shooting in Scotland. Depending on where you shoot in Scotland, you will come across various kinds of game, which one can pursue at different times in the season.

Scotland is widely regarded as the finest destination in the world for shooting, with driven grouse, partridge, pheasant and duck by far the most popular. Most of the land in Scotland is owned by private estates.

As such, all days are organized by the club with the respective estates in advance and members may schedule times, locations, species and numbers of guns. Each estate offers different types of experience, terrain and shot. Not only is Pittormie ideally situated to access a multitude of shoots but our knowledge and experience allows us to customize days depending upon ability and desires.

Our fleet of chauffeured vehicles will escort you to and from over 40 destinations. All of the shoots are between 10 minutes and 90 minutes drive from Pittormie. Whether a novice or crack shot, shooting alone or in a group we will organize a trip to some of the finest

Scotland offers some of the finest salmon fishing in the world for everyone, whether a novice or seasoned angler. The world famous rivers and lochs; the Tay, Dee, Tweed, Tummel and the Nith are the closest to Pittormie and best known.

Salmon fishing is available in Scotland, from 11th January until 30th November, although some rivers do not open until February and some close on 30th September.

Runs of salmon may arrive in the largest river, the Tay, on any day of the year but of course there are peak times for sport-fishing.Spring salmon are the earliest running multi sea-winter fish. In most rivers the main runs start to arrive in March. On the Tay they can arrive much earlier, but generally the numbers are fairly low until then. April and May are the best times for spring salmon.

SALMON FISHING

Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon is the epitome of all fishing.

These fish can be large. Most years specimens of thirty or more pounds will be encountered in the larger rivers. In general the two sea-winter class of salmon in early spring weigh between 7 and 12 pounds and the three sea-winter fish can be double those weights.

TROUT FISHINGTHE RESIDENCES AT PITTORMIE

ACTIVITIES BROCHURE

Trout fishing is an exciting and rewarding experience. Fly fishing for trout requires understanding of how trout think in their own habitat and circumstances. This goes for external factors such as weather, season, oxygen and temperature of the water, habitat nutrients, reproduction and feeding habits, among others.

Proper angling methods; rod and fishing lines that provide the exact momentum for casting; lures, tackle, baits and trout flies create multiple options and are important things to consider before going fly fishing for trout.

Spend a very relaxing time fishing for rainbow and brown trout on Teasse’s private loch, with only the sound of the skylarks to disturb the peace and tranquillity of the Scottish countryside.

There is a fishing bothy and barbeque facilities by the lochside. Perfect for beginners and children, this is an excellent way to spend a few hours.

The brown trout Season is from the 15th March until the 6th October.

There are two Scottish Stalking seasons; Bucks April 1st to October 20th and Does October 21st to March 31st. Fife is one of the best Roe Deer stalking areas in Scotland and access to numerous local estates can be organized via the Concierge

Stalking red or roe deer is a fascinating way to discover Scotland’s landscape and culture. You will spend time walking through beautiful landscapes - mountains, glens and forests - as you go in search of the deer. Red deer stalking is a traditional field sport, and the stalkers who take clients stalking are steeped in tradition. A stalk often takes most of the day as you hike through the mountains to find the deer.

The stalker will then select which deer is to be shot, taking account of the health of the herd. After the kill, many estates still use the traditional method of bringing the deer back to base, by strapping it to the back of a pony and walking it back down.

A red deer stalk in Scotland is certainly a special experience and one which you will never forget.

DEER STALKING

Deer stalking is a fairly strenuous activity. Participants must have a reasonable level of fitness. Suitable outdoor attire is required.
