptional services to your community.
