It has been an honour and privilege for me to be the 17th President of ACCA since 3 April 2016. With the support of the directors, management, staff and members, I am happy to report that ACCA has made significant progress in providing service to the community and has also achieved tremendous growth in its core business.

I am pleased to highlight the key achievements of ACCA during my tenure as follows:

1) Introduced salary packaging which provides tax-free benefits to staff;

2) ACCA’s revenue and surplus have increased significantly, especially over the past 12 months;

3) ACCA established and built very good relationship with key government agencies and received funding from them as follows:a) Received a grant of $32,670 from the NSW state

government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) 2016/17 program to upgrade facilities at our Surry Hills office, and

b) Received a similar CBP grant of $22,600 for our Parramatta office for the construction of a dementia care room;

4) New computerised system (e-Tools) introduced for our service department to increase efficiency and productivity;

5) Roll out of NDIS - established ACCA as an important service provider in the disability services sector with many new NDIS participants;

6) Hosted the ACCA 43rd Anniversary fund-raising and awards dinner on 20 July 2017 attended by the Premier of NSW and many dignitaries, this very successful event raised ACCA’s profile considerably within the Chinese community;

7) The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency conducted

a quality review at each of our three service centres in September and October 2018. The outcome of the quality review was more than satisfactory and many clients provided excellent references for our services;

8) Opened a new ACCA service centre in Hurstville in August 2016 to serve the community in Southern Sydney.

9) Introduced amendments to ACCA’s Constitution to streamline the management and administrative processes as well as improve organisational efficiency, accountability, fairness and equity to members;

10) ACCA participated (including making donations) in the Drought Relief Appeal to help affected farmers in NSW and Qld in Sept/Oct 2018;

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Councillors, Directors, staff and members for their co-operation and hard work over the past two and a half years.

Many Members of Parliament have provided assistance and support to ACCA over the years however I’d like to specially thank Dr Geoff Lee MP, Member for Parramatta, Mr Mark Coure MP, Member for Oatley, and Mr Alex Greenwich MP, Member for Sydney for the ongoing close working relationship with ACCA.

I feel now is the right time for me to pass the leadership baton to a new President to continue ACCA’s excellent service. I would like to announce that I will be stepping down as President of ACCA immediately after the Annual General Meeting to be held on Sunday 9th December 2018. It has been a busy and rewarding time for me since I assumed the office of President. I will remain a director of ACCA after stepping down as President and continue to serve and contribute to the future growth and success of ACCA.

Last but not least, please continue your excellent work and support the new President and his/her team in the coming years and make ACCA the preferred aged and community care service provider in Sydney for our community.

2 | 澳華公會四十四周年年報我很榮幸能自2016年4月3日擔任會長。在董事會，管理層，員工和會員的支援下，我很高興在此報告ACCA在為社區提供服務方面取得的重大進展和其核心業務的巨大增長。

我很高興在我任職期間強調ACCA的主要成就如下:

1) 引入salary packaging，為員工提供免稅福利;

2) 在過去12個月，ACCA的收入和盈餘取得了顯著增長;

It is an honour to serve as Treasurer of ACCA and I am pleased to present the audited Financial Statements for the year ended 30th June 2018.

It has been another year of impressive financial achievement where ACCA produced a surplus of $492,146 compared to a surplus of $143,731 in the previous financial year.

The total consolidated revenue for the year was $4,904,700 which is an increase of more than 42 per cent over the previous year. The cash on hand was about $2 million dollars as at 30th June 2018. The total equity is $6,822,146.

The commendable financial growth achieved in the last financial year has placed ACCA in a strong position to further expand its’ core business in the Home Care, CHSP, and the NDIS markets.

The strong financial result could not have been possible without the hard work and increased efficiency and productivity as demonstrated by management and staff.

Due to the significant increase in the business activity and our commitment to maintain high quality service to clients and members, ACCA’s total workforce exceeded 100 employees for the first time as at 30 June 2018.

The Board is fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead in the face of strong competition and ongoing legislative changes introduced by the Federal government. To that end ACCA continues to invest heavily in information technology as well as in education and training for its’ employees.

The Board has also been working hard looking for opportunities to broaden the company’s revenue base while at the same time always being mindful of not losing control of the expenditure.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow members of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Subcommittee and all our management and staff especially the dedicated accounting and administration team who worked tirelessly to ensure the completion of the annual financial reports in a timely manner.

