The Year 70 Tour of Israel - May 6-16, 2018

Day 1 – Sunday, May 6

Depart from United States

International flights usually arrive the next day

Day 2- Monday, May 7

Lower Galilee

Land in Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv. You will be met and greeted by a representative of Lipkin Tours who will welcome you to

Israel and introduce you to your tour guide and driver.

The first stop on the tour will be to the city of Caesarea. Israel's northern coast and home to ancient ruins, grottos and beautiful

beaches. Our next stop is to Megiddo, an ancient biblical city where king Josiah was killed in battle against the forces of Pharaoh Necho, and the 1918 battle

between the British under General Allenby and the Ottoman Empire. Finally on to Mt. Carmel to visit the "Place of Sacrifice" where the Prophet Elijah defeated with

the Priests of Baal (1 Kings 18:17-40) before checking in to our Galilee hotel.

Day 3- Tuesday, May 8

Golan Heights

We will begin our day at Tel Dan, a city mentioned in the Bible, described as the northernmost city of the Kingdom of Israel,

belonging to the Tribe of Dan. Our next stop is at Banias, one of the sources of the River Jordan, the site of Caesarea Philippi

where the Apostle Peter made his great confession of faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God (Matth. 16:13-17) and

the Grotto of Pan. Following this we will drive up to the Golan Heights, the long-ago kingdom of Bashan ruled by Og, last of the

Rephaim and from there to Mt Hermon, the site of the Watchers’ rebellion and mount of assembly of the chief Canaanite god, El. We will also be stopping at Mt.

Bental, a lookout point where we can see the "Road to Damascus", and then continue on to Katzrin. Katzrin, known as the "capital of the Golan heights" is home to

ancient structural remains which late back to the late Roman, Byzantine and Early Islamic periods. There, we will see an exciting multimedia show about the Golan

and then go on to visit the ancient olive oil press in Katzrin.

Day 4- Wednesday, May 9

Sea of Galilee

Our first stop of the day will be to The Sea of Galilee, a place rich in memories of the three years of Jesus' ministry was around

its shores. We will visit The Decapolis, where Jesus cast Legion into a herd of pigs. We will then enjoy a boat ride across the

Sea to visit the ruins of Capernaum which in Jesus' time was a flourishing border town and was called "his own city" because of

the frequency with which Jesus visited it and the mighty works he did there. We will also visit the Jesus Boat Museum. Our next stop of the day will be to Yardenit,

on the banks of the Jordan River, where you will have the chance to experience the tranquility and spiritual beauty of the waters in which Jesus was baptized by

John the Baptist and where Jesus practiced and preached across this part of the Holy Land. Our final stop of the day will be at Mt. Scopus where will be stand

and overlook Jerusalem and give thanks to the Lord.

Day 6- Friday, May 11

Samaria

Our first stop in Samaria will be to Ancient Shiloh, the site where the Tabernacle stood for 369 years, and what was once the

center of Jewish life. We will then continue on to Mt. Gerizim (Mt. of Blessing) and Mt. Ebal (Mt. Of Curses). We will end our day

the Jewish village of Beth El, to visit the site of Jacob's Dream Of The Ladder, and recount the story in the place that it

happened.

Day 5- Thursday, May 10

Judea Travel south to Hebron, city of the Patriarchs and first capital of King David. Tour the ancient Jewish neighborhoods and the Machpela cave. We will go from there to Susiya an ancient Jewish village from 4th – 9th Century where today you can visit the olive press, archeology, ancient tunnels and more, giving you a chance to really explore ancient biblical life. From there we will travel to Kfar Etzion, the first modern Jewish communities in Judea, we will then travel to Patriachs Road to walk in the footsteps

of the Forefathers, literally! We will end the day at the Haas Promenade to enjoy a panoramic viewpoint which offers a sweeping view of the city and, in true Jerusalem fashion, is itself replete with thousands of years of history. Overnight at Jerusalem hotel








Day 7 – Saturday, May 12

Sabbath Day

A chance to tour Jerusalem, enjoy the tranquility of Sabbath.

A chance for some free time for shopping in Jerusalem, an opportunity to purchase all your souvenirs and gifts and have

some free time to shop at your leisure.


Day 8 – Sunday, May 13

Dead Sea

We start our day with a visit to the cave of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We will then head south to Masada. Ascent by cable car for an extensive tour of the site - the scene of the Jewish resistance against the Romans in the year 73 AD. After this we continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on the face of the Earth. You will have plenty of time at the shores of the Dead Sea and have an opportunity for a bath in mineral rich waters (Dead Sea SPA).









Day 9 – Monday, May 14 Jerusalem After breakfast we will start our pilgrimage in Jerusalem with a drive to the top of the Mt. of Olives, from which Jesus ascended to Heaven after his resurrection. From the top of the Mount there is a magnificent view over all of ancient and modern Jerusalem, the center of the biblical world. We will visit the Garden of Gethsamane (time for prayer) and the Church of All Nations where Jesus prayed on the night of his betrayal (Lk. 22:40-46). Next we will visit the City of David archeological museum. We will visit the last standing remnant of the ancient Temple at the Western (Wailing) Wall and visit some of the

exciting archeological sites in and around the Old City. We will end the day at the Kotel Tunnels to unveil hidden sections of the Western Wall. Moving through underground passages, ancient trenches and much more. The Western Wall’s enormous courses of stone are revealed in full size and magnitude, telling us about

the architecture and building practices of different historical eras


Day 10 – Tuesday, May 15 Tel Aviv We will begin the day at the Valley of Elah, where David took down Goliath in a show of strength and courage. From there we will travel to Ancient Jaffa, one of Israel's oldest cities and home to an ancient port. We will then proceed to the Independence Hall Museum, housed in one of Tel-Aviv’s first buildings and the building where members of the Provisional State Council assembled and declared the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. We will end the tour with a farewell dinner and from there proceed to the airport for departure.








Day 11 – Wednesday, May 16 Arriving in the U.S Early morning arrival in the U.S.
