Role of the PCC• Set the strategic direction of Sussex Police – Police and Crime Plan

budget • Estate Strategy – 5yrs , £20m investment led by PCC making

emerging policing threats.

Precept background• Sussex Police Precept has remained the same

since April 2010 (2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14)

• At £138.42 per Band D it is the lowest of all English shire forces and the fourth lowest in England and Wales

• Savings on target for 2014-15 but no provision for investments. Further savings totalling £26m required over the next two years

Policing needs going forward

- Frontline policing - Increase visibility and resilience of

neighbourhood and response policing

- Serious Sexual Offending - Increase capability to tackle serious sexual offending, child exploitation, organised and repeat domestic abuse and violence

- Cyber Crime - Counter the emerging threat of cyber crime, fraud, identity theft and serious organised crime

- Mobile technology -Develop mobile technology to maximise visibility and productivity of officers and staff
