THE RIVERWOOD FESTIVAL

Riverwood Community Centre’s Autumn Fair is held annually in the month of March. Enjoy

entertainment, rides, the op shop, book stall and food - the fair is fun for all ages!

YOUTH SERVICE Caters for the needs of young people aged 12-

18, and includes sporting, recreational and educational activities, school holiday

programs, advocacy, information or referral for issues related to education, employment,

housing, health and family.

CENTRAL SYDNEY SOUTH REGIONAL TENANT PARTICIPATION RESOURCE

SERVICE The TPRS is a Housing NSW initiative to provide social housing tenants with information, advice & opportunities to more actively participate in

processes related to their housing, and to engage in their communities.

AGED AND DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICE Riverwood/Canterbury Aged and Disability

Service aims to provide emotional, social and practical support and assistance to HACC eligible

clients (frail aged and younger people with disabilities and their carers) who live in the

Canterbury Local Government Area.

LINKS TO LEARNING PROGRAM This program targets young people in years 7-10

(government high schools) who experience multiple barriers and significant difficulties

accessing and participating in formal learning environments. The aim of the Links to Learning

program is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to successfully reintegrate into

education and training or access support services suited to the individual’s needs.

CHILD SEXUAL ASSULT SERVICE Offers short, medium and long term counselling to children and adolescents up to 18 who have

experienced sexual assault. Support is also available for non-offending parents and

siblings.

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE The hours of operation for Before and After School Care are 7am – 9.30am and 2:30pm – 6pm sharp. This service aims to provide high quality care and a fun, interactive centre for

children attending schools in Riverwood & the immediate surrounding suburbs. The children will have the opportunity to create crafts, play

games and meet new friends.

Riverwood Community Centre Departments

RIVERWOOD CHILDRENS CENTRE Offers quality care and education for children

ages 0-4. Operates Monday-Friday from 9am to 4.30pm.

Special Needs Program available.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICE

The Family Support Service provides assistance, advocacy and support for families with

dependent children from birth until 12 years of age. The service assists families residing in

Riverwood, Narwee, Peakhurst and parts of Beverly Hills, Punchbowl and Roselands.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES The Car Boot Sale is held in RCC car park on the first and third Saturday of every month. A small fee is charged for space. The Riverwood Autumn Fair is held in March and raises funds which are

used to support community programs.

HOUSING COMMUNITES PROGRAM HCP is funded by Housing NSW to assist residents living in social housing on the Riverwood Estate

and some Off-Estate housing complexes. Groups, events and community programs include: Riverwood Community Advisory Board,

Information Carnivals, Community Garden, workshops, newspapers, tenant groups and other

opportunities.

LEISURE LEARNING Operates every Tuesday during school terms of-

fering a variety of art and craft classes.
