Firewood: To help prevent the spread of harmful insects, use only (a) firewood sold at the specific Minnesota state park or recreation area where it will be burned or (b) the types of approved firewood listed at mndnr.gov/firewood.

Hammocks: Minnesota state parks are hammock friendly, as long as there is only one hammock per tree, it is hung over a mowed area, trees used for support are at least 12 inches wide, and hammock straps are at least 1 inch wide.

Check for Changes: Weather, construction, staffing and other variables may impact what is offered at a state park. A park will post visitor alerts on their web page so you can prepare for a great experience.

Accessibility: Facilities identified above as accessible may not all meet current ADA standards and not all accessible facilities are listed. For more information, please call the parks.

Fishing: Minnesotans do not need a fishing license to fish at most state parks, and most parks also have free fishing equipment available.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Wi-fi: Many parks now have Wi-fi, but access may be limited to certain areas. To find out where it is available, call ahead or ask when you arrive.

Drones: It is unlawful to land any aircraft, including drones, within the boundaries of any state park, recreation area or wayside.
