Altar Flowers Flowers always enhance our worship. The use of fresh
flowers is encouraged as a way of engaging in the beauty
and dignity of liturgical celebration. If you would like to
donate flowers for a weekend or special celebration please
call or email the Shrine.
Snow Policy
On Weekdays (Monday - Friday), if Boston
Public Schools are CLOSED or DELAYED, the
Shrine will have a delayed opening at 11:00 a.m.
If there is Winter weather on a Sunday, the Shrine will
remain OPEN.
The Shrine will be CLOSED if there is severe weather,
this will be announced via the Shrine website, social
media, and Flocknotes. Please be sure to follow the
Shrine social media pages: Instagram, Facebook, or
Twitter (@SeaportShrine) and sign up for Flocknotes for
the most current updates about unscheduled closings.
In response to many reports of cold and flu
illness throughout the region, the decision
has been made to eliminate the
distribution of the Precious
Blood within the Archdiocese
of Boston until further notice.

A Message from Fr. Bryan
This past week, I had the opportunity to get away for a
few days and to ski with some priest friends of mine at
Sugarbush, Vermont. In addition to enjoying ourselves
on the slopes, we also celebrated daily Mass together in
the condo and had the chance to catch up on various
things going on in our priestly and personal lives. We all
enjoyed the support and fraternity.
When it comes to living the life of faith, we all benefit
from a supportive community. In last Sunday’s Gospel,
we heard how our Lord called Simon and Andrew, James
and John by the Sea of Galilee to be his disciples. Early
in his ministry, Jesus forms a community of disciples to
assist him in proclaiming the Good News. Today’s beau-
tiful feast of the Presentation of the Lord presents us with
a picture of the Holy Family in the Temple, as Mary and
Saint Joseph present their newborn Son to the Lord, ac-
cording to Jewish tradition. This image, too, is one of a
little faith-filled community.
As you and I journey along through our complicated
lives, we need the support and encouragement of like-
minded persons: people who share our faith and values.
The Seaport Shrine is your community! Walking through
the doors of Our Lady of Good Voyage brings us into a
sacred space of welcome and acceptance, of forgiveness,
grace and strength. Most importantly, we meet Jesus pre-
sent in the Tabernacle, calling us open our hearts to His
love and friendship. As we support one another on the
journey of life, as fellow disciples, may we trust in the
presence of Jesus and all the angels and saints, ever with
us, ever by our side.
