Editors note...Editors note...Thank you Lord for the blessing, that I received in 2017.

I was Blessed with a magazine which 9th birthday we celebrated last month.I was blessed with a wonderful man in my life, amazing children, grandchildren and friends! I thank God everyday for every thing in my life! I am so grateful, for everything.

This is our last Issue for 2017, we at Top Vibe would like to thank

each and every one who was part of the magazine. May you and your family be blessed and may all your dreams come true in 2018.

Please be safe on our roads, where ever you may go, be aware of things around you, and if you stay home for the holidays have fun anyway.

I would like to wish you all a blessed Christmas, and a happy new

year, may all your dreams come true in 2018. Pray more, love more and give more!!

Unashamedly romantic, glamorous and hilarious all at the same time, the film pays loving tribute to the richness of African culture. It acknowledges the, sometimes schizophrenic, reality of many urban South Africans who live sophisticated modern lives which are nonetheless shaped by their family cultures, traditions and expectations.

Feisty choreographer, LU “LUNGILE” (Nondumiso Tembe), will do anything to avoid falling in love. Even more to avoid going home to South Africa, where she’s traditionally engaged to a king. However, when she meets her soulmate TEX (Darrin Dewitt Henson) she is forced to confront the tradition she’s been running away from since the death of her parents, when she turned 18, and the ancestral debt they left her. She hatches a plan to confront the King and convince him to forget about her, but when she prevails upon handsome royal advisor ZULU (Pallance Dladla), to help her get into the Royal Compound, he proves to be a dangerously seductive charmer, one who seems to represent all the best aspects of her background.

I got sand in my synapses during an early scene in which Tom Cruise, as a looter named Nick Morton (oh, “Mort,” I get it now), and his sidekick, played by Jake Johnson, casually slaughter a bunch of “Iraqi insurgents” trying to track down a mysterious treasure. Oh, sure, film makers, by all means use a tragic and unnecessary war that’s still yielding horrific consequences for the world as the backdrop for your stupid horror movie plot machinations, no problem here.

(She is played by Sofia Boutella, whose filmography testifies that she’s accustomed to being ill-used in motion pictures). The other is faux-archeologist/genuine anti-evil secret agent Jenny (Annabelle Wallis) who’s mainly around to be rescued by Nick, and whose surface venality suggests that his business card describes him as a “lovable rogue.”

So yes, should one choose to take offense, one certainly may. But I have to be honest—speaking of venality, I found something almost admirable about the film’s cheek. It’s amazingly relentless in its naked borrowing from other, better horror and sci-fi movies that I was able to keep occupied making a checklist of the movies referenced. At its opening, remnants of a past civilization are discovered while workmen are tunneling underground for a new subway route. That’s from “Quatermass and the Pit,” aka “Five Million Miles to Earth.”

The movie, which is set in the 1950's , not only boasts abeautiful set and costume design, but also a star studded cast. Andrew Garfield, who plays Robin, is famous for hisroles in The Social Network, Never Let Me Go, The Amazing Spider - Man and Silence.

Claire Foy, who is praised for her accurate portrayal of Diana Cavendish, starred in Season of the Witch and Going Postal. “ The most important thing to get was their love for each other. I didn’t want to over-sentimentaliseher, and she definitely doesn’t want to be seen as a saintor an angle, or incredible sort of nurse. It was actually true love,’ says Foy about getting into character for thepart. Hugh Bonneville, who has already been nominated for BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his role inDowntown Abby, and Tom Hollander (Mission Impossible,About Time, Pirates of the Caribbean) can also be seen in the movie.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and was alsoscreened at the Opening Night Gala at the BFI LondonFilm Festival. It has already been nominated for an ArchieAward for Best First Feature at the Philadelphia Film Festival and Best Makeup and Hair Design and Sound at the Independent British Film Awards.During the Heartland Film Festival, it won the Truly Moving Picture Award.
