SEGUNDA COLECTA ESTE FIN DE SEMANA La segunda colecta de este fin de semana es en apoyo del Fondo para Salud y Retiro del Clero, que atiende la salud y el bienestar de nuestros sacerdotes vigentes. Nuestros sacerdotes han dedicado sus vidas a servirnos a todos nosotros y a quienes lo necesitan, llevando el amor y la esperanza de Cristo a los demás para que puedan verlo en el mundo de hoy. Ya sea dentro de las comunidades de nuestras parroquias o en la comunidad más amplia, nuestros sacerdotes hacen una diferencia todos los días. Al apoyar la colecta de este fin de semana, ayudamos a garantizar que nuestros sacerdotes reciban el cuidado que necesitan para continuar su importante labor. Esta segunda colecta exclusiva es una fuente principal de fondos para cuidar de nuestros sacerdo-tes. Su generosidad será muy bien recibida.

PRIMER PASO EN NUESTRO PROCESO COLABORATIVO La Parroquia San Benito comenzará a funcionar como una colaboración para Discípulos en Mision el 1ro de junio de 2020. En este punto estamos en la etapa 8 del proceso. El domingo, 6 octubre de 4pm– 7pm en el hall de la escuela tendremos el primer taller de Discípulos en Misión como preparación para cuando San Benito sea colaboración. Cada persona que de algún servicio dentro de la parroquia esta llamado a tomar este taller. Como colaboración, eventual-mente escribiremos un plan para la evangelización en nuestra parroquia. Sigamos orando por nuestra parroquia para que sigamos abiertos a la obra del Espíritu Santo entre nosotros.

LA CATECESIS COMIENZA EL 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE El Primer día de catequesis es el domingo 15 de septiembre a las 10am. Las inscripciones continuarán el 15 de septiembre de a las 9 am en el convento. Por favor traiga una copia del certificado bautismal de su hijo/a si recibira un sacramento este año.

CELEBRACIÓN DE VIRGEN DE COROMOTO El domingo, 15 de septiembre a las 2pm, tendremos en nuestra parroquia la celebracion de la Virgen de Coromoto, patrona de Venezuela. El evento comienza con la misa de 2pm seguido por la celebracion en el hall de escuela. Todos son invitados.

SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND This weekend’s second collection supports the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust which cares for the health and well-being of our priests in good standing. Our priests have dedicated their lives to serving all of us and those in need, bringing the love and hope of Christ to others so that they may see Him in today’s world. Whether it is within our parish communities, or in the community at large, our priests are making a difference every day. By support-ing this weekend’s collection, you are helping to ensure that our priests receive the care they need to continue their important work. This dedicated second collection is a primary source of funding to care for our priests. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

FIRST STEP IN OUR COLLABORATIVE PROCESS St. Benedict Parish will begin to function as a collaborative for Disciples in Mission on June 1, 2020. At this point we are at stage 8 of the process. On Sunday, October 6, from 4pm-7pm at the school cafeteria, we will have the first workshop of Disciples In Mission as a preparation for collaboration. Everyone is encouraged to attend. As a collaborative, at the final stage we will write a plan for evangeliza-tion in our parish. Let’s keep praying for our parish so we continue to be open to the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst.

CATECHESIS BEGINS SEPTEMBER 15TH The first day of catechesis will be on Sunday, September 15th at 10am. Registrations will continue on September 15th at 9am in the convent. Please bring a copy of your child’s/children’s Baptismal certificate to the registration if he/she will receive a sacrament this year.

CELEBRATION OF THE VIRGIN OF COROMOTO On Sunday, September 15, we will have in our parish the celebration of the Virgin of Coromoto, patroness of Venezuela. The event begins with the 2pm Mass followed by the celebration in the school cafeteria. Everyone is invited.

Los presen-tamos ante ti en acción de gracias e intercedemos por ellos en sus esperanzas y necesidades. Haz que estemos atentos a la presencia de tu Palabra en ellos, Palabra que eleve y afirme, y que a la vez convoque y desafíe, que sea compasiva y que con-suele. Oremos para que nuestra familia parroquial siempre sea bendecida con aquellos que han respon-dido al llamado a compartir la misión profética de Cristo como catequistas. Que estemos también abiertos al llamado universal al servicio que Cristo dirige a todos sus discípulos, contribuyendo con nuestros dones a la comunión de la fe, la Iglesia. Prayer for Catechists O God, our Heavenly Father, you have given us the gift of these catechists to be heralds of the Gospel to our parish family. We lift them up to you in thanks-giving and intercede for them concerning their hopes and needs. May we be attentive to the presence of your Word in them, a Word that lifts up and affirms, calls forth and challenges, is compassionate and consoles. We pray that our parish family will always be blessed with those who have responded to the call to share in Christ’s prophetic mission as catechists. May we too be open to the universal call to service that Christ addresses to all of his disciples, contributing our gifts to the communion of faith, the Church. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen. The gospel today speaks of the lost sheep, lost coin, lost son. There is great rejoicing when what is lost has been found. Each of the parables make it clear that God does not want to see anyone lost, because of sin. In your prayer this week ask for the grace to be open to see that God is crazy in love for you just as if you were the only person in the world. Rejoice in that gift!

El Evangelio de hoy nos habla sobre la oveja perdida, la moneda perdida y el hijo pródigo. Hay un gran rego-cijo cuando lo que se había perdido es encontrado. Cada una de las parábolas nos muestra claramente que Dios no quiere que nadie se pierda por causa del pecado. En tus oraciones de esta semana pide la gracia para estar abierto a ver cómo Dios está loco de amor por ti como si fueras la única persona en el mundo. ¡Alégrate por ese don?


119. Ese Cristo que nos salvó en la Cruz de

nuestros pecados, con ese mismo poder de su

entrega total sigue salvándonos y

rescatándonos hoy. Mira su Cruz, aférrate a Él,

déjate salvar, porque «quienes se dejan salvar

por Él son liberados del pecado, de la tristeza,

del vacío interior, del aislamiento». Y si pecas y

te alejas, Él vuelve a levantarte con el poder de

su Cruz. Nunca olvides que «Él perdona setenta

veces siete. Nos vuelve a cargar sobre sus

hombros una y otra vez. Nadie podrá quitarnos

la dignidad que nos otorga este amor infinito e

inquebrantable. Él nos permite levantar la

cabeza y volver a empezar, con una ternura

que nunca nos desilusiona y que siempre

puede devolvernos la alegría».

119. The same Christ who, by his cross,

saved us from our sins, today continues

to save and redeem us by the power of

his total self-surrender. Look to his cross,

cling to him, let him save you, for “those

who accept his offer of salvation are set

free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness

and loneliness”. And if you sin and stray

far from him, he will come to lift you up

by the power of his cross. Never forget

that “he forgives us seventy times seven.

Time and time again, he bears us on his

shoulders. No one can strip us of the

dignity bestowed upon us by this

boundless and unfailing love. With a

tenderness that never disappoints but is

always capable of restoring our joy, he

makes it possible for us to lift up our

heads and to start anew”.
