About the Toyama International Center (TIC)The Toyama International Center (TIC) is an organization established in 1984 to promote international exchange through cooperation with prefectural citizens from all demographics as well as prefectural government agencies, universities, and the business world in order to promote the internationalization of Toyama Prefecture and develop the participation of prefectural citizens in international exchange. The TIC was recognized in 1990 by the Minister of Home Affairs (now the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communication) as a “Regional Association for Internationalization” in Toyama Prefecture and promotes internationalization efforts with the prefecture, local municipalities, and related organizations as a core agency for international exchange promotion. In addition, the TIC was certified as a “Special Public Interest Promotion Corporation” in 1995 and became a public interest foundation in 2011 through the new public interest corporation system started in 2008.
