The.Lady.Spartans.ended.their.rst.year.of.district.play.last.season.with.a.loss.in.the.second.round.of.the.playoffs.to.Arlington.Heights,.and.Centennials.goal.for.2013.is.to.go.a.step.fartherCentennial.nished.in.third.place.in.District.16-4A.last.year,.behind.

Manseld.Summit.and.Burleson,.and.Coach.Kara.Cuellar.said.the.goal.this.year.is.to.move.up.a.notch.in.the.standingsMy.expectations.for.my.team.is.that.I.would.like.to.nish.higher.

than.third.place.in.district,.Cuellar.said.I.think.its.not.unrealistic.to.say.that.we.can.win.district.If.we.can.do.that,.then.thats.great.Obviously.we.want.to.go.to.the.playoffs.and.our.goal.is.to.go.further.

son,.but.the.Lady.Spartans.welcome.back.Kristina.Rodriguez,.who.missed.all.of.last.season.with.a.concussionThe.starting.line-up.from.last.year.is.pretty.much.all.back,.Cuel-

lar.said.A.couple.of.the.girls.from.JV.moved.up.They.easily.couldve.

played.on.varsity.last.year,.but.they.were.the.leaders.on.JV.We.really.have.a.full.roster.on.varsity.this.seasonThe.roster.includes.22.players,.with.two.goalies,.Cuellar.saidMy.focus.was.to.have.two.goalies,.she.said.This.year.we.want-

ed.two.full-time.goalies.who.work.together.and.train.together,.and.I.think.theyre.going.to.make.a.difference.this.year.Well.play.it.by.ear.on.who.plays,.but.theyre.going.to.split.time.right.now.If.one.is.a.little.bit.hotter,.then.Ill.probably.go.with.her.But.right.now,.I.have.a.lot.of.girls.who.will.be.splitting.time.at.the.beginning.of.the.seasonThe.Lady.Spartans.went.11-6.overall.in.2012.and.8-5.in.district.

cus.is.on.that.this.year.You.can.have.the.best.players.in.the.world,.but.if.you.cant.play.together,.you.dont.have.anything.My.focus.this.year.is.to.really.have.team.bonding.and.get.that.chemistry.together.because.if.we.have.that,.we.can.be.very,.very.good.We.have.the.players.that.have.the.ability.and.talent,.but.we.have.to.be.able.to.mesh.it.together.and.to.play.wellCuellar,.who.played.soccer.at.Louisiana.State.University,.uses.her.

personal.experiences. as.a. soccer. player. as.motivation. for. the.Lady.SpartansI.think.with.being.a.woman.and.working.with.these.girls,.they.
