    ARE LEADERS

At Taylors College Sri Hartamas, our motivation has always

been about building student capabilities; encouraging them

to discover themselves and realise their ullest potentials.

Student-initiated and student-driven projects are the norm

and highly encouraged among our students.

With wide exposure and hands-on experience, our learners

are given the opportunity to develop themselves and explore

their capabilities, in turn making them great leaders.

The Jog For Hope, an annual signature event o TaylorsCollege Sri Hartamas (TCSH) is one o the many eventsthat truly showcases the dedication o the students atTCSH. Initiated in 2009, Jog For Hope is a charity jog-a-thon ounded by the Tree Huggers Club aimed at raisingunds or charitable organisations whilst promotingcommunity service and a healthy liestyle amongstudents, sta and the surrounding community.

Led by Adrian Yong (President o the ChristianFellowship) and Chew Jia Jiet (President o the LEOClub), Give a Hand Donate to Japan is an initiative bythe students o TCSH to respond to the plight o theJapan earthquakes and nuclear disasters in 2011.

In 2012, the unds raised rom Jog For Hopesurpassed the initial target o RM7,000 by more thanthree times with a nal total amount o RM29,000,awarded to SPICES (Support or Parents, Inantsand Children through Early Services), a non-protorganisation that aids children with development orlearning disabilities.

In just 2 weeks, they managed to raise a total oRM10,000 in cash and donations in kind through amyriad o activities including selling origami cranes, ood sales and a one-day carnival.

The experience was truly a ruitul one. I have learnt the valueso competency, teamwork, communication and trust whileorganising this event.

Through this event, I elt as i I have grown much more

in terms o leadership, condence and riendships. I givenanother chance, I would denitely do this all over again.

I have learnt that there is more to organising a project andthat it takes a lot o patience and skills to nurture. Gainingthe childrens trust and teaching them something new was thebiggest accomplishment ever.
