About Lih Pao Cultural Arts FoundationLih Pao Cultural Arts Foundation (The Foundation) was founded in 2003 and has been established by Lih Pao Group. It is dedicated to the promotion of activities in architecture, education, arts, community building and charity with the objectives to promote art exhibitions, to encourage development of local cultures and to introduce them to the world. Through exchange of arts and partnership on arts projects, the Foundation made a contribution to the prospect of Taiwan's culture and arts.

The Lih Pao International Sculpture Biennial Awards is a global event organised every two years; it is Taiwan's first large-scale sculpture competition calling for entries to all artists worldwide. This year marks the 3rd Biennial Awards since the First Biennial Awards in 2011. The numbers of entries collected, the amount of incentives offered and the number of exhibition tours organised have all been expanded this time. The Foundation has also committed to more sophisticated com-petition rules and increased the profile of the Awards to encourage more artworks from both seasoned and emerging artists. Moreover, the Awards is a platform for young emerging artists to showcase their talents and an opportunity for international exchanges, and also to help Taiwan develop new values for local arts and culture.

Fulfilling corporate social responsibility, Lih Pao Group continues to encourage the incorporation of aesthetics into everyday life and to promote creativity in sculpture making. The Awards this year will be a focal point of the best sculptures in the world. It is hoped that the exhibitions will bring arts closer to people and make arts part of ev-eryday life. The Department of Sculpture is the only department which focuses on the art of sculpture in Taiwan. Since the 1960s, the department has had more than 900 graduates and become a main character of sculpture today in Taiwan. We impart to students the knowledge of sculptural culture and professional art through aca-demic research and study, making use of the qualities of Eastern art in the context of western sculpture form. Our curriculum structure allows students to create their own field of study through course selection rather than arbitrary division into study groups. Students then pro-ceed to refined modern sculpture workshops in "Sculpture", "Metalworking", "Woodcarving", "Stone Carving", and "Mixed Media."We invite teachers from around the world to make students realise the principle of art creation in different eras, regions and historical backgrounds through the international exchange.
