“Let’s” yapısı bir şeyler yapmayı önerdiğimizde kullanılır.

“Let’s” den sonra fiil yalın halde olur.

Let’s go to school. (Hadi okula gidelim.)

Let’s play chess.

( Hadi satranç oynayalım.)

Olumsuz yaparken “Let’s” den sonra “not” getirilir.

Let’s not eat a lot.

(Hadi çok yemeyelim.)

Aynı zamanda bu yapıyı teklif ve ricalarda da kullanabiliriz.

WHY DON’T WE ….?

Why don’t we …? Bir önerinde bulunma sorusudur. ‘Neden bu işi yapmıyoruz’ anlamı taşır. Yani “isterseniz bunu yapalım” demektir. Bu manada “Let’s” ile aynı anlama gelir.

The film is boring. Why don’t we go out?

(Fim sıkıcı. Neden dışarı çıkmıyoruz?)

A: Your sister likes flowers. So why don’t you buy some flowers for her birthday?

B: That’s a good idea.

A: Why don’t we listen to music?

B: Let’s listen to music.

Bu yapılar, yine bir şeyler yapmayı önerdiğimizde kullanılır. Bu yapılardan sonra fiil “-ing” eki alır. “Bunu yapmaya ne dersin? gibi bir anlama gelir.
