    The capital city of Belarus is situated in a picturesque place on the banks of the Svisloch river. Minsk was

    first settled over 900 years ago in 1067. Not many real ancient monuments have remained in Minsk, much of

In Mir town (30 km from Nesvizh) you`ll see another pearl of Belarusianarchitecture -the Mir Castle - the 1st monument of national culture, included in UNESCO World Heritage List.The construction of this castle was started in the 1520s by Duke Ilinich. In 1568 the castle came into thehands of Mikolay Radziwil, who used it as his hunting castle and completed it in Renaissance style.A three-storey palace was built along the eastern and northern walls of the castle which had forty frettedrooms. Earth walls were built around the castle with bastions at the corners, surrounded by a water moat.

    Stalin Linewas a line of defensive installations dispersed fromone to six kilometers with different artificial obstacles.     KHATYN & GLORY MOUND(World famous memorial to 2nd World War victims)

    (1 hour, 57 km from Minsk)

    The memorial complex Khatyn is situated 57 km away from Minsk at the place of a village which was burnttogether with its inhabitants during World War II.Khatyn commemorates the victims of Hitler terror on the occupied Belarusian land.

    You will see the streets of the former village, the oven pipes monuments where the houses were burned downand will hear the drear voices of Khatyn bells.

    Kurgan Slavy(Glory Mound) 35 km from MinskGlory Mound is an imposing monument located at the top of an artificial hill. It was built in honor of the Soviet Armywhich liberated Belarus from the German Nazi invaders in 1944.
