ADCA or Asia Data Center Alliance is an
alliance of Asia’s leading data center services
providers, consisting of: CMC Telecom (Viet-
nam), AIMS (Malaysia), 1-Net (Singapore),
HKCOLO (Hong Kong), and TCC Technology
(Thailand).
ADCA’sobjectiveisaone-stop-shopofdatacenter inAsia
serving customers from industry such as governmental
organizations,banks,andbusinesses.Theallianceprovides
seamlesscrossborderservicestoenterprisesandservice
providers.Thishelpsbringinginnovationtothemarketand
leveragelocalexcellenceandregionalpresenceamong
alliance members. ADCA also seized the concept of
“GreenDataCenter”toapplywithmembers’datacenters.
“GreenDataCenterTechnology”can leadto lowerpower
consumptionandalsoreducedGreenHouseEffectwhich
resultsinproblemsof“GlobalWarming”atthemomentand
in the future.
Inaddition to thecollaborationamong leadingdatacenter
provider in each member country, this alliance also en-
hancesmembers ofADCA toget access to technology

opportunity to discuss and exchange viewpoint with Mr.
Noppadol Punyatipat, a gentleman who obtained “Quality
Personsof theYear2013”. In theHallofFameof Informa-
tion Communication & Technology granted by Foundation
ofScienceandTechnologyCouncilofThailand,Ministryof
ScienceandTechnology.He isaPresidentof Infonet (Thai-
land)GroupofCompanies,hewasanexecutiveformanywell
knowndomesticandinternationalcompaniesinThailand.
Being an expert in Thailand’s IT industry for decades, Mr.
Noppadol shared his opinion on Thailand’s IT infrastructure
and telecomunication whether it is adequate and what is still
missing at the moment.
“Thailand’sinfrastructureiscurrentlyofferedbymanyproviders.
Unfortunately users rarelymake use of it. This is because
providers build infrastructurewhich results in capacity but
theutilizationisnotmuch.Therefore in reality Thailand does
not “Lack in” IT infrastructure and telecomunication. What is
truly missing is the collaboration in government and private
sectors. They should turn to each other and invest on IT
infrastructure which will benefit people instead of having a
competition. This is for services with smartly lower cost of
investment.”
“More importantly, government sector should be a modera-
tor tomanage theusageof IT infrastructure tobe in formof
“EconomyofScale”whichwillhelpreducecostofinvestment.”

“Iwish to see theefficientapplicationof IT resourceswith
emphasisongivingconvenienceandassistanceforpeople.
In particular for “AutomatedSystem”which in thepastwe
witnessed the success ofmany system utilizations e.g.
E-Revenue Systemby theRevenueDepartment. This is
consideredarevolutionaryeraofonlinetaxformsubmission.
Thisconsiderablyhelpsprovideconvenienceandsavestime
forpeople.TheautomationsystemalsoincludesCarLicense
Renewalatservicepoints.Allsystemsdonotneed“World
–Class”guaranteebuttheyshouldbepracticalwithreason-

“Moreover, Thailand still lacks in building innovations and
commercializing them. The importance is governmental
bodiesmustinspirebothpublicandprivatesectorsonthese
mattersandsupportResearchandDevelopmenttobemore

Thailand should focus on copyrights and patenting
including having non – plagiarism of idea,
innovation, or technology from others.”
