gain understanding of religion, emphasising spiritual development apart from moral, intellec-tual, physical, communal and aesthetic areas. We believe religion can help our students be guided by their conscience.

In St Louis, two key students’ organisations, Prefects’ Association (PA) and Student Activity Association (SAA) are set up, in which students can maximise their leadership potential. The chairmen of PA and SAA are elected by the students directly. Also, the activities held by them are widely accepted as having good quality.

1966. Prefects are not only responsible for carrying out the disciplinary work but also organising a variety of activities such as Thanks-giving Nite and Fu Chi Shield Competition.
我們學校有兩大學生組織 —— 學長聯會和學生活動協進社,讓學生發揮領袖潛能。兩組織的主席均由中五學生經投票選出。歷年所籌辦的活動甚孚眾望,廣受好評。
�anksgiving NiteThanksgiving Nite is an annual variety
show held in Sheung Wan Civic Centre. Performances including junior choir, various solo instruments and drama are organised by PA so as to express their gratitude to the school.

Student Activity Association (SAA) was established in 1973. It aims at empowering clubs and houses functions so as to ensure that all activities and inter-house competitions can be held smoothly.
�e Joint School Leadership Training Camp (LTC)The Joint School Leadership Training
Camp (LTC) is an annual summer project organised by the SAA since 1979. Last year, it is a great honour for us to have invited Our Lady Of The Rosary College to co-organise a four-day training camp having 130 participants at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

會社制是我校特色。學生入學時會被編入不同會社(白、紅、綠、藍、橙五社其一)。社委由高年級生擔任,負責籌辦活動(同樂日、迎新日),組織社員參與各聯社比賽(水陸運會、各項球類比賽、常識問答及文藝創作比賽等)。會社制使學生以賽會友,交流砥礪,同時激發他們的爭勝心,使之團結一致。

Shamrock, Thistle and Tulip are a traditional feature of our school. Each student belongs to a respective house. Students from the senior forms take the initiative to be the committee and organise activities (such as fun days and orienta-tion programmes) for the junior house members. They also encourage their house members to take part in various inter-house competitions (such as Swimming Gala, Sports Day and other sports and cultural competitions). The house system provides opportunity for students to develop a sense of belonging and unity to their houses.

Fr Deane Achievement AwardTo recognise students’ willingness to serve and
strive for excellence, Father Deane Achievement Award (FDAA) was established in 2009. Applicants can understand our long-established school tradition and relentless endeavour.
A three-year training programme is launched this year (fully subsidised by the committee). In the �rst year, we run the following activities:

積極向上、樂於服務他人的學生,同時希望學生藉競逐獎項深入了解我校傳統堅毅韌長、自強不息的精神。
為了進一步幫助學生成長,本年增辦了三年制培育計畫(費用由委員會全數資助),首年內容包括以下四方面︰

Professor Patrick Sung, Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Yale University, was our ’76 graduate. To return to his Alma Mater, Professor Sung organises a three-week intern-ship in his laboratory for our selected students, allowing them to conduct DNA experiments with a group of elite researchers.
現任耶魯大學醫學院分子生物物理與生物化學教授宋明華乃1976年畢業生。為了回饋母校,宋教授特意籌辦暑期研習班,供被甄選的學生在其「宋氏實驗室」交流三星期,由科研人員指導進行各種有關DNA的實驗。

Medical Link was formed by a group of medical and dental graduates. To o�er guidance to students who are aspired to join the School of Medicine at local universities, a two-year Academic Enhancement Scheme fully subsidised by SLOBA is launched this year. Seven teachers have been invited to be advisors of di�erent subjects.

strive for excellence, Father Deane Achievement Award (FDAA) was established in 2009. Applicants can understand our long-established school tradition and relentless endeavour.
A three-year training programme is launched this year (fully subsidised by the committee). In the �rst year, we run the following activities:
Mentorship (one-to-one guidance from old boys graduated between 60s to millennium) Visits (Nanhai Zhong Xue, Christian Zheng Sheng College) Apprentice Day Heritage Excursions

Every year, co-organised with the Parents-teachers Association, our school provides a ten-day English Bridging Course for S1 new comers to adapt to the English learning environ-ment. The course adopts an interactive approach to familiarise students with the use of daily English conversation, English vocabulary in di�erent school subjects and reading skills.

St. Louis Old Boys’ Association (SLOBA) has always been providing robust and consistent support to the school. In recent years, SLOBA has coordinated alumni to facilitate personal, academic and extra-curricular development of students.
Personal development Mentorship programme is organised, with
old boys from di�erent professions (including accounting, engineering, management, etc.) as personal mentors to provide professional assistance for fellow students.
Luncheons are held regularly for alumni to share inspiring life experience with students.
Academic support Extra �nancial support is provided to further
enhance small-class education in English Language.
Scholarships have been set up as recognition for academic excellence.
Mock interviews are organised for S5 and S6 students to prepare them for university entrance.
Individual counselling is given to students to prepare for public examinations and applica-tions to overseas universities.
The ‘Medical Link’ is established to allow students who are interested in a medical career to gain advice from practicing doctors.
Extra-curricular experience Professional coaches are hired for St. Louis
school teams. St. Louis School Youth Club is sponsored and
advice is given. Financial support is o�ered to students
from less-privileged families to gain “OtherLearning Experiences” under the 3-3-4 curriculum.
