Instructors are local visual and performing artists, as well as regional and national artists. 3 DEVELOP THE ARTS OCCA manages the Newport Performing Arts Center (PAC) and the Newport Visual Arts Center (VAC), both of which are hubs of a vibrant arts community. The PAC is “home” to 11 resident artist teams, including theater and dance companies, choral groups and a symphony, while the VAC is the arts heart of three galleries and two artist groups. OCCA leads the PAC capital campaign and the VAC steering committee. 4 PROMOTE THE ARTS OCCA is the “go-to source” for arts information on the 363 miles of the Oregon with its coastarts.org website. Print and e-newsletters, Arts Talk radio shows, Facebook, Twitter, the Oregon Coast Cultural Arts Visitors Guide – all illustrate OCCA’s role as a local and regional arts council that provides marketing support for arts organizations, such as Nestucca Valley Artisans, Coos Art Museum, Astor Street Opry, Lincoln City Cultural Center, Cannon Beach Arts Association, Manley Arts Center, and more. 5 INVEST IN THE ARTS OCCA strengthens the capacity of the arts from Astoria to Brookings through grant-writing assistance, non-profit board training, public art initiatives, technical assistance to Florence Regional Arts Alliance, contributions to Tillamook County Arts Network, fiscal sponsorship of the Lincoln County Cultural Coali- tion, which distributes Oregon Cultural Trust monies to local arts, heritage and humanities projects and the Oregon Coast Chamber Music Society, to name a few.
