Sevilla Fantastic Film Festival


WHAT are we going to do? Support horror & scifi audience development as a means of stimulating interest in and improving access to European audiovisual works in particular through promotion, events and movies.


When? Halloween week. We want Susto to take place in the same week where everybody, school and University focuses on the fantastic genre.


WHO is our core Audience: •  Geek/Nerd audience who loves to see another genre besides

drama, they are moves by fast paced literacy like horror and sci-fi. Love to see films/tv shows based on literacy like Game of Thrones or Hunger games and are really into comics and Star Wars movies and merchandising.

•  Young audience who are willing to go in group to the cinema, and they rather prefer to see a horror movie to have fun in group. Ex. Paranormal Activity Audience.


WHO is the other audience we want to reach out: •  Women: we really want to encourage during the festival

females who want to show a different view through the horror and sci-fi genre. And during the whole process we want to engaged female audiences who love fantastic genre and who don’t have the opportunity to see this kind of movies/events in Seville.

•  General audience: who is willing to have another kind of events besides the typical well knows events in Andalucia more related with Tourism/Food.

•  Official Competition Features & Shorts: movies that compete for the main awards of the festival.

•  Fantastic Women: Special section where at least the writer and the director must be a woman

•  Horror-land: special section where we are going to see horror/scifi films focused in a concrete country each year. 2016 - French horror/scifi movies.

•  Inauguration Gala.

•  Closing Gala.

•  Sustito: last day of the festival there will be a screening of a movie children and families.

WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES For Both Audiences: Instagram 15 seconds competition with a horror short movie. The team must have a Director, Producer and Writer at least. 50% of the team must be women. The social competition will have the hashtag, #Sustoin15seconds


WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES Horror short stories in 35 mm During the festival we are going to present the book “Fantastic short stories in 35 mm”. This would be the second entry in a series of books related to cinema and the art of filmmaking, the first one being the already published “Short stories in 35mm” / “Relatos en 35mm” . So, as stated, for the festival we are working to release the second part, dealing with three main points: •  Cinema and the art of filmmaking •  Fantastic Stories. •  Seville.


WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES Secondary School: •  Horros Scifi Short European films/ Movie screening and after talk about the above and below the line roles in filming. Audiovisual University Activities: University of Seville Competition of best Fantastic Short film and best Short film directed by a woman. Make your fantastic short film in 48 hours.

WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES Primary School and Families Performance of the horror theatre play “Monsters”, a comedy for children, that introduced kids to the classic monsters of all time: Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mommy, etc.


WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES Young University Audience: •  Modern art exhibition focused on the fantastic genre that will be exhibit in one of the rooms available at the entrance of the festival.


WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES YouTube Competition: Mainly Female Make up Artists: •  What?: YouTube competition through make-up artist in YouTube.

•  How? Contacting the main European networks and Google Branch in Spain to bring awareness of the event. •  Why?: to bring awareness of the festival and gain non-core audience: mainly women and non geek/nerd audience.


WHAT are we going to do? ACTIVITIES •  What?: Horror & SciFi Music concert .

•  How?: Concert in Teatro Lope de Vega Theatre, one of the main building of the buildings and leading by the awarded Sevilla’s musician Jose Carlos Carmona. •  Why?: to bring awareness of the festival to gain non-target audience: adults who don’t

usually watch fantastic genre but who loves music & events.
