-OntheLicenseAgreementscreen,clickYesbutton tocontinuetheinstallationorNobuttontoterminatetheinstallation.

-Chooseaninstallationharddriveandfilepathby clickingtheBrowsebuttonorusethedefaultdriver andfilepath(Pleaseensurethereisenoughspace ontheselecteddrive).

-ThenclicktheNextbutton.

-ConfirmtheprogramfolderandclickNext.

-ThiswilltakeyoutotheStartCopyingFilesdialogue box.ClicktheNextbutton.


-Click the Finish button. If your computer does nothaveMicrosoftFramework2.0(oralaterversion)ins-talled,theprogramwillpromptyouwithamessagetoinstallFramework2.0.ClicktheOkbuttonandfollowthe installation instruction on the screens to installFramework2.0software.

If you see “Setup cannot continue because this version of the .Net Framework is in-compatible with a previously installed one” message during the Framework installation, please go to Control Panel, double click Add or Remove Programs in XP or Programs and Features in Vista to remove previous versi-on of the Framework and uninstall the IC-Report DuoVisionXXX software (See section 1.2, where XXX is version name, such as Std, Pro, USB, NET). Follow the above steps to re-install the application.

1.3 UninstallIC-ReportDuoVision

-ClickStartatthebottomleftoftheWindows’s desktop.UndertheIC-ReportDuoVisionXXXof AllProgramsclickUninstallIC-ReportDuoVisi onXXXandfollowingtheinstructionstoremove theIC-ReportDuoVisionXXXsoftware.

2.0 GETTING STARTED

2.1 LaunchApplication

Therearetwosimplewaysyoucanlaunchthepro-gram.ClickStartatthebottomleftoftheWindows’sdesktopandundertheIC-ReportDuoVisionXXXoftheAllProgramsselectIC-ReportDuoVisionXXX.YoucanalsosimplydoubleclicktheIC-ReportDuoVisionXXXicononyourWindowsDesktop.

Note:For theprofessionalversion,usermustplugadongleassociatedwiththesoftwareontothecompu-ter.Otherwise,theprogramwillbeterminated.

2.2 TerminateApplication

Usercan terminate theapplicationbyselectingExitfromtheFilemenuorclickingthetoprightbutton.

3.0 INTRODUCTION

3.1 Interfaces

TheFigureshowsthemaininterfaceoftheapplication,whichhasmenus,atoolbar,anIRanalysisarea,andin-formationareas.Operationalfunctionscanbeselectedusingthemenus,toolbar,orbyrightclickingthemouseontheimageitself.TheIRanalysisareaisacontainerfordisplayinganalysisofthermaland/orCCDimages.Theinformationareasdisplayanalysisdata,status,andresults.

3.2 Functions

- Filter Setatemperaturerangeasafileopenfilter,whichonlyopensthermalimagesinwhichthe maximumtemperaturevaluefallsintoaspecified temperaturerange.

Examples: -Openthermalimagefile(s)inwhichthemaximum temperatureislessthanorequalto60degreeCel sius.

-Openthermalimagefile(s)inwhichthemaximum temperatureisgreatthanorequalto60degree Celsius.


-Openthermalimagefile(s)inwhichthemaximumtemperaturesisbetween40and60degreeCelsius.

- Open IR File YoucanopenoneormultiplethermalimagesinSAT, JPGwiththermaldata,andBMPwiththermaldatafor- matfiles.Youcanalsoopenassociateddigitalimage inCCDformatforfusionwork. Action:menuFile=>OpenIRFileorclicktheOpen IRFileshortcut.

- Open Image OpenoneormultipledigitalimageinJPGorBMP format.Thedigitalimagecanbeusedforanalysis reportingandimagefusionwithathermalimage. Action:menuFile=>OpenImageorclicktheOpen Imageshortcut.


- Save Report InReportMode,savethecurrentanalysisresults intoaWordformatfile(.doc). Action:menuFile=>SaveReport=>selectfile nameandpath=>ClickSavebutton.

- Batch Report ForPro,USB,orNETversion,usercanselecta reporttemplateandmultiplethermalimagestogenerateWordformatreports(.doc)ornewreport templates(.irt).BatchReportusesselectedthermal imagestoreplacethethermalimage(s)inthereport templateandrecalculateanalysisresults.

Action:menuFile=>BatchReport

-SelectSingleFileorSeparateFileforthereport generating.SingleFilewillsaveallreportsintoa

singleWordfileandSeparateFilewillsavethe reportsintoseparatefiles.

-Choosereporttemplatemethods:1)searchatem- plate(.irtfile)fromfilebrowseofleftside,drag anddropthethumbnailofthetemplateintothe TemplateNameboxontherightside,2)directly typethepathandtemplatenameintothe TemplateNameboxontherightside,3)click BrowsebuttonontherightofTemplateNamebox, selectatemplate.

