Estamos liderando a nuestras fa-milias. Paz. P. Richard
This week we remember the life of Deacon Victor Ramirez. In his honor we named one of our Centers. Many remember him as being a man of faith and hav-ing a special gift for reaching out to people and making them feel hopeful. Many remember him as a good and caring leader. Similar to today’s gospel, Dc Victor was a good shepherd who used his position and talents to care and lead others. His anniversary of death is April 20th. May God bless his memory and soul. May God bless his family who carry him in their hearts. May his name be written in heaven. “I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep...” John 10: 11-18
The image of Jesus as a good shepherd who cares for us, brings us much comfort. We need guidance. We sometimes run away too fast instead of facing prob-lems and not letting problems destroy us or weaken us. Jesus assures us he does this work with love, faithful-ness, truth and gentleness. He knows us. He is defi-nitely not like a hired worker who does this work for pay. He is willing to give his life for us. Jesus’ image gives us a lot to think about. We are his sheep. We need to be lead and reminded of what is good and important. We need to be close. With him we can be vulnerable and trusting. We can be strength-ened in building our character and deepening our faith. Many of us know that we are not only sheep; we are shepherds. We are leading our families. We are reaching out to them, giving them direction and lead-ing them through good example. As we witness to the Resurrection of Jesus, let us be kind to ourselves. Let us remember we are always learning. We are sheep, learning from Jesus our good shepherd. We are also being called to be good shep-herds who lead faithfully, patiently, and lovingly. We are leading by example. Have a great week. Peace. Fr Richard