我很榮幸授命任職司庫并向各位呈獻澳華公會截止至2018年6月30日的財政年度報告。

在澳華公會各部門的一年努力經營下，本財政年度盈利$492,146，相比上年同期實現盈利增長$143,731。合併盈利為$4,904,700，相比上年同期實現42%的增長。截止至2018年6月30日，庫存現金約為$2,000,000,所有者權益為$6,822,146。

本年度澳華公會業績的跨越式增長，為家居護理服務、聯邦政府家居支持計劃以及國家殘障保險計劃服務等核心業務的未來發展奠定良好并堅實的基礎。我們能獲得如此驕人成績，這與澳華公會管理層卓越的管理，以及每一位敬業樂業的員工同心協力、提高團隊工作成效的付出息息相關。同時，為確保向所有客戶及會員提供更完善優質的服務，截至目前我們的專業服務團隊人數已增至百餘人。

隨著聯邦政府不斷對法例條款作出調整，以及日益劇增的市場競爭，董事會已經清楚意識到未來發展將會充滿許多未知的挑戰。因此，管理層決策會在現有基礎上不斷投入更多現代化信息科技，增加對員工的各方面培訓與支持以提高澳華公會的市場影響力和競爭力。董事會除了長期致力於為機構尋求成長的機會，亦時刻嚴格管控財務收支狀況。

籍此機會感謝審計、風險控制管理及合規審查小組委員會的工作，以及所有管理人員和員工一直以來的敬業付出。同時，我需要特別感謝財務部和行政部的配合和協作，共同按時完成本年度財務報告工作。

OverviewACCA has experienced many changes and registered impressive growth across all services this year. Our client base has increased significantly as we continue to expand our services; there has been a huge uptake in demand from the elderly seeking culturally appropriate services across Sydney Metropolitan area especially from the Chinese community.

We are also proud to announce that we have successfully passed the Quality Review audit (conducted by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency once every three years). Our service quality were reviewed and have met (and in some cases exceeded) each of the 18 expected outcomes of the Home Care Standards. During the audit

process, many service users have contributed their valuable time by attending the meeting with the quality review officers. The team is extremely pleased and touched by all the positive feedback given by the service users during the meeting and we pledge that ACCA will continue to uphold the high standards, provide quality care and consistent services to all our clients.

In addition, our team would also like to extend our warmest and most sincere appreciation to the volunteers who have been contributing their valuable time and effort to assist the delivery of our services throughout the year. Thanks to their continuous support, we will be able to deliver high quality services for Chinese elderly in the following and many more years to come.

Support Group Centre-based Day Care ServiceThe centre based day care service is held from 10am to 2pm in day centres at different venues. Day centres’ programme includes interactive and recreational group activities that are held both indoors and outdoors. This year, the service focused on wellness and reablement; encouraging physical and social activities through culturally appropriate and interactive activities and were tailored for care-recipients. The activities are not only recreational but also promote usage of various skills and senses of the participants to maintain their general well-being.

Western Centre - Parramatta

The Western Centre operate aged day care programs (in Cantonese) three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A community shopping trip and health educational talks are organised at least once a month. There are a wide variety of topics covered including Aged Pension Benefits; Hepatitis B, Falls Prevention, Food Labelling, Environment talk, Diabetes and Elderly problems. There are also monthly outing trips to different areas of Sydney, such as Coal Loader Centre, Community garden in Waverton, Seniors Week Activities, Japanese Garden, BBQ at Lake Parramatta Reserve and the Woronora Dam. There are also cross department events such as the joint Moon Festival Luncheon with the Dementia Day Care centre and the Chinese New Year Joint Function. Regular activities at the centre comprise of group games/activities, cooking demonstrations, karaoke, Mah-jong, handicraft and other social and interactive tasks. Monthly birthday celebrations are also held for the clients.

This year, the feedback from the survey report indicated that 100% of the clients are satisfied with the service. Out of which, 82% of the clients indicate that they are extremely satisfied with the service!

Northern Centre - Kirribilli/Milsons Point/Lane Cove/Chatswood

The Northern Centre conduct programs four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday across different locations. The centre caters to both Cantonese and Mandarin speaking clients.

The service includes a wide variety of outings, informative talks and group activities throughout the year. In addition, this year the team conducted other festive celebrations such as: Chinese New Year Celebration Luncheon (Joint program at the Marigold Chinese Restaurant), Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration and Dragon Boat Festival Celebration.

