• Connotation– Devious, cold-hearted and

• Connotation– The pride of a country.

• Denotation– A weapon, a metal tube

from which bullets, shells, missiles or other projectiles are propelled by explosive force.

• Connotation– A cold-blooded murderer.

Colours

-Dark colours, showing the type of film that this is. It uses dark colours to show that there is a problem which the avengers are working to sort out. - Some of the avengers are wearing brighter colours to show they’re the good characters in the film.

Props

- All the avengers have there own props and costumes which are shown in the poster of the film.

- The background of the poster has many props in, such as plane’s crashing down, this is to show the catastrophe that has happened in the film.

Location

- The location of the film is in a broken town, this shows the danger in the film and makes the customer want to see how this works out

Actors/Models

- This has all the avengers in so fans of the franchise know who is in the film, as well as the recognisable actors that are used in all the films for these characters.- Also the most recognisable characters are used towards the front of the poster, such as iron man and Thor, as this appeals to the casual fans who may not know some of the other characters very well. They’re also the most recognisable actors as well as characters in the franchise.

Colours

- This uses bright colours in order to attract the target audience of the film, which is children.

- There are a lot of different colours that represent the different characters in the film.

Props

- There’s not many props in the poster, the only possible props being the cars, who are the characters in the film, these are used to show kids what and who the film is about.

Location

- The location of this film is a desert town, which is the place that the majority of the film is set, this shows people where the film is set, creating the mood of the film.

Actor/Model

- There is no real actor as it’s a cartoon film.

- They put the main character of the film at the front of the poster, as this is probably what most of the merchandise is based on, making it the most recognisable character in the film.

- The poster has dark colours in it to represent the genre of the film and what the film is about, they use these colours as it is a horror film, meaning the film is dark.

Props

- The only prop used in the poster is the mask of the main character. This is used in the poster as it is the most recognisable thing from the films, meaning people will know what film it is straight away from seeing this.

Location

- The location of this poster isn’t clear from the poster itself, this makes the film already start being mysterious, which goes along with the theme and the genre of the film, this being horror.

Actor/Model

- There’s only a character in this poster, and it is the main character of the “Scream” franchise, this makes the poster easily recognisable as part of the franchise, and also makes people want to know more about this character.

– The genre of this would be a horror film.– It would suggest that one of the people in the

image was about to do something bad to the other person.

– It suggests that one of the characters in the picture is an evil character.

• Clip 2– Cheerful and possibly romantic music, so this

could be from a romantic film.– It would suggest that the people in the picture

may be having a romantic conversation with each other, or have just had an intimate moment.

– It suggests that the characters may be in a relationship with each other, or they both like each other and want to get into a relationship with each other.

• Background music – joyous music that goes with this genre to create a better atmosphere, changing it from its original horror genre.

• Picks out certain clips from the film that make it look more romantic, manipulating the film and making it seem different than it really is.

Clip Analysis• Costume – Darth Vader’s overall costume is iconic in the franchise, it makes him look more

intimidating.• Dialogue – Darth Vader doesn’t talk much, creating a sense of mystery about him, putting

across how evil he is. • Props – Lightsabers – Darth Vader gets a red lightsaber to use, this is to show the evil people

in the star wars franchise. There were also other props, such as spaceships, futuristic weapons, etc.

• Lighting – It was always darkish, as it was in an evil setting, to put across the mysteriousness of Darth Vader, making him more frightening.

• Camerawork – Angles used to make Darth Vader look larger than he is, as well as dominate over the other two.

• Editing – Edited so that everything fits into place in the correct way, making it easy to follow and making you interested.

• Music – Tense music whenever Darth Vader was on screen, making him seem more powerful and scary.

• Colour – All dark, due to it being based in more of an evil setting, as they confront an evil person.
