…Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas Sameeaul Aleem "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing. [2:127]

…Rabbana wa‐j'alna Muslimayni laka ma min Dhurriyatina 'Ummatan Muslimatan laka wa 'Arina Manasikana wa tub 'alayna 'innaka 'antat‐Tawwabu‐Raheem

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. (2:128)

…Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal‐qawmil‐kafirin "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people." (2:250)

Rrabbana latu‐akhithna in naseena aw akhta/narabbana wala tahmil AAalayna isrankama hamaltahu AAala allatheena minqablina rabbana wala tuhammilnama la taqata lana bihi waAAfuAAanna waghfir lana warhamnaanta

mawlana fansurna AAalaalqawmi alkafireen

"Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." (2:286)

rabbanainnana amanna faghfir lana thunoobanawaqina AAathaba annar "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire," (3:16)

rabbana ma khalaqta hatha batilan subhanakafaqina AAathaba annar "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of

the Fire. (3:191)

Rabbana innaka man tudkhili annarafaqad akhzaytahu wama liththalimeenamin ansar Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire ‐ You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there

are no helpers. (3:192)

Rabbana waatina mawaAAadtana AAala rusulika wala tukhzinayawma alqiyamati innaka la tukhlifu almeeAAad Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection.

Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise." (3:194)

rabbanaamanna faktubna maAAa ashshahideen

"Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses. (5:83)

rabbana la tajAAalna maAAa alqawmi aththalimeen "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people." (7:47)

rabbana afrigh AAalaynasabran watawaffana muslimeen

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]." (7:126)

Rabbana la tajAAalnafitnatan lillatheena kafaroo waghfir lanarabbana innaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeem

Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (60:5)

On the authority of Shaddad ibn Aws ( ــا ــ ــلي) the Prophet (عنھم رضـــ هللا صــ ــه ـــ said, “The chief (وســـلم عليof prayers for forgiveness is:

Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa Ant Khalaqatani wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa’dika mastata’tu audhobika min sharri ma sana’atu abu ooh laka bi ni’matika ‘alayya wa abu ooh bi zanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiruz zunooba illa Ant

O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshiped except You, You created me and I am Your servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise [to honor it] as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except You.’

The Prophet (ــلي هللا صــ ــه ـــ added, “If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in (وســـلم عليit and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning he will be from the people of Paradise.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
