• This is a story about a sailor named Edmond Dantes who was framed into prison on his wedding day and catch up with his enemies eventually.

Main idea

Something about the protagonist Edmond Dantes ( 爱德蒙 唐代斯 ) before framed: A excellent sailor who was going to be

the new Captain. A tall young man of 19 and knew the

sea well. A happy man who was planning to be

married with his beloved Mercedes. A man full of confidence , high spirit

and vigor .

Edmond in prison: He felt helpless downhearted and lonely, but he waited to be set free. After 12 years’ life in prison he decided that he wanted to die because of no sign of freedom. In his most desperate time, he met with his pure-hearted friends-----Father Faria who had profound knowledge. Edmond learned all what Faria know and become a man who had a stock of knowledge

Edmond in my eyes: He is a hero and also a gentleman. He didn’t give up in that case which was so desperate and helpless. His perseverance ,spirit of learning and all he experienced gave me a deep impression. He is grateful and repay for others’ kindness.( 知恩图报 ) He dares to love and hate.

My feeling I see the spirit of perseverance and

strong endurance on him. I don’t know and can’t imagine how he spend those over 10 years’ prison life.

Here a sentence from Dinlin: if one has a faith and has something to pursue, whatever difficulty he can tolerate and whatever environment he can adapt to.