-Choosethermalimagemethods:searchthermal images(.sator.jpgwiththermaldatafile)from filebrowseofleftside,1)draganddropthesel- ectedthumbnailsofthermalimagefilesintothe SelectedImageboxontherightside,2)clickAdd button.Theprogramusestheselectedthermal imagesinone-by-oneordertoreplacethermal imagesinthetemplate.Whenthelastthermalimage isreplaced,anewpageorreportwillbe generated.Ifresidueislessthanthenumberof imagesinthetemplate,therestthermalimages willkeepunchanged.

- Choosepathandfilenamethatthereportwill besaved;

- Selectfiletypeofthegeneratedreport;

- ClickGeneratebutton

- Open IRW File -Openananalysisworkingfile(.irw).TheIRW includesallanalysisobjectsandresultssaved fromananalysissession,whichallowyouto continuelastanalysissession.


IRW File is available for the PRO, USB, or NET version.

Action:menuFile=>OpenIRWFile=>select aworkingtemplatefileinExplore=>ClickOpen button.

- Save IRW File -Inanalysismode,youcansaveallanalysis contentsexceptFusionandImageMerging windows/containersintoaworkingfile(.irt)and openitlatertocontinueanalysis.

IRW File is available for the PRO, USB, or NET version

Action:menuFile=>SaveIRWFile=>specify workingtemplatefilename=>ClickSavebutton

- Open IRT File -Openareporttemplatefile(.irt)intoreportmode forediting.TheIRTisaformattedreporttemplate filethatcanbeusedtogeneratebatchreports(see 3.2.5BatchReport). Action:menuFile=>OpenIRTFile=>selecta reporttemplatefileinExplore=>ClickOpenbutton.

- 9. Save IRT File -Inreportmode,youcansavethecurrentformatted contentsexceptFusionandImageMergingwindows/ containersasareportingtemplateintoafile(.irt). Thetemplateisusedtogeneratebatchreport,which usesselectedthermalimageandanalysisdatainthe templateformattoformanalysisreports(see3.2.5 BatchReport). Action:menuFile=>SaveIRTFile=>specify reporttemplatefilename=>ClickSavebutton.

- 10. Save IR As -Yousaveanopenedthermalimageormultiple thermalimagesintofile(s)inaspecifiedformat. Action:menuFile=>SaveIRAs=>specifyimage(s), type,temperaturescale,temperaturedata,path =>ClickOK.

ChoosingtheCurrentImagemeanstosavethe currentselectedthermalimageintoafi le. ChoosingtheAllImagesmeanssaveallthermal imagesinAnalysisorReportwindowintofiles. Youcanspecifyafiletype(JPG,BMP,orSAT).For JPGandBMPtypes,youcanspecifywhetheror notincludesthetemperaturescaleofthethermal image.ForJPGtype,youcanspecifywhether ornotincludestemperaturedataofthethermal image.IfanimageissavedinJPGformatwith temperaturedata,youcanopenitasathermal imageandperformanalysisasanimageinthe SATformat.

SpecifyfilepathandnamethroughtheBrowse andclickOK.ClickCanceltoaborttheoperation. A file in CSV format can be opened by a text edit tool and Microsoft Excel. Ex-porting data into CSV file is much faster than into Excel file. Therefore, using CSV file for data export is recommended.

- Distribution Aftergenerateadistributionchart,youcanright clickonthedistributioncharttoexportthedistribu- tiondataintoafileinCSVformat.

4.1 OpenIRFile

Byclicking theOpen IRFileshortcut orOpen IRFilefromthemenu,youcanexploreandopenoneormulti-plethermalimagefilesatonce(SeeFig.4.1.1).Theap-plicationsupportsSAT(.sat),JPGwiththermaldata,andBMPwiththermaldataformatfiles.ItcanalsoopenCCDformat(.ccd)imagefiles.

Fig.4.1.2showsopenedthermalimagesintheanaly-sisarea.Theinformationareaontherightsideoftheanalysisareawilllisttemperatureinformationofeachthermal image and associated drawings displayingfile or drawing name, maximum temperature, mini-mum temperature, average temperature, emissivity,ambienttemperature,relativehumidity,effectivedis-tance,andtemperaturecorrection.

4.2 OpenImage

By clicking the Open Image shortcut or OpenImage from themenu,youcanexploreandopenoneormultipleimagefilesatonce.TheapplicationsupportsJPGandBMPimagefiles.

4.3 CloseImages

Youcanclick onthetoprightofadisplaywindowtocloseanimageorclicktheshortcut to close allopenedimagewindowsintheanalysisarea.

