united in sacraments and prayer, reaching out to the extended community. With God’s revelation of Himself in Scripture as our guide,

we strive to grow in His Spirit and to fulfill the promise of Christ’s Kingdom.

A MOTHER’S DAY PRAYER By Joann Fuchs

Mom, if I could talk to the Lord above I’d pray to keep you safe in His warm embrace. In every minute, hour of each day, I pray that you’ll be blessed in every way. Mom, you’ve given everything to me; You taught me how to live and how to be. I’m thinking of you, now, on Mother’s Day. I love you, Mom, much more than I can say. Lord, she has a dear heart, like no other, Lord, please take good care of my sweet mother and all the mothers of the world.

Remember, too, all our moms and grandmothers in heav-en getting the place ready for us. We miss you and love you.

Thanks for all your prayers over the years. Keep up the good work.

Dear Friends,

Happy Mothers' Day to Moms, God-mothers, Grandmothers, Spiritual Mothers, and those who care for children!

We are sooooo proud of 7th grader, Lauren Kuipers, who went to the STATE SCIENCE FAIR IN CHAM-PAIGN! At the time of this writing, I don't know her scores, but we congratulate her, her parents, and Mrs. Echterling for her advancement to state!

We are sooooo proud of our second grade students and their teacher, Mrs. Hess, who celebrated First Eucharist yesterday, May 11. Our children have all received a spe-cial Prayer Card from Cardinal Francis George. It has a beautiful picture of our new Pope Francis and a special prayer for First Communicants. We congratulate the entire First Communion Class and sincerely invite Reli-gious Education Families to consider St. Ann School for their children. We have some Financial Assistance available, especially for families who are active in our parish.

We are hosting two additional Open Houses for fami-lies considering St Ann for their young children. Please spread the word: We will welcome visitors to Pre-School through Grade 3 on Tuesday May 14, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and on Wednesday, May 22, from Noon-2:00 p.m.

You are all invited to our Living Rosary/May Crowning on Thursday, May 16, at 1:00 p.m. This is a beloved tradition in every Catholic School.

Get those General Mills Box Tops for Education in by May 17, and you could win tickets and a parking pass to the Sox/Cubs Game on May 28. We thank Rosemary Duda and her sister, Donna Spagnola, for this opportuni-ty!!!

God bless you and yours during this lovely month of new life, budding trees, flowers, and Our Blessed Moth-er.

Ministry Spotlight Under the direction of Fran Miller, members of the Ministry of Consolation offer support to those in our parish when a loved one has passed. They call the family of the de-ceased and ask if they need help planning the mass for their loved one, and also assist at the Funeral Mass. The group visits the funeral home, where they host a prayer service. They also help plan All Souls Mass.

The Ministry of Consolation is seeking parishioners of all ages to help. If you are interested in joining, please con-tact the Parish Office at 895-6700.
