ELECTRICA CAELESTIS / CASUS BELLI MUSICA представляют THEORY "Global Electrification" – концептуальный ambient/industrial проект из Воронежа. За названием THEORY скрывается Антуан Графтио (так же SACRIS TANDEM, Conjuncture), который посвятил этот альбом своему знаменитому прапрадеду Генриху Осиповичу Графтио, выдающемуся русскому инженеру и конструктору, проектировавшему и строившему железные дороги, и гидроэлектростанции, принявшему самое деятельное участие в реализации плана ГОЭЛРО.Альбом "Global Electrification" издан лимитированным в 300 пронумерованных экземпляров в формате digisleeve + плакат 24 х 24 см.Антуан Графтио: Альбом посвящён выдающемуся русскому инженеру и моему родственнику Генриху Осиповичу Графтио.Генрих Графтио родился 14 декабря (26 декабря по новому стилю) 1869 года в городе Динабург в семье железнодорожника, потомка дворянского рода из Нидерландов. Окончил физико-математический факультет Новороссийского университета в Одессе в 1892 году и Петербургский Институт Корпуса инженеров путей сообщения в 1896 году, с 1896 года по 1900 год изучал гидроэлектрические станции и электрические железные дороги в Европе и США.В 1900—1917 годах проектировал и строил железные дороги, составил проекты электрификации железной дороги Крыма и Закавказья, ГЭС «Белый Уголь» на реке Подкумок (1903), ГЭС на реке Вуоксе (около 1905), на реке Малая Иматра (1905), на реке Волхов (1911), а также, по предложению городских властей Петербурга спроектировал и организовал движения электрического трамвая в Петербурге, открытое 29 сентября 1907 года маршрутом протяжённостью чуть более двух километров (от Адмиралтейской площади по Конногвардейскому бульвару, затем через Николаевский мост на Васильевский остров и дальше по 8-й линии до Большого проспекта) и продолженное позже ещё двумя созданными Графтио трамвайными линиями. Под его руководством была построена центральная электростанция с тремя паровыми турбинами, пять электроподстанций, три вагонных парка, проложено более 100 километров линий электрических контактных проводов и оборудовано более 100 моторных трамвайных вагонов.С 1907 года преподавал в Петербургском электротехническом институте, с 1921 года — профессор этого института.В 1912 году вместе с инженером Е. Палицыным по заказу Управления внутренних водных путей разработал проект гидроэлектростанции на Петропавловских порогах реки Волхов для снабжения энергией столичного железнодорожного узла. Но вмешательством «Общества электрического освещения 1886 года», снабжающим Петербург электроэнергией от своей тепловой станции, и опасавшихся негативных последствий возведения плотины землевладельцев, воплощение проекта было отложено на неопределённый срок.В 1917 году разработал проект сооружения наземного «железнодорожного метрополитэна» от Балтийского вокзала до железнодорожной станции Удельная в Петрограде.После смены власти, весной 1918 года года возглавил Электрожелдор — управление в составе Наркомпути, разрабатывавшее план электрификации железнодорожных магистралей страны.Через два года стал одним из вдохновителей Комиссии государственной электрификации России, созданной под патронажем Ленина, и непосредственным автором разделов плана ГОЭЛРО «Электрификация и транспорт» и «Электрификация Кавказского района».В начале 1921 года возглавил строительство Волховской ГЭС, где с 1918 года работал помощником главного инженера приостановленного в связи с Гражданской войной строительства. Был арестован 11 марта 1921 года Петроградской ЧК вместе со всем руководством Волховстроя. Освобождён как «крупный специалист» постановлением о «непричастности к делу» после личного вмешательства Ленина и Кржижановского.В 1924—1925 годах — директор Ленинградского электротехнического института.В 1927—1935 годах руководил строительством Нижнесвирской ГЭС, где впервые в практике мирового гидростроительства реализовал опыт возведения плотины с большим напором на слабых грунтах, положив в основу строительства принципTRANSCRIPT

Genrikh Osipovich Graftio wasa Russian engineer considered to be a pioneer of thehydroelectric station construction in the Soviet Union,as one of the founders of the GOELRO plan, andfamous for the construction of the first hydroelectricstations in the Soviet Union, the Volkhov HydroelectricStation in Volkhov and the Lower Svir HydroelectricStation in Svirstroy. Genrikh Graftio graduated fromthe Imperial Novorossiysk University in Odessa in 1892and the Petersburg Institute of Transport Engineeringin 1896, where he had been teaching since 1907. In1921, he was appointed a professor at this university.Between 1896 and 1900, he was an intern in Europe andUSA, studying the power equipment. In 1900, Graftiocreated the first project of the electrified railway inRussia, which was never realized. In 1906, he wascharged with developing an electric tram network inSaint Petersburg (at that time the capital of the RussianEmpire), which was opened in 1907. Since 1905, he wasinvolved in the project design of hydroelectric stations.In 1905, he designed a project of a power plant on theVuoksi River (never realized), and in 1910-1911 Graftiodesigned the power plant on the Volkhov River, whichwas realized only in 1927. Between 1918 and 1920Graftio was the first deputy of the chief constructionengineer of the Volkhov Hydroelectric Station, thefirst hydroelectric station to be built according to theplan. In February 1920, Graftio was included into thecommittee charged to draft the GOELRO plan, theprogram to provide sufficient electric power required
for future industrialization of Russia and, eventually,the Soviet Union. In the committee, he was responsiblefor the sections dealing with transportation and withthe electrification of the Caucasus areas. The planwas drafted in December 1920. Since early 1921,he had been a chief construction engineer until theconstruction finishing in 1927. On March 21, 1921,he was arrested on the charges of counterrevolutionaryactivity, but was released after several months dueto intervention of Gleb Krzhizhanovsky, who neededGraftio to continue working on the construction. After1927, he was the chief engineer of the construction ofthe Svir Hydroelectric Station, opened in 1933. In 1932,Graftio was elected a member of the USSR Academyof Sciences. Between 1938 and 1945, Graftio was theChief Inspector of the Ministry of Energy, responsiblefor the power plant construction. Theory/Global Electrification/Casus BelliMusica/2015 CD Review
Theory are a solos project from Russia that playsa mixture of ambient and industrial and this is areview of his 2015 album Global Electrificationwhich was released by Casus Belli Musica.
A very dark sounding ambient drone and fieldrecordings start off the album along with a touch ofpsychedelia and the music can also be very avantgarde at times and when spoken word parts areutilized they are mostly heard in the backgroundand a good portion of the tracks are also very longand epic in length.

Synths bring a great amount of diversity to themusic when they are utilized while the good portionof the music is created by non traditional musicalinstruments and you can also hear a touch ofunderground industrial in the songs at times whilethe main focus remains mostly on drones and darkambient soundscapes.
Theory creates a style of dark ambient andindustrial that is very experimental, avant garde andpsychedelic sounding, the production sounds verydark and raw while the song themes focus on the lifeand achievements of Genrikh Osipovich a Russianengineer who is also related to the composer of thisrecording.
In my opinion Theory are a very great soundingdark ambient/industrial musical project and if youare a fan of this musical genre, you should checkout this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKSINCLUDE In The Darkness Beginning Of GreatWork and Finale Empire. 8 out of 10.