This year, the feedback from the survey report indicated that 95% of the clients are satisfied with the service while 5% of the client did not respond to the question. Clients’ knowledge and awareness about certain policies and procedures, such as clients’ rights and responsibility and confidentiality have significantly increased compared to last year. However, approximately 30% of the clients do not fully understand the complaint procedures of the service. Appropriate handouts and materials were given to these clients. The team will be holding additional information sessions that assist clients in understanding the complaint procedures and the importance of providing feedbacks.

City Centre - Surry Hills

Surry Hills operates Centre Based Aged Day Care service on every Monday (Mandarin) and Wednesday (Cantonese). The service is delivered within a culturally and linguistically appropriate context, participants are invited to enjoy a wide range of activities and socialise with others in a stimulating and friendly environment. It offers opportunities for participants to develop friendships and maintain social interaction. Surry Hills Day Care Centre’s activities include group games, mental stimulation, painting, Chinese calligraphy, origami, simple cooking, festive celebrations, gentle exercise, and birthday party and health talks.

The Surry Hills Day Care service organise a monthly outing for participants to visit places of interest in Sydney and its surrounds, destination includes national parks, galleries, museums, exhibitions, leisurely bushwalk on flat ground, shopping trips, ferry ride, see animals, birds and spring flowers. In addition, the centre also prepare freshly cooked healthy Chinese meals every day in a well-equipped kitchen.

This year, the feedback from the survey indicated that 100% of the clients are satisfied with the service! The team would like to extend its warmest appreciation to all the guest speakers and volunteers for making the centre a much safer and enjoyable place.

Seniors Group ActivitiesThis service supports and assists community groups with coordinating and organising culturally appropriate activities for the Chinese elderly in City and Northern Sydney areas. These groups provide a platform for seniors to enhance their social networks, minimise social isolation and maintain both physical and mental health through regular gatherings and outdoor activities. These groups are run by community volunteers as they

motivate and support each other to organise a variety of amazing activities and events for the community.

City Seniors Group

The City Seniors Group offers a large variety of recreational and social activities to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. One of the main focus of the group is physical fitness. The weekly walking group is an excellent way for seniors to exercise and make new friends at the same time. Explore Sydney’s different attractions with a group of friends while getting your weekly dose of exercise. Thursday’s weekly Tai Chi exercise on the other hand is more relaxed. Follow ACCA’s volunteer instructors and learn about physical exercise, mindfulness and balance control. The monthly Birthday Party and One-Day Excursion are also extremely popular amongst the seniors! With the help of many volunteers, the monthly One-Day Excursions have given the opportunity for many physical frail seniors to travel to outer regions of Sydney to enjoy natural sceneries and also buy fresh produce out of Sydney’s local farmers. This year, the excursions explored many of Sydney’s dam, such as the Cordeaux Dam, Warragamba Dam and Nepean River. In addition, the day tour has also granted access for seniors to purchase fresh produce from farms and importers, such as fresh vegetable from Sciberras Fresh and everyone’s favourite abalone whole-seller, Dandean’s export.

Northern Sydney Seniors Group

The Northern Sydney Seniors Group is a self-funded social group that meets every Friday at Pennant Hills Leisure and Learning Centre. The programs were designed and coordinated by the group’s own volunteer committee members and supported by ACCA aged care worker. This year many new social community groups have performed for the Northern Seniors Group. The members particularly enjoyed singing along to nostalgic Cantonese pop songs. The group have their own volunteer Qigong and Taichi master to organize weekly exercise for group members! The other programs includes: birthday parties, social lunches, group games, Karaoke and educational talks. In addition, the group is an

excellent platform where members get to share with the community, such as news, resources, food, local events and any other interesting activities.

COMMUNITY AND HOME SUPPORT- Meals

Service

ACCA Chinese Meals Service provides affordable, nutritious and healthy meals for frail aged people and people with a disability and their carers who temporarily or permanently have difficulty to shop or prepare their meals. This service aims to enable clients to live healthily and independently by delivering meals to client’s homes.

The Chinese Meals Service operates Monday to Friday. Healthy Chinese meals are prepared fresh each morning in the Surry Hills Centre’s kitchen and will be delivered by a dedicated team of caring volunteers between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Meals service is more than just a meal, a dedicated team of caring volunteers provide important social contact and assist in monitoring a client’s health, safety and well-being. Volunteers are one of the essential components of this service, their generous contribution helped many aging clients to be able to stay supported at their own homes.

