KT153DZ I live to be in fashion. Ever since I was a little girl I loved to dress up; to the point where I nearly drove my family insane with the obsession to get changed four or five times a day! I’ve always had a creative eye, studying art and textiles in school which I feel helped identify my interests and ambition in life.

About Me....
When choosing my GCSE options, I decided on Textiles. I found the subject fascinating, new and exciting. After my first couple of lessons, I knew that the Fashion Industry was for me.Throughout my Textiles course I learnt to make garments for a variety of audiences. I also learnt about the industry and production process, from packaging to care labels. From the beginning it was clear that you need to have a creative eye in order to be success-ful in fashion. I committed myself to doing extra work every afternoon and working at home as much as possible to achieve the best results I could. When the decision to go into further education came around, I chose to study an Extended Diploma in Fashion and Textile at Brooklands College, in Surrey. This fuelled my passion for the industry even further. The skills I learnt in college developed over two years and I am continuing to improve and define my style. I feel as if I developed an insight into the history behind what we see today and how it affects tomorrow’s trends. College taught me to broaden my designs and to think of new target audiences. I chose to research, design and make a children’s wear range. I absolutely loved this project as it gave me the opportunity to learn how to cut patterns, from scratch, and I achieved very successful results. After college the thought of higher education excited me. When looking at the potential op-tions, The Arts University of Bournemouth stood out. I knew this was the best way for me to progress, so worked even harder to gain the results I needed. The extra work paid off, as I achieved grades of DMM in my diploma, which secured my place on the University course.
