The University of Jyväskylä (JYU) offers high-quality, research-based master’s degree programmes in English in its fields of special expertise. International students are welcome to apply to the two-year programmes, which lead to an officially recognised master’s degree and qualify for doctoral studies. Tuition is free for EU/EEA citizens. For other students tuition fees range from €8,000 to €12 000 annually depending on the programme.

I chose JYU because the CEM programme,

combining business and environmental studies, fits my interests and ambitions perfectly. The best thing about my studies is the relaxed and interactive learning atmosphere. Moreover, Jyväskylä is a modern city with beautiful nature. And you can never be bored as there are so many different activities organized for students.

The Graduate School for Doctoral Studies educates professionals in research, helping them become competent and versatile experts in various fields for the needs of society. | www.jyu.fi/graduateschool

Orientation programme is designed to help new international students settle in and get to know one another, the University and the city of Jyväskylä.

Student tutor is assigned to each new international student. Their task is to acquaint new students with campus life and to help them with practical study-related questions.

Friendship family programme is a great opportunity to learn more about Finnish culture and experience the Finnish way of life outside the campus.

Language courses are arranged for international students both before and during the academic year, ranging from intensive beginners’ courses to advanced levels.

Extensive free time activities including sports and exercise opportunities as well as music and culture events at JYU are almost limitless!

Get to know the University with your tutor and the Finnish way of life with your friendship family, take up new sports or languages, and enjoy cultural events!

The University of Jyväskylä offers non-degree programmes and courses with instruction in English for exchange students in a variety of fields. All students from our partner universities are welcome to apply for student exchange positions within the frameworks of Erasmus, Nordplus, ISEP, North-South-South, Becas Chile, Science without Borders or the FIRST programme, or as part of a bilateral exchange agreement.
