The area surrounding the Lake Miyagase is managed by the national government, Kanagawa Prefectural Govern-ment and local municipalities through their concerted efforts, based on the idea to “create in the suburbs of major cities a resort area equipped with natural park functions with a view to realizing exchange and coexistence between man and nature, as well as between cities and regions”. Specifically, in line with the policy to conserve nature as far as possible in the whole lakeside area, the development work was made for the three zones that possess large potentiality to enjoy the blessings of nature.