4.4 Drawing

Temperature- Range Calibratedtemperaturerangeprovidedbythema- nufacturerisoneoftheparametersfortemperature calculationofinfrareddata.Aninfraredcameracan havemultiplecalibratedtemperaturerangesifitis equippedmultiplelensesand/orfilters.Forexample, ifaninfraredcameraisequippedwithonelens andhastwoembeddedfilters,itwillhavethreeca libratedtemperaturerangeswherethefirstrangeis forthelensonly,thesecondisforthelenswithone filtercovered,andthethirdisforthelenswithtwo filterscovered.Ifaninfraredcamerahasnofilter, thesecondandthirdrangeforalenswillbeassig- nedwiththefirstone(SeeexampleofFig.4.5.1).Du- ringrealtimemonitoring,youcanmeasuredifferent temperaturerangesbyselectingacalibratedtem- peraturerange. For the STD version, you can only label tem-perature values for the whole thermal image. For the PRO, USB, or NET version, you can label temperature for the whole thermal image and analysis tools (e.g. point, line, etc.).

- Settings Besidesthecalibratedtemperaturerange,theemis- sivityofmaterial,ambienttemperature,relativehumidity,effectivedistance,andtemperaturecorrectionare parametersofthetemperaturecalculation.Youcan setparametersbyrightclickingonathermalimage andchoosingTemperatureSettingsfromthepopup menu.Youcansetparametersofthewholeimageand anyspecifieddrawing(e.g.point,line,circle,rectangle, poly-line,andpolygon).

Youcanenteremissionvalueorclick toselecta system provided value. Each material in the list has a range of emissivity and default emission value.When you select a row andclick Ok or Apply,thedefaultemissionvaluewillbeused. Whenyoudoubleclickanemissionvalue inaco- lumnofarow,thatvaluewillbeused.

4.6Chart

- Histogram Thechartcanshowtemperaturestatisticsofaspe- cifiedthermalarea.Forgeneratinghistogram,move cursorontoaselectedcircle,rectangle,orpolygon; rightclickmouseandclickHistogramfromthepo- pup menu. You can right click mouse on a chart windowtosetnumberoftemperaturesegmentsfor statistics and color scheme of the histogram (See Fig).You can move the area to view the statistics results.

For the PRO, USB, or NET version, you can edit Emissivity table and add emission data.

Thetrendofstaticimageallowsyoutoanalyzetem peraturechangesofthesameobjectfromimages thathavethesameviewbutweretakenatdifferent times. Iftheselectedwindowisathermalrecordormonitor, trendsofminimum,average,andmaximumtempera- turesofthewholeimageorselectedtoolsarepro- ducedbychoosingthermalimagesand/ortoolswith temperaturetype.

5.0 IMAGE PROCESS

5.1Palette

YoucanchangecolorschemeofwholethermalimagebyrightclickingonathermalimageordrawingareaandclickingPalettefromthepopupmenu.(SeeFig.)shows,beforeandafter,thechangesofcolorschemesfromaGreypalette.

Thesystemprovidessevenpalettesandtheirreversedsettings.YoucanchecktheReverseboxtogetacom-plementarypalettescheme.For thePRO,USB,orNET

version,youcansetapaletteforindividualtoolarea(e.g.circle,rectangle,andpolygon).

5.2IsothermalArea

Youcanmarkaspecifiedtemperaturerangebysettingisotherm.Two isothermal areas canbe set per image(SeeFig.).

Youcanchangethecontrastofthethermalimagebychoosingthetemperaturerangeasamappingrangeorspanontoapalette(SeeFigure).RightclickmouseonaselectedthermalimageandclickImageAdjustingfromthepopupmenu.IntheImageAdjustingwindow,clicktheManualradiobutton,adjustingthebluebuttononthescrollbartoselectthetemperaturerangethatyouwouldliketouseasthecolormappingspan.

Theimageadjustingwindowshowsthetemperaturedistributionofathermalimagewithaspecifiedpalettescheme,inwhichyoucanchooseatemperatureran-gebasedonthedistribution.Thehalvedbluetriangle

buttoncanbemovedindependently.Thebluetrianglebuttonisusedtomovetheentirespanleftorright(itmovestherangesetbybothendsofthehalvedbluetriangle buttons). You can also move Brightness orContrastbuttontoadjustimagecolormapping.

5.4 AreaAdjusting

For the PRO, USB, or NET version, you can changebrightness or contrast of a thermal image based ontemperature range within a tool area. (See Fig.) isbasedonarectangletomapcolorscheme.TheAreaadjustingallowsyoutogetaclearerviewofaselectedareayouaremostconcernedwith.

Fortheareaadjusting,rightclickmouseonaselecteddrawing area (e.g. circle, rectangle, or polygon) andclickAreaAdjustingfromthepopupmenu.RightclickmouseonaselecteddrawingareaandclickAreaAd-justingagaintoremovetheareaadjusting.


