Die medalp group: Im Jahr 2000 haben die Geschäftsführer der medalp mit einem

innovativen Medizinkonzept eine weitreichende Entscheidung getroffen. Inmitten von

Tirols Urlaubszentren wurde auf private Initiative eine Sportclinic für Unfallchirurgie

und Sporttraumatologie gegründet. Nach kurzer Zeit war den Ärzten und den 12 Mit-

arbeiterInnen klar, dass das medalp-Konzept dem Wunsch vieler PatientInnen nach

einer schnellen, unkomplizierten und professionellen Behandlung entspricht.

Auf dieser Basis wurden 2003 die Sportclinic Sölden, 2004 die Physiotherapie im Aqua

Dome Längenfeld und 2007 die Sportclinic Zillertal realisiert.

Zehn Jahre nach dem Startschuss folgte der Neubau der medalp Imst. 150.000 be-

handelte Patienten, jahrzehntelange Erfahrung der Ärzte und mittlerweile über

100 Mitarbeiter in der medalp group gaben viel Input für die neue medalp – eine der

modernsten Sportclinicen im Alpenraum.

Ärzteteam und Mitarbeiter legen größten Wert auf beste Behandlungsergebnisse

und Sicherheit für die Patienten. Sie sollen sich bei aller technischen Qualität und

Kompetenz vor allem rundum gut betreut fühlen.

medalp - eine Idee wirdzur Realitätmedalp - eine Idee wird zur Realität The medalp group: In the year 2000, the executive managers of medalp made an im-

portant decision regarding a new innovative medical concept. With a private initiati-

ve, they founded a sports clinic with trauma surgery and sports traumatology, which

was centrally located in the midst of Tyrol’s popular ski resorts. After only a short

time, it was clear to the physicians and their 12 team members that the medalp con-

cept with fast, accessible and professional care was highly valued by many patients.

Based on the same successful concept, Sportclinic Sölden was added in 2003, the phy-

siotherapy in Aqua Dome in Längenfeld in 2004, and finally Sportclinic Zillertal in

2007.

The construction of the new medalp Imst commenced ten years after the first medalp

opened its doors. More than 150.000 patients, experienced physicians, and the now

more than 100 medalp-group staff members all helped to create the new medalp –

one of the most modern sports clinics of the entire Alpine region.

Physicians and staff place outmost importance in patients’ safety and in reaching

the best treatment effects possible. Aside from technical quality and competence, we

want our patients to feel safe and well cared for.

Our formula for success includes a satisfied and highly trained staff that works to-

gether to achieve both medical and humane goals.

The philosophy of the new medalp Sport and Rehaclinic Imst subscribe to the “one-stop-shop” principle. The same team cares for the patient from the first visit, during surgery and through post-op treatment and rehabilitation.

The first visit, x-rays and diagnostics take place at the (public insurance) practice, and are thereby accessible to all insured patients. Our physicians specialize in trauma, diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Special diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services and treatments take place at the clinic, and are covered under private accident and health insurances.

Die Philosophie der neuen medalp Sport- und Rehaclinic Imst entspricht dem „One-Stop-Shop-Prinzip“. Patienten werden von der Erstbehandlung über die Operation bis zur Rehabilitation in der postoperativen Behandlung vom selben Team betreut.

Erstuntersuchung, Röntgen und Diagnostik werden in der Ordination (Kassenpraxis) durchgeführt und sind somit für jeden Versicherten zugänglich. Das Ärzteteam ist auf Verletzungen und Erkrankungen des Bewegungsapparates spezialisiert.

Spezielle Diagnose-, Operations- und Rehabilitationsleistungen werden in der Clinic durchgeführt und können über Unfall- und Privatversicherungen abgewickelt wer-den.

Diagnostics and imaging

Der Diagnostikbereich umfasst neben den gängigen bildgebenden Verfahren – digitales Röntgen, Magnetresonanztomographie und Ultraschall – auch die Computertomographie für eine noch bessere und schnellere Diagnostik bei Knochenbrüchen und Gelenks-verletzungen.

Im Regelfall werden so schnell wie möglich – am selben Tag – die fachärztliche Dia-gnose durch klinische Untersuchung und komplexe Bildgebung erstellt und mit dem Patienten die konservativen und operativen therapeutischen Möglichkeiten bespro-chen.