In addition, ACCA’s meal service has also now been formally registered as an NDIS service, and this service can now be accessed by NDIS participants!

The aim of this service is to provide community education and high quality entry-level support services to promote older people’s independence, autonomy and quality of life at home and in the community. Many Chinese older people are unfamiliar with the concept of wellness and independence, resulting in increased medical visits and aged care needs. This service also facilitates social contact for people who are socially isolated and are unable to care for themselves on a day to day basis.

We conducted needs assessment in July and client’s satisfaction survey in August to assess our clients’ current needs, degree of satisfaction to our service as well as to identify each individual’s strengths, capacity, preferences and challenge to independence. Working with clients, we took a wellness and enablement approach in September to update each individual’s support plan. Client’s help-seeking nature, in order of frequency, was social support, housing related matters and health-related issues. We took a holistic approach to assist them in meeting their social, housing, financial, health and aged care needs. Our clients were aware of their rights and responsibilities and understood the complaint procedure. Nearly all of them were very satisfied with our service and would access our service again when needed.

This year, the feedback from the survey report indicated that 96% of the clients are satisfied with the service. In addition, based on clients’ feedback, the team is currently considering options to establish a new helpdesk service that will be providing free form-filling and interpreting services once each week at each service centres (Parramatta, Surry Hills, Chatswood and Hurstville). This helpdesk service will not require prior appointments and will be opened to the community.

CARE RELATIONSHIPS AND CARER SUPPORT - Centre-based Respite Care Service

Respite care service is aimed to assist carers with information, support and respite care. This service supports both carers and care-recipients. It gives carers the opportunity to attend to everyday activities while the care-recipients are fully supported in a safe environment. This year, the centre has been focused on wellness and reablement; encouraging physical and social activities through culturally appropriate and interactive activities were tailored for care-recipients. The activities are not only recreational but also promote usage of various skills and senses of the participants to maintain their general well-being.

North Shore Respite Care Centres

The respite care centres operates 3 days a week at Chatswood, Hornsby and Pennant Hills. The centre conduct social and recreational activities such as educational talks, newspaper reading, gentle exercises,

Tai Chi, food demonstrations, outings, visits, birthday parties, group activities and handicrafts.

Carers were also invited to the education talks, luncheons and special programs regularly. In addition, relevant news with support information was distributed to the carers every month.

CARE RELATIONSHIPS AND CARER SUPPORT – Dementia Centre-based Respite Care Service (MingShi)

MingShi centre aims to relieve the pressure on family and carers; to assist Chinese people with dementia with sustaining their physical and mental wellbeing in a safe environment. The centre facilitates the participants to engage in both physical and sensory activities in a group setting to promote both mental and physical health. It provides an opportunity for clients to socialize with friends within the same age group and cultural background. Activities includes reminiscence, memory games, multi-sensory stimulation, craft, gentle exercises, painting, singing and bingo. In addition, festive celebrations were also organised during Christmas and Chinese traditional festivals such as Mid-autumn festival.

The brand new activity room located in the Parramatta service centre had received overwhelmingly positive feedbacks. Having an area furnished and specialised for the MingShi significantly contributes to the safety and comfort for the clients.

澳華公會今年經歷了許多變化，並在所有服務中取得了令人矚目的業績增長。隨著我們不斷擴大服務範圍，我們的客戶群大幅增加，老年人在悉尼大都會地區（特別是華人社區）尋求文化適宜服務的需求大幅增加。

該中心每週一、三、五共計三天對外開放（粵語）。中心每個月都會至少組織一次社區購物之旅以及舉辦健康教育講座，講座內容涵蓋了各種各樣的主題，包括養老金福利、乙型肝炎科普知識、預防跌倒、食物標籤、環境、糖尿病及老齡化問題。此外，中心每月還組織長者到悉尼不同的地區郊遊，如參觀如煤炭裝載機中心，Waverton的社區花園，紐省老年周活動，日本花園，去帕拉瑪打湖保護區燒烤和參觀Wor-onora水庫。還有各種跨部門活動，如：與認知障礙症暫息日間中心聯合舉辦的慶中秋午宴和慶中國新年等活動。該中心的定期活動包括：團體遊戲/活動，烹飪示範，卡拉OK，麻將，手工藝和其他社交和互動任務。還為客戶舉辦每月生日慶祝活動。

