Founded in 2008 by Lise Coirier and her Brussels-based creative consultancy Pro Materia, TLmag celebrates celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2018. Now entering into a new era, the magazine is a widely-recognised high-end, art and design biannual publication that captures and contextualises art & design, and connects them to the vibrant contemporary collector culture. Published in French and English, each edition focuses on a specific theme, while TLmag Online Magazine mirrors the ethos and structure of print issues with daily interviews and features which are deepening the biannual magazine’s content and enriches its critical eye and perspective. Extraordinary, diverse and abundant, TLmag advocates for authenticity, transcending different disciplines, from the contemporary applied arts, to design and photography and revealing their hidden intersections and narratives. TLmag becomes an essential resource for an ever-growing creative community – art and design-driven readers, creative professionals, artists, designers, architects, landscape and urban planners, philosophers, students, brands, art and design museums and institutions in search of precise, exceptional and unequalled creations.

Print IssuesFor over a decade, bilingual, French / English book-like issues explore specific cultural places, territorial regions, or the correlation between different creative and multidisciplinary scenes.Strategic themes reveal the connection that link leading creatives beyond their culture or practice. Each TLmag issue is divided into six or seven chapters. Special Guest interviews profile recognised and emerging figures while Stories spotlight leading brands. Excellence & Creation surveys up-and-coming talents working in various disciplines. Mix & Match features full-page photo portfolios and historical highlights to offer further inspiration. Living with Art & Design reveals private and public collections in exclusive description and image. Last but not least, Real Life translates how research and experimentation are put into practice. City reports are joins by in-depth looks at major events, culinary and travel experiences.

Spazio Nobile GalleryBy opening Spazio Nobile in April 2016, in the dynamic and cosmopolitan Ixelles neighbourhood of Brussels (Belgium), Lise Coirier and Gian Giuseppe Simeone have united their passions for design and art history, initiating a dialogue between contemporary applied arts, design and photography. Commissioning unique pieces, limited editions and installations that are both experimental and artistic, with a particular sensibility to everything nature and minerality, the gallery organises four to five exhibits each year, dedicated to both rising and established talents, without creating borders between the disciplines, the visual arts dialoguing with the fine arts.

TLmag 33: The New Age of Humanism / Spring / Summer 2019Cover design : Formafantasma
As we enter into the second decade of the 21st century, what does the role of humanism play in our society and how is it understood? What are its potential meanings, implications, and even misunderstandings in contemporary culture? TLmag 33 SS 2020 will explore The New Age of Humanism as perceived in the field of art and design, contemporary applied arts in connection with the research, scientific and conservation worlds. How is this concept defined with all the values it reflects and put into practice by some of our leading makers and thinkers today and in the future? Among its themes, TLmag 33 will look at humans and how they connect with and relate to each other, the rise in awareness towards climate change and sustainability, the transformation of materials and the attraction for more rawness, new ways of living and consuming, the connections we have with earth and the landscape, the impact of new technologies, engineering and policy making, as well as the key role institutions, platforms and places putting these themes into the forefront.
TLmag 33 SS 2020 will be co-curated by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, from Formafantasma, the Amsterdam-based design duo who have recently been appointed the Heads of the new master’s department called GEO DESIGN, at the Design Academy Eindhoven, NL and curators of the major exhibition on timber, forestry practices and production strategies surrounding wood at Serpentine Galleries, UK. Formafantasma, whose work is known for its experimental material investigations and for exploring issues such as the relationship between tradition and local culture, critical approaches to sustainability and the significance of objects as cultural conduits, are ideal partners for this issue and we are thrilled to have their critical insight. In such fraught political times and with an urgent environmental crisis, how can designers, makers, artists and thinkers contribute to this new age of humanism and most critically, put it into practice?

TLmag 34: Precious or the Geology of BeingAutumn/Winter 2020-2021 Cover design : Frederik Vercruysse
There is so much that remains precious on this earth, from a raw diamond to water resources to a thriving green forest. But there is a real phenomenon of scarcity which brings us to feel the fragility and the necessity for taking more care of what we have and what we want to transfer to future generations. For many of us, time itself is precious and for creatives, having time along with space to do their work is truly precious. TLmag 34 AW 2020-2021 will look at the theme of how the word precious can be defined and how this idea has perhaps shifted recent years as the earth itself becomes the most precious of all. The magazine will feature stories on some of Europe’s leading heritage jewellery artists and brands and how they are responsibly approaching their craft in changing times and how the beauty of jewels still captivates. As many materials become scarcer or are considered wasteful, we’ll look at how designers are developing the possibilities of organic materials in our everyday, from mycelium as light fixture to composted waste as a new form of tiling to furniture made from insects and propolis. We will look at how the importance of having time, space, and a sense of inner balance is so critical in today’s fast-moving world, particularly for artists and thinkers. We will explore analog poetry and photography, the seasons and the lunar and solar calendars, the “praise of shadows”, dreamstones,