5.5 IRImageSwitch

Youcanreplacethecurrentthermal imagewithano-ther thermal imageby right clicking on it and select“IRImageSwitch”.Thisfeatureisusefulforanalyzingdifferentthermalimageswiththesamesetofanalysistools.

5.6 Fusion

Thefusionfunctionallowsyoutoblendadigitalimage(BMP,CCD,orJPG)withaninfraredimage,whichcanassistinidentifyingobjectsofinfraredimages.

Stepsofmakingfusion:

1.Openathermalimage(.satfile)andadigitalimage (.bmp,.ccd,orjpgfile).

• Click the shortcut;

• Inthefusionsettingwindow,selectathermalimage andadigitalimage.

2.ClicktheOkbutton;

3.Adjustsizeofthedigitalimagewindowtomakeits objectmatchingthermalimage’sobject;

Click Merge shortcut intofilemergingmodeto concatenatethermalrecordfiles.

Youcanselectthermalrecordfilesinordertoconca- tenatethemintoonenewrecordfile.Note:sincethe maximumfilesizeofWindowsXPis2GB,thesoftware willautomaticallysplitthemergingfileintoseveralse- quentialfilesifthemergedfilesizeisgreaterthan2GB. 11.0 IMAGE MERGING

TheImageMergingfunctionisavailableinthePRO, USB,andNETversion,whichyoucanmergemultiple thermalimagesortoolareas(e.g.rectangle,circle, andpolygon)intoasinglethermalimage.This functionisusefulforthermalanalysisofalargesite (i.e.wideview)orequipment(e.g.360degree).

Mergingsteps:

• Openthermalimagesthatyouwouldliketo performimagemerging.

• InmenuAction,selectImageMergingorclick Image Merging shortcut ;

• SelectIRcameratypeandmergingcontainersize;

• Onasourcethermalimage,selectthewhole imageoranarea(e.g.rectangle,circle,or polygon),rightclickmousebuttonandselect AddintoMergingFile,whichcopiestheselected wholeimageorareaintothemergingcontainer. Inthecontainer,youcanleftclickmousebutton onanareaandholdmousetomovearound thearea.

• RightclickinthecontainerandselectLayer Adjusting.UseTop,Up,Down,orBottombuttonto adjusttheorderoflayersoftheoverlappedimage areas.

• Todeleteanareafromthecontainer,clickDelete Toolsshortcut selectanareaandleftclick.

• Themergingcontainercannotbeusedforthermal analysis. For thermal analysis, you can save the mergedimageintoaSATorJPGwithtemperature dataformatfile. Rightclickonthemergingcon- tainerandselectSaveMerged Image,whichyou canchooseaSAT,JPG,orBMPformat.

- Default Parameters Objectisusedtoselectsavingthecurrentthermal imageorallopenedthermalimagesintofile(s). Temperature Data is for saving temperature data intoJPGformatfileifYesisselected.Italwayssaves thermaldataintoSATformatfile. AnalysisToolsisdeterminedwhetherornottosave analysistoolsordrawingsonthethermalimageinto theJPGandBMPformatfile.Youcannotsaveanalysis toolsintotheSATformatfile. ShowSavingDialogueWindowindicatesthesystem willpopupasavingdialoguewindowforspecifying filenameandpathifitischecked. SaveSettingsistospecifysavingpathforeachfile typeanddefaultfiletype. Default saves the parameters as permanent initial defaultvaluesifitischecked.

12.2Snapshot- Default Parameters:

ObjectofSnapshotchoosestakingsnapshot(s)either from the current thermal imageor fromall opened thermalimages.

NumberofSnapshotchooseshowmanysnapshots totakeononeclick.Thisfunctionisusefulforthermal analysisofrealtimemonitor.

Temperature Data determines whether or not save temperaturedataintoJPGformatfile.Italwayssaves thermaldataintoSATformatfile.

AnalysisToolsdetermineswhetherornotsaveanalysis toolsordrawingsonthethermalimageintotheJPG andBMPformatfile.Youcannotsaveanalysistools intotheSATformatfile.

Temperature Setting specifies a temperature range ofthefilter. AdvancedSettingspecifiesadefaultofimageadjust- mentmethod,whetherdisplayminimumormaximum temperatureonthescreen,anddefaultpalette. Defaultsavestheparametersaspermanentinitialde- faultvaluesifitischecked.

12.7System- Default Parameters: SystemSettingspecifiesdefaultofworkingdirectory andcolors. Defaultsavestheparametersaspermanentinitialde- faultvaluesifitischecked.

12.8TemperatureCalibrationEach IRcamerahas its calibrated temperature table.Thetableisrequiredfortemperaturecalculation.Thetablefile(dataload.bin)isprovidedonthesoftwareCDprovidedbyIRcameramanufacturer.ForUSBmonitor, ifthetableofthecurrentcameraisfound,youneedtoaddthetablebeforeyoucanper-formmonitoring.
