There is แปลวา่ "มี" ใชก้บัค านามนบัไดเ้อกพจน ์และค านามนบัไม่ได้

There are แปลวา่"มี" ใชก้บัค านามนบัไดพ้หูพจน์

ตัวอย่างยกตวัอยา่ง เช่น There is / There are มีความหมายวา่ "มี" ใชเ้ม่ือตอ้งการจะบอกวา่ "มีอะไรอยูท่ี่ไหน“

How many plates are there on the table?(มีจานอยูบ่นโต๊ะก่ีใบ)

There is a plate on the table. (มีจานอยูบ่นโตะ๊ 1 ใบ)