Aside from the established imaging methods like digital x-ray, MRI and ultrasound, our diagnostics department also has a CT scanner available. This way we can diagnose fractures and joint injuries even faster and more accurate.

Using clinical examinations and complex imaging, our specialists diagnose the injury as quickly as possible. We then discuss the various conservative, surgical and thera-peutic possibilities with the patient – normally all within one day.

In der ambulanten Anästhesie hat die Patientensicherheit höchste Priorität. Auch auf ein Wohlfühlambiente vor und nach der Operation wird großer Wert gelegt.

Die Operationsräume entsprechen den neuesten internationalen Standards in Bezug auf technische, hygienische und sicherheitsrelevante Belange. Durch die hohe Patienten- frequenz (120.000 in den ersten 10 Jahren) und das enge Behandlungsspektrum haben die medizinischen Teams eine hohe Kompetenz und große Routine bei der Versor-gung von Verletzungen und Erkrankungen am Bewegungsapparat.

Mit bester technischer Ausstattung wird in voll digitalisierten OP‘s gearbeitet und sämtliche Operationen werden zum Zweck der Qualitätskontrolle und Transparenz video– und fotodokumentiert. Weiterbehandelnde Ärzte und Therapeuten haben da-durch wichtige Grundlagen für die weitere Behandlung. Selbst die Licht-, Farb- und Klangstimmungen werden während der Operation auf die individuellen Vorlieben der Operationsteams abgestimmt, um unter besten Bedingungen arbeiten zu können.

The safety of the patient is the main priority at the outpatient anesthesia department. We also take care to create a pleasant atmosphere before and after surgery.

The operating rooms comply with the highest international standards in regards to technical, hygienic and safety needs. Because of the wide range and high patient frequency (120.000 patients during the first 10 years), our medical teams have collec-ted an immense wealth of expertise and experience in treating traumas and condi-tions of the musculoskeletal system.

We work with state-of-the-art technical tools in fully digitalized operating rooms. All procedures are recorded (photo and video) for transparency and quality control pur-poses. This way, we can supply physicians and therapists who do follow-up treatment with important documentation. The medical team can even change the lighting, the color, and the sound in the operating room to create an ideal working ambiance.

Postoperative Behandlung

Post-surgery treatments

Im Aufwachbereich wird der Patient nach der Operation von einem eigenen Team aus Schwestern, Pflegern und Ärzten überwacht. Nach der postoperativen Überwachungsphase verbringt der Patient die weiteren Stunden in einer privaten Nachbetreuungseinheit.

Kulinarische Verpflegung nach Wunsch und in Abstimmung mit dem Betreu-ungsteam, Sat-TV und Internet am Bett begleiten die medalp-Patienten wieder in ihren Alltag. Ruhe, gutes Service und die Möglichkeit, von den Angehörigen jederzeit besucht werden zu können, sorgen für Wohlbefinden und gute Genesung.

In the recovery room, the patient is cared for by a private team of physicians, nur-ses and orderlies. After the post-op recovery phase, the patient spends the following hours at a private aftercare unit.

Individual meals in accordance with medical needs and patient’s wishes, satellite TV, and bedside Internet are medalp conveniences that make the time spent in recovery as pleasant as possible. Peace and quite, good service and the opportunity to have visitors anytime are other things that contribute to general well-being and quicker recovery.

Im Reha-Schwimmbad der medalp: Die Unterwassertherapie wird bei Verletzun-gen bzw. nach Operationen an Gelenken durchgeführt, um eine frühfunktionelle Mobilisation zu erreichen. Durch die Beschaffenheit des Wassers können Patienten Bewegungsabläufe leichter erlernen und somit Alltagstätigkeiten wieder schneller durchführen. Erfolgreich eingesetzt wird die Unterwassertherapie auch bei Wirbel-säulen- und neurologischen Problemen.

Subaqual therapy in medalp‘s own rehab-pool: We use sub aqual therapy after traumas

and surgeries in order to quickly and gently mobilize the injured joints. Because motions

are easier to practice in water, we find that our patients can return to everyday chores fas-

ter after having trained in water. Sub aqual therapy has also proven successful in treating

spinal and neurological conditions.
