Orientation period for new student in my university, called OSMARU, was an

unforgettable experience in my journey of being a college student. It was held at August 20 th 

until 22nd. In those 3 days, we got a chance to know our campus and our major more.

First day, we were asked to come at 7 a.m. First day’s dress-code was white shirt,

white trousers, almamater jacket, white shocks, and black shoes. OSMARU was begun byopening ceremony in front of the directorate building. All of new students were gathered

here. The ceremony was led directly by the rector. Here, we met a lot of new friends. After 

opening ceremony, we continued our OSMARU event in our each faculty. I as student from

agriculture faculty, continued the OSMARU event at 3th floor of building B of agriculture

faculty. Before entering the room, we should use our attributes which had been asked by the

committee.

We got many sessions which were also led by some lecturers. Before the first day of 

OSMARU ended, suddenly we were yelled by the seniors and they gave us tasks for the

second day of OSMARU. They told us the tasks with superfast until we couldn’t follow what

the senior had told. But fortunately, the list of the tasks was written in 2 boards outside the

 building. Seniors gave us 15 minutes to write it or capture it by phone.

In the night, my friends and I did the tasks together in front of UNS until

approximately 11 p.m. Although we were very tired that day, but we still did our tasks until

they were done. After that, we went home to take a rest and recover our energy for the second

day.

The second day's dress-code was same with the day before, but the difference was

we wore black trousers that day. We came at 6.30 a.m. Attendance checking and checking of 

tasks were done by the seniors in the morning. After that, we got some sessions again in the

hall. Sometimes some seniors came and entertained us during break time. They made jokesand asked us to sing and dance together. The schedule was almost same with the previous

day. And at the end of the second day of OSMARU, the seniors came again and told us the

tasks for the third day.

In the night, I did the tasks with my friends again in front of UNS as well.

We came at 6.30 a.m. too in third day. Third day's dress-code was same with the

second day's. But the difference was we wore blue shirt. In this third day, we had to bring a

 plant based on the rule. There were attendance checking and checking of the tasks like the

days before.

We had discussion session to in the afternoon before lunch time. We discussed about

many things, especially about agriculture in Indonesia. It was very interesting for me to know

other people’s ideas. After lunch time, we were asked to made a formation and the committe

took pictures of it. The formation was FP UNS. But before that, we were asked to sing and

dance together again. It was fun.

The last day of OSMARU ended with some surprises. Many plastics with water in it

were thrown to us from the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. We ran everywhere to avoid them.

Finally, we sang Mars Mahasiswa and Mars UNS together happily.

Before going home, my friends and I took many photos together. Because I thought

OSMARU was memorable.

3 days of OSMARU were really tiring. Because I had to sleep in the midnight or 

even more, I had to wake up very early, I had to do this and that. But in the middle of it, I

found many new good friends and experiences. I also learned how to manage and obey the

time well.
