Austin District – Crossroads Traffic Safety Coalition

MISSION: To work together to improve safety for all transportation system users by using data-

driven and evidence-based approaches and strategies.

Launched January 2013

Monthly meetings focus on:

•  Featuring presenters who share information on programs, research, public awareness campaigns, and other resources to help coalition members be more effective in their work, and more knowledgeable across the traffic safety spectrum.

•  Providing a forum to share information and resources, and develop collaborations..

•  Supporting work groups on special projects.

Austin District – Law Enforcement Regional DWI Coalition

Mission: To engage, inform, and develop awareness of traffic safety issues through education,

implementation, and enforcement through high visibility initiatives to help build and keep the community safe on our roadways.

Inaugural Meeting – January 2014

§  Law Enforcement Agencies from 3 Central Texas Counties

§  Purpose & Need – to develop a group of partners to address Impaired Driving concerns within our communities.

§  Coalition formed a Regional Multi-Agency DWI Enforcement Task Force.

§  First Multi-Agency DWI Initiative Memorial Day 2014
