• Location: Pacific Ocean, North East of Australia• 10,000 inhabitants, with 8km of roads, and
only 1 hospital• Former British colony until 1978• The Tuvaluan language and English are the
national languages

• Tuvalu is made out of three reef islands and six true atolls. An Atoll is an island made of coral
• Its small, scattered group of atolls have poor soil and a total land area of only about 26 square kilometres (10 square miles) making it the fourth smallest country in the world
