sneak peak: how to market in 2017
TRANSCRIPT
1. Make yourself mobile friendly.
As smartphone use becomes more and more pervasive,
attention must be paid not only to how your sites perform on
computers but on phones as well. Mobile friendliness is more
important than ever when it comes to optimizing business sites,
because if your customers are having difficulty using your sites
on their phones, they're likely to look for a comparable product
elsewhere that they'll have an easier time finding.
2. Keep it succinct.
People are constantly and consistently being bombarded with
exorbitant amounts of information coming at them from all
directions, so adding content purely for the sake of content is likely
to only hurt you in the long run. Say what you want your audience
to hear as succinctly as possible to both leave a lasting impression
and keep your customers engaged throughout their experience.
3. Take a break from self-promotion.
As a business, you need to selfpromote in order to get the word
out about your company, what you do, and what you have to offer.
However, there is certainly such a thing as too much self
promotion, and it will likely turn your customers off to your
business especially if done under the guise of blog content or
customer interaction. Promote your business, but make sure to
interact with your customers as well to keep them coming back.
4. Interact with your customers.
If your customers are engaging with you on social media, engage
back! This is especially true if you're a new business and still working
on building your customer base. People like to feel acknowledged and
validated, so if your customers express a particular like or dislike with
the way you do business, address it! This will not only help you
acquire new customers, but will keep old customers coming back if
they feel as though their voice is heard.
5. Take to social media.
If you want to really draw customers to your business, social media is your
in, and it's not just Facebook and Twitter anymore. While this isn't new
news, by putting off using social media as a tool for marketing, you're
setting yourself back by not using one of the best, free ways to get your
business out there. You're also depriving your customers of easy access to
information about your business that other companies have made readily
available. If you're not social networking, now is the time to start.
