Presenting! President’s Message Robert Frost Continued on Page 2 This Swash Plate President’s Message will be my last before next month’s CHPA convention/annual meeting in San Antonio. In my message last month, I focused on our annual awards and recognition banquet. This month I want to focus on some of the extra activities we have planned for this annual gathering, and most importantly, our first ever Silent Auction. If you have ever organized one, you know how time consuming it is. And it requires organizational skills to bring it all together. We are fortunate that Alex and Edna Horony volunteered last spring to ramrod this event and bring it all together. Their organizational skills and can‐do attitude will make this a successful auction, and I hope you will choose to participate at our gathering. But, if you cannot attend we are working on setting up a method for you to bid “in absentia.” Here are a few items up for bid to whet your appetite: How would you like to have a front seat ride in a Cobra, perhaps in a UH‐1 Huey, or B‐Model Gunship?? The Cactus Air Force , the American Huey 369 Organization , and the Wings and Rotor Air Museum have generously donated those to CHPA as items to be open for bidding at the upcoming convention/reunion. CHPA continues to receive quite an assortment of patches from our members. These patches are displayed at our booth at HAI, Quad A, and VHPA. Several of you have donated patches, but we’re always looking for more. They are very eye catching and help us garner attention. So please dig through your old patches and if you have some you’d like to share, send them to us at: CHPA • PO Box 42 • Divide, CO80814‐0042
