Our Lady of Fatima Chapel: On Tuesday Dec. 26th there will be a Mass offered in the new Chapel at the parish center at 12pm (noon). There will also be a Mass offered on Sunday January 14th at 3pm. The Chapel is fully handicapped accessible, so if you are finding it difficult to attend Masses at St. Helen due to accessibility, please consider attending these Masses. If there is anyone who would be willing to assist in driving one of our elderly parishioners to either of these Masses, please contact Fr. Kenneth. New Year’s Eve Vigil of Reparation: To begin the new year in the spirit of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and for His Greater Honor & Glory, on Sunday evening Dec. 31st, at St. Helen, we will have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 10pm to midnight which will include recitation of the Holy Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, various prayers and meditations, all offered in reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Adoration will conclude with benediction at midnight. A reception will follow in the rectory. Light refreshments will be served.

Overall the meeting went very well. A few changes were requested by the members of the Commission, concerning handicap access through the front entrance, access to the sanctuary and the designated handicap seating section. These will be addressed by the Building Committee in consultation with the architect.

Thank you for your ongoing support and generosity! 2017 Catholic Services Appeal - Bringing Christ to Others: St. Helen Parish Target: $5,100 Actual: $5,125 OLC Parish Target: $1,200 Actual: $1,075 St. Helen has reached its goal!! Thank you to all those who have given so generously to the CSA. For those at OLC, there is still time to make a gift. We are only $125 away from our goal! Special Second Collection: This weekend the annual Archdiocesan collection for Catholic Charities will be taken up in our parish, as a second collection, to support local ministries within the Archdiocese, including, the Mother-Infant Care program, Family Support services, Prison Ministry, Senior Social services, and the Migration and Refugee services. The Archdiocese's required tithe for our parish as a whole, is 50% of the average weekend collection. Your generosity will be most appreciated! Parish Christmas Party: The event will take place on Sun. Jan. 7th from 2-5:00pm. Everyone who wants to participate in the gift exchange is asked to bring a $10 unisex gift per adult and a $5 unisex gift per child. Everyone is asked to bring their favorite dish to share. Dinner will be at 2pm, followed by music entertainment, followed by the gift exchange and games. The Auxiliary will be decorating the parish center on Sat. Jan. 6th after the First Sat. Mass and Holy Hour – all are invited to come and help set up. Adult Class: On Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Parish Center, starting on Jan. 9th, Fr. Thomas will offer a class on the Basics of a Other Non-Christian Religions and of Other Christian Denominations. If you have ever wondered how to talk to others who are not Catholic about your Catholic faith, this class is an excellent opportunity to look at the biggest similarities and biggest differences between the beliefs and practices of other religions and Christianity as well as the beliefs and practices of other denominations and Catholicism. The course will run approximately 6-8 weeks. ___________________________________________________________
