technique for moving different products andmaterials; fragile, awkward, compact orporous objects with flat, spherical, angled,curved or uneven surfaces. Suction cupscan handle objects weighing from a fewgrams to several hundred kilograms.

Leakage occurs in a system when one or more suctioncups do not contact the object being handled. This mayhappen in applications where the number, the position orthe size of the objects to be lifted vary. Usually a largevacuum pump is used to cope with the air leakage and tomaintain the vacuum level. The result is an inefficientsystem in terms of energy and capital costs.A better solution is to use fittings with valves. The valvesstop or reduce the leakage so that a smaller moreappropriate vacuum pump can be used to decreaseinstallation and operation costs.

Choosing the right SOLVAC vacuum pump when using afitting with dual flow control valve. The pump should beable to cope with the maximum leakage flow or theinduced air that flows through the restriction. The air evacuated by the vacuum pump can only flowthrough a small opening (restriction). Even if the suctioncup does not make contact with the object, the leakagewill be minimal and the system will not be affected to anysignificant degree (a). When the suction cup makescontact with the object, only the cup's own volume has tobe evacuated and the vacuum is created rapidly (b).When the object is released, air opens the built-in flapvalve in the fitting and flows through a larger opening.The object is thus released very quickly (c).Caution: Fittings with dual flow control valves can beassembled on suction cups from 20 to 50 mm indiameter. They are used only when lifting objects madeof non-porous material.

GENERAL INFORMATION
A suction cup adheres to a surface when thesurrounding pressure (atmospheric pressure) ishigher than the pressure between the suctioncup and the surface of the object. To create thelow pressure in the suction cup it is connectedto a vacuum source. The lower the pressure, thehigher the vacuum in the suction cup - resultingin increased lifting force.진공패드는 물체 표면과 진공패드 내부의 압력보다

Rapidly moving objects have additional dymanicforces arising from acceleration anddeceleration. In this case, we recommendmultiplying the object's weight by a minimum of2.5 when calculating the size of the suction cup.

The object to be handled can have different shapes andsurfaces. The application may also involve specialrequirements such as level adjustment or separation ofthin objects. Do not hesitate to contact us for moredetailed information.
Suction cups should not be exposed to unnecessarilyhigh vacuum levels. Too high vacuum levels will causeunnecessary wear and require more energy. With anincrease of the vacuum level from 60-kPa to 90-kPa thelifting force increases by 20-40% while the energyrequirements are increased by a factor of 10.Since the lifting force is directly proportional to the areaof the suction cup, it is better to maint-ain a lowervacuum level and increase the area of the suction cupwhen more lifting force is required진공패드는 고진공을 이용하여 불필요하게 에너지 소모량을

Recommended vacuum level to use -60kPa(-450mmHg) 가장 효율적인 진공도There are several reasons why -60kPa is the optimum vacuum level to use with vacuum pads. The energyrequired creating -60kpa is low in comparison to that required generating -90kPa. The additional lifting force thatcan be achieved between these two levels is not that high, considering that it takes approx ten times as muchenergy to create the -90kPa level. If a vacuum circuit is designed to run at -90kPa then clearly there is very littlecapacity left in the pump performance, thus no margin for error. Lastly vacuum pads running at -90kPa adhere tothe surface with far more contact force, hence stressing the pad much more, which will result in premature wear ofthe pad itself.