今年，調查報告的反饋表明，100％的客戶對服務感到滿意。其中，82％的客戶表示他們對服務非常滿意！

北區中心-Kirribilli/MilsonsPoint/LaneCove/Chatswood

北部中心每週四天，週一、週二、週三和周五在不同地點開展活動，服務於粵語和普通話客戶。

北區日間中心服務包括了一系列外出活動、信息豐富的資訊講座及集體活動。此外，本年度還舉辦了各種節日慶祝活動。此外，今年團隊還舉辦了其他節日慶祝活動，如：中國新年慶祝午宴（於唐人街富麗宮酒樓），還有中秋節和端午節的慶祝活動。

今年，調查報告的反饋表明，95％的客戶對服務感到滿意，而5％的客戶沒有回答此問題。與去年相比，客戶對某些政策和程序的了解和認識，例如客戶的權利和責任以及保密性都有顯著提高。

但是，大約30％的客戶並不完全了解該服務的投訴程序。公會向這些客戶提供了適當的講義和材料。該部門將舉辦額外的信息講座，以幫助客戶了解投訴程序以及提供反饋的重要性。

中區中心–SurryHills

中區高齡組

中區高齡組通過組織豐富的休閒娛樂和社交活動，向長者們宣傳和推廣積極健康的生活方式。每週一次的步行小組活動，長者們一起遊覽悉尼各個景點，是長者們鍛煉身體和結交朋友的絕佳方式。每週四的太極活動中，長者們則能在澳華公會義工導師的指導下，在輕鬆的氛圍中鍛

北區高齡組

北區高齡組是一個自費的社交小組，每週五在PennantHills康樂學習中心舉辦聚會。聚會活動都是由高齡組的義工委員會成員自行設計協調，並由澳華公會的高齡服務工作人員提供協助。

社區和家庭支援-膳食服務

澳華公會中式膳食服務可為無法外出採購食材或完成日常烹飪工作的身體虛弱的長者、殘障人士及他們的照護者們提供短期或長期的送餐上門服務，使他們在享受到價格合理、營養豐富的中式餐食的同時，繼續健康獨立地在家中生活。膳食服務於每週一至週五開放，澳華公會SurryHills中心廚房每日上午新鮮製作烹調的餐食，會由義工小組於上午11點到下午1點間負責配送至長者家中。敬業的膳食服務團隊在送餐的同時還協助觀察服務對象的健康、安全等狀況。義工們慷慨的奉獻幫助了許多老年客戶能夠在自己的家中得到支持，是膳食服務運作中必不可少的重要組成部分。此外，澳華公會的膳食服務現

ACCA Annual Report 2018 | 13已正式註冊為國家殘障保險計劃的認證服務機構，NDIS的服務對象現在可以享受此項服務。

社區和家庭支援–個人社區支援服務

此項服務包括短期輔導、情緒支援、電話支援、填表、寫信、信件翻譯、政府福利申請：包括公屋、我的老年護理服務。社區支援服務的目標是通過提供社區教育和高品質的初級支援服務，向長者們傳達在家居和社區生活中獨立自主和追求優秀生活品質的理念。許多華人社區的長者們並不瞭解健康和獨立的概念，也導致了這一群體對醫療和養老照護服務的高需求。這項服務還為在日常生活中自我照顧有困難並缺乏社區資源資訊的長者們建立了接觸社會的管道。

我們在7月進行了需求評估，並在8月進行了客戶滿意度調查，以評估客戶當前的需求，對我們服務的滿意度，以及確定每個人的優勢、能力、偏好和獨立生活能力。我們與客戶合作，於9月採取了健康和支持方法，更新了每個人的照顧計劃。他們的常見需求（按頻率排序）包括：社區支援、公房相關事務、健康相關問題及養老服務。我們採取一系列全面的措施來説明和滿足客戶對社區、居住、經濟、健康和養老的全方位需求。我們的客戶都了解他們的權利和義務，並了解投訴程序。幾乎所有人都非常滿意我們的服務，並在需要時再次選擇我們的服務。

敏思暫息日間中心旨在緩解華人社區中的認知障礙症患者家屬及照護者的壓力，並使患者在安全氛圍中保持身心健康。中心為患者提供了與年齡及文化背景相似的人群社交的機會。中心活動包括：緬懷過去、記憶力遊戲、多重感官刺激、手工藝製作、溫和的運動、繪畫、唱歌與賓果遊戲等。此外中心還會在耶誕節及中國傳統節日期間為參與者舉辦節日慶典活動。

位於帕拉瑪塔服務中心的全新活動室在設施設備上確保了長者們的舒適和安全，並大大增加了長者們的活動空間，得到了長者們的一致好評。

ACCA provides disability services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which is a publicly funded program that provide support for people living with disability.

