Healing and Hope Services: To Jesus

Through Mary The Gospel passages about our Lady show her as the

Mother of Jesus, following her Son step by step, playing a

part in his redemptive mission, rejoicing and suffering with

him, loving those whom Jesus loves, looking after all those

around her with maternal care.

It is not surprising then that one of the oldest witnesses to

this devotion to Mary is confident prayer: “We gather under

your protection, holy Mother of God. Do not reject the pray-

ers we say to you in our need, but save us from all dan-

gers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.”

As St. Maximilian Kolbe said, we should “never be afraid of

loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her

more than Jesus did.”

In October 1571, the Church in Europe faced a seemingly

hopeless challenge. Pope Pius V called on rosary confra-

ternities in Rome and all over Europe to undertake special

public recitation of the Rosary, asking the intercession of

the Blessed Mother. As Christians all over Europe prayed

for Our Lady’s intercession, Europe was saved. Pope Pius

established an annual commemoration to honor Our Lady

of Victory.

Saint Padre Pio, truly a man of prayer and suffering said,

“Pray, hope and do not worry”. He loved to pray the Rosary

and recommended it to others. To someone who asked him

what legacy he wished to leave to his spiritual children, his

brief reply was, “My child, the Rosary.”

In Fatima, Our Lady said pray the rosary every day for

peace in the world. I’m certain Our Lady wants us to pray

the rosary everyday now for the end to global health cri-

sis. I strongly believe that Our Blessed Mother’s role is to

lead us to Jesus who is really present in the Blessed Eu-

charist.

As we believe, Holy Mass is highest form of prayer

and the greatest miracle. Miracles do happen as heav-

en is bought down to earth at the time of the Consecra-

tion. During the month of October, we will have a spe-

cial celebration of the mass preceded by the Holy Ro-

sary that aims at helping people find healing in whatev-

er areas they may require it. For God wants to heal us

through the powerful sacrament of the Eucharist. It is His

gift to the Church. I strongly encourage you all, Keep at-

tending the Healing and Hope Mass, if you feel the Lord

has not healed you the first time. I have found that people

are gradually healed. May God grant you the gift of healing

and hope, through the powerful intercession of Mother of

Jesus and our Mother, the full of Grace.

United with you in prayer and hope for healing,

Your priest – Fr Bala Raju Policetty

The 2020/21 Catholic Services Appeal

this weekend in our cluster parishes.

Thank you for filling out a Catholic Services Appeal Envelope. For those who did not fill one out, please

do so as soon as you are able. No gift is too small, and our parish is trying to reach 100% participa-tion. By making your gift today you can save a volunteer from having to call, you saving time and expense. Our pledges from each church we have raised toward our Catholic Services Appeal goals are listed below. There are many challenges that face us today. The shortage of priests is one such challenge. The responsibility our parish has to help provide diocesan services and ministries such as support for vocations and the education of seminarians is an answer to that challenge.

Online Giving to the Catholic Services Appeal provides donors with a secure and easy way to

make a gift. Your parish is automatically credited with your gift. Go to: www.catholicdos.org.

Remember…no gift is too small. We are striving to reach 100% participation. $5 is better than no

gift and greatly appreciated.

Next council meeting to be held at 7:00pm, October 13 at St. Peter Church in Cameron

Our Knights of Columbus invite you to join them, every day at 12:00 Noon, in praying one Our Father and One Hail Mary for the intention of combating the Covid -19 virus. Thank you for the opportunity to pray together! We are asking for all Catholic men to prayerfully consider becoming a Knight. If you are interested in becoming a member or would just like to know more, or if you are a member and need a ride to meetings or events please contact us. SEPTEMBER IS FOOD SHELF DONATION MONTH FOR ST. BONIFACE.

This year, due to Covid-19, we ask that you take your generous donations to the food shelf directly instead of leaving them at St. Boniface. Thank you and God bless!

We welcome all who are healthy and willing to fol-

low safety guidelines to join us for weekly Mass!

A FEW REMINDERS FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS: • As we represent the greater Catholic church, we need

to be examples of safe practices, not exceptions. • Everyone is requested to wear a mask if able. Please

bring your own. • Please stay 6’ from others when on church property

(with the exception of immediate family units). This includes the parking lot, entry ways, and lay ministers helping with the Mass.

• Bathrooms should not be used unless completely necessary.

• The celebration of Mass will feel a little different, as there are no processions, seating is socially distanced, no congregational singing takes place, only the Body of Christ is distributed as you leave the building.

• Please note that you should leave the building follow-ing the reception of the Body of Christ. If you’d like to “visit” with others following Mass, please do so outside and practice social distancing. This will maintain the reverence of Jesus’ presence as others are still receiv-ing in the church.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