Over the past twelve months, ACCA’s disability services (NDIS) has grown exponentially and the number of participants has quadrupled!

ACCA’s NDIS service’s quality has also been noteworthy. Our reputation has attracted many referrals from funding agency NDIA, other NDIS service providers and also from participants themselves. We take pride in our excellent support coordination and in-home support services. In addition, ACCA has also now build up a very strong support network of allied health service providers that can provide support to Chinese-speaking participants for services such as Super Rehab, Job Quest and Global Rehabilitation Services. This year, ACCA NDIS service has successfully achieved Third Party Verification (TPV) in order to continue being registered as an approved NDIS service provider. The service has fully met with each and every standard and requirements outlined by the National standards for disability services. Due to the new NDIS governing body NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission under the Department of Health, ACCA will proactively review and update our current policy and procedures to make sure our disability services meets the new standards as outlined by the Commission.

ACCA has provided quality disability support to NDIS participants across Sydney metropolitan area for participants. ACCA’s NDIS participants are aged between 8 to 64 and a wide variety of different disabilities.

We provide all four levels of home care packages (HCP) that will help our clients to remain at home for as long as possible, as well as providing choice and flexibility in the way that the care and support is provided.The home care reforms that commenced on 27 February 2017 have resulted in a positive outcome for ACCA. Our client base have increased significantly since the reforms started. The reforms have provided greater choice and flexibility to clients, thereby allowing them to choose their own home care service provider.ACCA is one of the earliest home care packages service providers for the Chinese community in Sydney and we are constantly learning, adapting and making changes in providing quality and affordable services to our clients. We help our clients to identify their needs and goals, and this will assist us to develop a reliable and quality care plan for them. To ensure we provide reliable, quality care to our clients, our bilingual staff undergo relevant training and professional development on an annual basis. We have also expanded our network of trusted external contractors who can provide affordable cleaning and gardening services.

HCP services that we provide

The HCP services that we provide will include the following:

• Transport for shopping or appointments;• Domestic assistance for household chores like cleaning, ironing or washing clothes;• Personal care assistance with bathing or showering, dressing or hair care;• Home maintenance for general repairs and care for your garden;• Home modification i.e. installing alarms, ramps and support rails;• Nursing care;• Food services like providing meals at day centre, or preparing food and delivering meals to your home;• Medication assistance.

This year has been another successful year for ACCA Chinese Language School (CLS). For the first time in the school’s history one of our students, Katrina Fu from class C3, was awarded the NSW Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement. We are also proud to announce that ACCA CLS Principal, Phil Xu, was awarded the Rotary Club’s Community Service Award from East-wood-Gladesville Rotary Club.

The ACCA CLS held its 2017 Graduation Ceremony on 2nd December to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the students and teachers during the year. Awards were presented to students for their achievements during the year. ACCA President Shirley Chan presented scholar-ship certificates to 50 students for the 2018 academic year.

The VIPs who attended the event were The Hon. Victor Dominello MP, State Minister for Finance, Services and Property; John Alexander MP, Federal Member for Bennelong; Damien Tudehope MP, State Member for Epping, Clr Roy Maggio – City of Ryde Council, Clr Trenton Brown – City of Ryde Council, Clr Simon Zhou – City of Ryde Council, Tony Tang, President of Ryde Community Forum and Narelle Barker, President of the Rotary Club of Eastwood-Gladesville.

The highlights of 2017-18 are as follows:

• Student Katrina Fu winning the NSW Community Languages Schools’ Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement

• Student Danielle Teo winning the NSW Community Languages Schools’ Senior Commended Award

• Students participated in 2018 Australian Chinese reading competition where several of them won awards

• Held an Open Day in June 2018 to facilitate parents’ awareness of the schools operations • Organised the 2018 ACCA Chinese School writing competition in collaboration with the parents
